Great day for the Family at Bears Family Fest!

    by JoeM13 on 8/5/12Soldier Field - Chicago

Really great family event. Great to see so many young kids getting the opportunity to see their Bears heros. Soldier Field and the Bears put on a great event, very well organized. Getting to and leaving the stadium was very smooth and easy. My son had two buddies visiting from the UK and they enjoyed every minute of it! We will definitely be making it an annual event! Go Bears!!

CHICAGO BEARS FAMILY FEST WAS AWESOME!

    by STEVE5424 on 8/5/12Soldier Field - Chicago

THE FESTIVIES BEFORE HAND LACKED TO SPARK MY CHILDRENS INTEREST. BUT ONCE THE GATES OPENED TO LET US IN THEY WERE OVER JOYED TO SEE THE STADUIM. ONE OF MY CHILDREN WON AN AUTOGRAPH SESSION ON THE FEILD WHICH WAS GREAT.

It was an overall fun experience. Lines were a bit long in the outside area so we ended up skipping it. The door prizes were pretty good especially if you got the autographs opportunity. The fireworks were a great end to the evening. One thing that I would recommend is to have concessions better stocked. They all seemed to run out of the same things throughout the stadium.

Potentially great event for the kids!

by BearzFan on 8/5/12Soldier Field - Chicago

Of course, the weather controls most of the reviews I would think. With abundant sunshine and clear blue sky, our family enjoyed a wonderful day at the field. We had seats in the 100s section so the view was great and the up-close and personal distance to the players made it worth while. I'm not sure I would have felt the event was as much fun had we been sitting much higher due to the lack of a competitive season game to be emotionally involved in. There needs to be more draws/pay-outs for the fans if you want them to rave about an event like this, especially if they are sitting in the 200s or 300s sections. I don't think there were enough exciting things to make those seats worth while. The fireworks were great of course and watching "the wave" travel around the fans' sections 9 times was a very cool thing. The band was very good too. Sling-shooting T-shirts to the fans was great. But I would think they could build an event such as this into something people really look forward to every year by making it feel more festive and more fan focused. With the amount of money the Bear's franchise works with, I would suggest they invest a lot more of it into fans and their families who attend this event. It's the first day to attend a Bears event in the field for the season. It's an opportunity to give back to the loyal fans and families, many of which work so hard yet can not afford season tickets much less the means to attend games, but can easily afford an event such as this. Our hearts and support of this team are just as strong as those who can afford attending games and just as much a part of the franchise. This is a wonderful opportunity for the Bears to show their appreciation and thanks to families like ours, making a public statement with their actions, not words, that we are valued just as much and deserve a wonderful day at the park. There were scratch-off cards given to the first 30,000 people who entered the event. The prizes were not up to par. Very few were worth an opportunity to get player signatures. One of us got a small 8x10 flyer with the season's schedule on it, another got a drink huggie, and two got a free bag of popcorn......what a disappointment after all the effort and excitement we went through to be among the first 30,000. They should have provided scratch-offs for everyone for those kinds of prizes and provided something much more valuable to the first 30,000, 20,000, or whatever. They should award a handful of season tickets, a couple hundred specific game tickets, and then at least a few thousand the ability to get player's signatures or receive items with multiple signatures on them. THAT is worth the effort of being the first in line. If you're giving out "drink huggies" and posters you could slingshot those kinds of prizes constantly throughout the event into the crowd too as a way to create hype. Overall our family enjoyed themselves, the entertainment and would come to the event again since it is affordable for us.

Fun Family Night With the Chicago Bears

    by ybcre8iv on 8/5/12Soldier Field - Chicago

It was fun for all. We watched most of the practice and enjoyed the day. The kids won the the opportunity to go down on the field and get autographs from a couple of players, so that was kinda cool. However, we had to miss the main part of the practice in order to wait in line for that autograph session, so that was kind of a bummer.

    Awesome experience

by thebonid on 8/5/12Soldier Field - Chicago

There is no way I could afford to take my family to a regular season Bears game. This experience was so much better, our seats were close to the field and fantastic views. The Bears put on a great show, pulling out all the stops and letting the fans experience what a game would be like. Highly recommend!

    Terrible Event

by DALIWnN on 8/5/12Soldier Field - Chicago

Stadium was completely unprepared for crowd. Couldnt get a hot dog at three different concession stands. Lines were way too long. All kid events were outside stadium in terrible heat. They easily could have been in the stadium in the shade. There were no kid events in the stadium. Fireworks couldn't be seen from our seats. Would not go to this event again.

Fun time at Bears Family Fest!

    by fanof15 on 8/5/12Soldier Field - Chicago

Bears Family Fest was a fun time! Stadium personnel allowed kids to get up close to the players, which was great. My son was able to get an autograph from Brandon Marshall! One small complaint: since we were encouraged to arrive early due to the Lollapalooza traffic, it would have been nice to have vendors selling bottled water/cold drinks as fans waited in the heat to get in the stadium, we had to trek all the way back to the car for a bottle of water. Overall a very fun and family friendly event for Bear fans, we will definitely attend again next year!

Over all this was fun. But to be honest it was more geared to teenagers and not small kids. I have a 3 year old and there was nothing for him to do. Also a cooling station would have been nice since it was over 90 degrees out. But the autograph sessions were awesome.

    Comcast Bears Family Fest

    by GiGi815 on 8/5/12Soldier Field - Chicago

This was the first time I had ever been to Soldier Field which I must say was quite impressive in its self. We took public transportation and getting in and out of the venue was a breeze. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I can honestly say "Kudos" to Soldier Field. The only thing I have a negative attitude about was the concessions. Come on almost $5.00 for a bottle of water and they want to keep the cap? The food was way over priced with our cheapest item being $4,00 for a pretzel. I think we are missing the concept of "Family" here an average family of 4 would spend a small fortune for 4 hot dogs and 4 sodas. I do realize they have to make their money somehow but wow take it easy on the food prices. So finally I would say it's well worth it to go but have lunch or an early dinner before hand.

    Absolutely Amazing

by DivaBearsFan on 8/5/12Soldier Field - Chicago

I had an amazing time. I really didn't think it would be as good as it was. But I had so much fun. The atmosphere was wonderful. The players and staff did a wonderful job. My auction prize package was wonderful. The food was great. My family and I are already planning on next year's Fan Fest, in addition to attending a game. Great Job Bears!!!

    Not worth going

    by Gamma79 on 8/5/12Soldier Field - Chicago

Thought pre-practice events was to small and few for amount of people in attendance. Kids were not able to participate in anything cause every booth had lines like great America. Was not worth at all. 2 kids in our group won post practice signatures which was a great gesture until we went down to get them. We went down at 730 to ask booth about it and guy working booth said just come back at 8. I went to shop for something for them to get signatures on luckily my husband stayed outside store and was able to see a huge line form. So we then stood inline for an hour as opposed to being able to watch bears practice. While in line over 20 different people asked us atleast 50 times if we had blue bracelets. Then when they finally took us in they made parents separate from kids. It caused extreme anxiety for kids and for parents. It was organized horribly!!!!!!!!! Both pre-practice and signatures were organized horrible. No desire to attend this event again in future.
