Charlie Wilson Concert Schedule

The Gap Band alumnus and adult contemporary R&B superstar Charlie Wilson has been dazzling audiences and listeners with his sultry vocals since the takeoff of his solo career in the early 2000s. Charlie Wilson's tour dates feature an electrifying energy more akin to a tight-knit party than a sold-out concert, as seen in his 2017 In It To Win It Tour, his 2015 Forever Charlie Tour and his 2013 Love, Charlie Tour, among many others. Wilson is known for his smooth funk & soul singing style, which, combined with his talents as a songwriter, producer and keyboardist, has led to the creation of numerous R&B hits over his eight solo studio albums. On stage, Charlie puts on a show with an unmatched level of energy. He beckons crowds to take to their feet and feel the music as his band delivers with tightly composed rhythms and he serenades with his dulcet melodies. In addition to praise from fellow performers, Charlie Wilson's music has earned him 11 Grammy Award nominations, six NAACP Image Award nominations (along with one win for Outstanding Album), and numerous honors from BET, Billboard and Soul Train, along with acknowledgements from across the music industry and beyond.

Charlie Wilson Background

Charlie Wilson was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1953. The son of a Christian minister, he learned to play piano and sing in church, providing the musical background that led to the formation of The Gap Band with his brothers Ronnie and Robert. After the group announced their retirement in 2010, Charlie shifted his focus to concentrate on his solo career, becoming Billboard Magazine's No. 1 Adult R&B Artist and a breakout success. Wilson's first solo album, Bridging The Gap, came in 2000, earning him acclaim from the single "Without You." His follow-up release, Charlie, Last Name Wilson, went certified gold and produced the eponymous single (along with fellow R&B vocalist R. Kelly) by which he is most often known. In subsequent years, Charlie Wilson continued to release and chart on the Billboard Hot 200 and R&B/Hip-Hop charts and sold more than 1 million copies of his albums. Wilson has inspired generations of performers who also feature him on their own records. He was given the affectionate nickname "Uncle Charlie" by Snoop Dogg and collaborated with the rapper (and Justin Timberlake) on the 2013 track "Signs.

UNCLE CHARLIE, UNCLE CHARLIE, I LOVED THE SHOW

by MSRAB on 2/14/11Paradise Theater - Bronx

Only problem I have with a show like Charlie Wilson is that I need a place to really "PARTY". I AM SO TIRED OF PEOPLE TELLING ME TO SIT DOWN, because I am there to party not sit down in my seat and bounce. Anytime I've seen Charlie Wilson, I have always partied, but I had to move from my good seat and go in the back to party. I enjoyed Chrisette Michele, but I would rather see her at a smaller venue,I have all her CD's. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, remove the seats in front, have it some were people like me can just cut a rug., without stick-in-the mud people, who want to sit. I LOVED IT, I LOVED IT , I LOVED IT.

Charlie was awesome. He makes a struggle look good! Never off point, besides what I would call being filled up with emotion due to the packed house and rousing reception. He was hopping around like he was in his twenty's. He keep up with the beautiful dancers to the step. Charlie is bring ol' school back. Thanks Charlie for keeping oringinality alike!

    by Nisha621 on 2/14/11Paradise Theater - Bronx

After waiting an hour for him to come out, I must say that it was well worth the wait!! He came out and DID HIS THING!! I know all the men were kind of upset that all the women were under Charlies' spell but that is to be expected when he is in the house!

    "Charlie off the chain Wilson"

    by DeeDee1226 on 2/14/11Paradise Theater - Bronx

Charlie Wilson was awesome! I had heard that Mr. Wilson is an entertainer and boy did I hear right. I was moved by this man's performance. Although I am Chrisette Michele's biggest fan I was extremely disappointed in her performance. Thank goodness Charlie made up for her

    Charlie and his angels

by FirstLadyV on 1/11/11Atlanta Civic Center - Atlanta

This was a treat for my young adult men that accompanied me to this event. My 20 year old son has a passion for music and entertainment and was very much into the show. My 18 year old son is a little more hard to please, so when he smiled and stood up on a song it made me certainly sigh with relief that I had assurance each of them was enjoying the event. They may have appreciated it differently, but the bottom line is that they both enjoyed it! I also had a wonderful time and certainly appreciated the warmth and love that both Ms. Michelle and Mr. Wilson have for the LORD! Going to this event was definitely out of the traditional New Year atmosphere, but the mere fact that these two artists gave open and unashamed praise and thanks to GOD was remarkable. Thank you for a great performance, family and God oriented evening

    Charlie Wilson-100% Entertainer

by Papitoslilmama on 1/9/11Atlanta Civic Center - Atlanta

I was a baby when Charlie first came on the scene...but I tell you that this man transcends across races and ages so effortlessly you wouldn't know. I went by myself not knowing what to expect..the first 20min of the concert everyone was on their feet...it took a slow ballad to get "some" to sit down..he came on the stage with energy, performance, looked sharper than ever and moved and slid across that stage which made you question...HOW old is he again. His voice LIVE is amazing..no gimmick, no tune up..pure and clear. The price of the ticket was more than reasonable..and whenever he is back in town or in a nearby city...YOU will find me there...GO UNCLE CHARLIE!!!!

by Jumpman35 on 1/4/11Atlanta Civic Center - Atlanta

The concert was nice and the comedians keep the auidence laughing as we celebrated New Year's Eve. Chrisette gave an amazing performance followed by Mr. Wilson and his dancers. In the sunset of his career, he has been able to make a remarkable come back. His testimony speaks volumes!
