Bands were amazing. Venue needs to work out kinks.
The lineup was excellent. Three Days Grade, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my Valentine, Hinder, Stone Sour, Black Cherry Stone and Hinder put on great performances. Godsmack was kind of putting me to sleep. The metal gate in the middle of the crowd was in the way and made it difficult to move around especially after performances. That coupled with beer/food/liquor lines merging with the crowd made navigation difficult. Long lines (1-2hrs) for the concession stand made buying a $8 burger not desirable. And $9 for a 16oz beer exceeds the definition of price gouging. For 12+ hrs and 18 bands the prices could have been more modest. And because of lines and the crowd it was hard to refill water bottles.
The Carolina Rellion was great. The Metrolina Expo did a great job with the traffic flow and parking. My only complaint was the line up of the bands. Just my personal opinion but I think My Darkest Days and Hinder should have been in the time slots that Stone Sour and Alter Bridge had. And Godsmack DEFINITELY should have been the headliner because the place cleared out after they were finished with their set.
The bands rocked, but we missed 2 bands waiting line trying to get in. There was only one entrance for thousands of people. Parking was a nightmare. Set in Premiere parking for over an hour with no movement b/c the regular parking was let out first. It just seemed that everything other than the bands were poorly managed and planned. No chairs were aloud and expected to stand for 12 hours.
AEG did not spend one dime on Fan comfort , no shade, no mist tente, no nothing. Will never spend another dime at the carolina rebellion ever again.
The Carolina Rebellion was the best show I had seen in a very long time. I enjoyed all 13 hours!
Loved the show from the first band to the last. With three stages there was always somebody playing. They did a good job minimizing down time. More water bottle refill stations would have been nice though.
The layout was great, if you wanted to be surrounded by people or get a spot of your own in the grass you had those options and everything in between. The bands were awesome, they all put on a show like they wanted to be there and weren't just doing another gig. We can't wait for Carolina Rebellion 2.
The show was great!. The only bits of complaint i had was #1 it was very unorganized. We were first in line and Event staff told us we couldn't have ANY bags and i told them the Carolina Rebellion FB page posted we could have small purses and drawstring bags. The lead Event Guy was kind of rude and told me to prove it to him. We whipped out our phones and pulled it up and showed him. He then said ok. #2. I think the only other thing that should be changed is the venue site. It wasn't big enough for the 30,000 + people. We were front row center in the pit on the Carolina Stage. After I had to be pulled from the pit due to the stupid drunken crowd surfers pummeling my head, there was no where to walk b/c it was a mine field of people, literally had to tip toe through the people. also couldn't get food or merch due to the overwhelmingly long lines. The line up was fantastic! just work on venue and more food tents so lines won't be 2 hr long ( a friend of mine said she stood in line for food for 2 hr) and more merch booths.
Overall this event was spectacular. Great bands and they all did well. But it was too hot and water was outrageous. They had spigots to refill your bottles, but the lines for them was long enough that if you were severally dehydrated, you'd pass out before getting the water.
This was the most amazing event I have ever been to!! Can't wait until the next one! The bands were awesome. Traffic was horrible and not very organized but other than that...AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Packed with 30000 well worth the trip n saving ill go every year! Top 3 were a7x bfmv n halestorm epic!
This show ROCKED! Had a blast and will continue to go to them as long as they have them!
The traffic was so bad, never even made it into the event. Waited for 2 hours on I-77 and was still 2.5 miles away from the place. Traffic was at a complete stand still with no end in sight.
The line up was everything I listen to on Octane on Sirius XM so this was a no-brainer to attend. Godsmack rocked, and A7X always puts on a clinic. I was really impressed with the energy level of Skillet, and Art of Dying really impressed me. That lead singer reminds me of what rockers used to be like! My main recommendation would be to open the gates earlier than 1/2 hr before the first band goes on stage. Made the lines in traffic and to get through the gates longer than they needed to be!
Well.... We missed the first 2 hours of the concert because of traffic. We even got there early. We got to see part of saving able and skillet. Then we decided we wanted to get something to eat and use the bathroom. Well There was a 2 hour line for both. We missed 3 bands waiting in line on of which was theory of a deadman. It was 30 bucks to park. 9 dollars for 3 pieces of chicken and a few fries with no ketchup or anything else. 9 dollars for a beer and 4 bucks for a water is a little over priced. The bands were awesome. I strongly would recommend not using Metrolina Expo Center again for this event. It was in no way prepared for this size show on any level. This was an awful experience.
None of the bands I went to see disappointed, even some that I didn't know too much of were good. But 3 Days and Godsmack absolutely KILLED! The event as a whole I felt was a huge success. If I had any complaint, it would be the food seemed to be at a shortage, I never go to a concert with expectations of eating, but the lines cutting through the crowd where we were trying to sit/stand were very annoying. 2 hour wait for a burger or hotdog. Unacceptable. Other than that, Excellent experience. I WILL go next year if the CR comes back to CLT.
this was the greatest show i been to in awhile! it was worth the wait in traffic and we got front row to see amazing bands!! cant wait till next year!!!
THE BANDS WERE GREAT!! I felt the gates should have been opened a little sooner, show was delayed while folks stood in line for two hours to get in. Also felt that $30 to park a car was outrageous. I won't be going back.
If they had chairs or atleast let you bring your own it would have been fine but sitting on the ground sucked. It was unnecessary and annoying.
