A former linebacker for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a one-time NASCAR pit crew member, Chase Rice's entry into country music was no wild card. Rice broke through the scene in 2010 with the group Florida Georgia Line before self-recording and releasing the EP,Country as Me, in 2011 via his label Dack Janiels Music. A full-length album, Dirt Road Communion,followed in 2012, featuring the hit single “How She Rolls.” Rice's relentless touring earned him an impressive following of country music fans before he eventually signed with Triple 8 Management, home to the Eli Young Band. His latest EP, Ready Set Roll debuts on October 15, 2013.

Understood we’d have standing room tickets in the mezzanine, and totally fine with standing, but it was so packed we couldn’t see a thing. About 4 rows of people in front of us. All we could see is backs of people in front of us. Left during opening act. Would love to see Chase Rice sometime, at a different venue.

Chase shows so much emotion on this new release. He actually came down from the stage at the end to do pictures, and signing things for fans. I actually got him to do a picture with my phone (kind of blurry) but i love it.. Of course it's now my screensaver.

Turns out our 7pm start time - as noted on the Ticketmaster tickets, was NOT the start time of the show….that was only when they opened the doors. Hence there were a couple thousand people standing in line in the very cold outside sidewalks of Detroit beckoning to get indoors for over an hour!
