Stone crabs played great....!!! Crowd was great. The fireworks would have been really great had the wind cooperated.

    Stone crabs a great time

by MartyVon on 7/4/10Charlotte Sports Park-Tampa Bay Rays Spring Training Home - Port Charlotte

We attended our first stone crabs game on the 3 rd of July. The stadium is magnificent. The team played well and won. We were impressed that they were very professional. We saw some very crisp plays, including a spectacular catch in right field and some very professional pitching from both pitchers. Despite, wet ,horrible weather, most of the crowd stayed for the full game and then watched a spectacular fire works show. The food offered at the park was varied and very good. The prices were reasonable and all the members of the stone crabs team did everything to make the evening an enjoyable one. We plan to buy a season ticket package for next season since we can see ourselves attending a number of games at this wonderful park.

Palm Beach Cardninals had the upper hand

by puntagorda707 on 6/29/10Charlotte Sports Park-Tampa Bay Rays Spring Training Home - Port Charlotte

I just love a good ball game. I want the stone Crabs to be the best of the best, because they are the local team, but they need a bit more practice. I love to watch them anyway!!

    Great place to watch baseball

by Baseballislife on 6/28/10Charlotte Sports Park-Tampa Bay Rays Spring Training Home - Port Charlotte

The ballpark is nicely laid out. We enjoyed walking out to the Tiki hut before the game. The only drawback was that they did not have food available, as it was a Sunday. We ended up going to a regular concession stand and taking our food out to the Tiki hut area. Great seats available, very comfortable. Staff was friendly and courteous. Good enjoyable baseball game.

For a small town deal, it was fun

by rookie14 on 4/18/10Charlotte Sports Park-Tampa Bay Rays Spring Training Home - Port Charlotte

Aside from the typical Florida rain, and this game was delayed, although I don't know if they called it or not, my date and I had a great time. The childrens activities between side changes were a hoot, and we saw a few friends there as well. The facilities and staff were beyond expectations too. I definitely will be going back again.

We had a great time - and I caught a foul ball

by Loiss on 4/14/10Charlotte Sports Park-Tampa Bay Rays Spring Training Home - Port Charlotte

We went with another couple and we all enjoyed the game. The complimentary hot dog, drink and chips were an added bonus. The only bad thing was that they didn't win. Much to my surprise I got a foul ball which added some excitement for me. We are planning to go again in the next couple of weeks.

    Open the gates at 5:30

by Stoneyspal on 4/9/10Charlotte Sports Park-Tampa Bay Rays Spring Training Home - Port Charlotte

Great time, improved food and drink selection over 2009. Waiting from 5:20PM till 6:00pm standing in line to enter the stadium was ridiculous. We wanted to shop, eat dinner, listen to the band and watch practice. Instead we watched in disbelief as huge line built up and stood outside waiting for gates to open. Granted many people came early to get Cal's autograph but everyone wanted in earlier and was ready to spend more and enjoy the experience earlier.

    Rain Delay / Game Cancelled

by rainout on 8/30/09Charlotte Sports Park-Tampa Bay Rays Spring Training Home - Port Charlotte

Will Call option to pick up tickets worked fine; seats were great but weather was lousy. Thunder showers lasted most of the evening. Visiting from out of the area so ticket exchange for another game was not possible. Lesson: Don't take a chance on the weather if you can't attend a later game.

    Good game despite meltdown

by n8dogg8305 on 8/18/09Charlotte Sports Park-Tampa Bay Rays Spring Training Home - Port Charlotte

Charlotte Sports Park is great! For a very low price, you can see great Tampa Bay Rays prospects, as well as rehab starts for your favorite players. It is a top notch sporting event for Port Charlotte.
