Carolina Hurricanes History
The Carolina Hurricanes were established in Raleigh in 1997 after relocating from Hartford, Connecticut, where the National Hockey League franchise was originally founded in 1979. Since their arrival in North Carolina, the Hurricanes have made the playoffs 11 times, captured six division championships, two Eastern Conference titles and the 2006 Stanley Cup Championship.
The team also hosted the 2004 NHL Draft and the 2011 NHL All-Star Game at Lenovo Center, where they play their home games. When the Hurricanes made the playoffs in 2001, against the defending Stanley Cup Champions New Jersey Devils, they lost the series but came back from a 3-0 deficit to force a sixth game — marking what many believed to be the start of real hockey in the Research Triangle.
The 2005-2006 season marked the best in the Hurricanes' history, as the team finished with 112 points, beating the previous franchise-best record of 94 points. They ended up beating the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final, marking the first time in NHL history that two former World Hockey Association teams faced off in the Final.

Was a great experience! High energy, very loud. Do yourself a favor and set money aside to go to a game.
PNC is a great venue. The staff is great and hockey is king! The building is loud - no problem with the crowd cheering but the announcer and the music could be toned down a bit. $20 Parking is stiff and it shouldn't be any more than that!
i attended the hockey game with my niece and her husband for his birthday. he is a flyers fan and wore a jersey he had gotten as a youngster. looked at new jerseys in the arena shop but everything is SO RIDICULOUSLY priced. Very very disappointed in the price gouging that occurs at these event - from snacks to beverages to souvenirs - it is disgraceful & reprehensible. Shame on them for taking advantage of their patrons. There is absolutely no reason to charge people these outrageous prices for ordinary items.
Game was great. The seats were first row mid level. Excellent view if you lean forward to see over the concrete rail. Not too bad but my neck new about it in the morning.
Great seats, easy to use the Mobil app. Nice facility.
I love hockey. I never actually was able to go to a NHL game though until now. I loved the game itself, purchasing the tickets was an easy process, parking was no issue at all, and the view from all seating areas seemed to be great! Now heres the few things I had issues with: people decided to take seats by scooting down from there into ours (we were in the middle of the front row on the top tier). Getting them to give us our seats was a nightmare and an argument that I was over and didn't care to have ruin my experience so we just took two seats at the end of our row. Which brings me to my biggest complaint. THE SEATS ARE SO TINY. You are basically sitting right on top of your neighbor. I'm not sure if this is just because I was on the top tier (which i do understand i pay less so the conditions aren't going to be ideal) but that was just ridiculous. My boyfriend and I are both pretty average sized, fit. And even then, the seats were super crowding.
Game was amazing! This team is taking it to another level! And of course, with seats two rows behind the home bench, my wife and daughter loved the close-up view of their favorite (husbands) players! LOL Just a great time - if you love hockey like my family and I do, go watch this team! Go ‘Canes!!!
The arena was great and a great seat for being up top. Arena and area around it very clean. Easy to navigate
Everything was amazing! The Canes won 6-1, and the light/sound effects were much better than last time. The only complaints are the tiny narrow seats and the overpriced food.
What can you say about a hockey game, it was great!! Unfortunately we'll be packing ear plugs should we decide to do this again. We've been to many hockey games in many different arenas and this one was one of the loudest. I get it, loud is fine to get the place rocking, but is it really necessary to have hard blasting music the second the play stops until the 2 seconds after the puck drops!! Seriously, lower the decibel level and cut the music before the puck drops. Trust me, it would be a more enjoyable game.
Kids enjoyed family tickets which included snacks. They will never forget time well spent. And would attend another game. We enjoyed the afternoon time with them, and the game even though the Canes lost by one. Cheers!
Our family has never been much into sports. We relocated to North Carolina from just outside of Boston and never really cared for the "culture" of New England sports. With the exception of an occasional Red Sox game sports was just not a thing. Early this season one of my wife's past High School students sang the National Anthem at a Canes game and she felt obligated to go and cheer her on. I tagged along with our 9 year old daughter. The experience was unforgettable. Everything from the PNC Arena itself to all the fanfare and attention given to those in attendance was amazing. The thrill of the game and the intensity of the "show" surrounding it instantly converted us to die hard fans. We have been to countless games since. It took us some time to convince our 12 year old son to join us since he suffers from Sensory Processing Disorder and severe anxiety associated with it. We took advantage of the package offered by PNC Arena as part of their advertising as a "Sensory Processing Inclusive" venue and he loved it. He attended his second game with us last weekend and he feels comfortable enough with the experience to try out some lower level seats (he would only sit up in the balcony). Our 20 year-old daughter who "refused" to attend a sporting event (especially Hockey) for the same reasons we shy'd away for so many years finally agreed to attend a game with us this past weekend to cheer on our 9 year old who attended the Jr. Storm Squad cheer program and got the opportunity to cheer with the storm squad at the game. The result... looks like all five of us will be attending some games together. To the Hurricanes... pulling our family in was quite a feat. I would recommend this experience to anyone looking for a day out at a reasonable price (compared to attending these events in many other cities). Go Canes!
Hurricanes vs Predators. We had amazing seats eight rows up from the glass just off the home goal. Comfortable and great visibility. Would definitely consider attending another game!
We had a great time, loved the game, the music, and will definitely be returning!
Bought tickets at the gates using the mobile app. Fast checkout, and mobile app was responsive when using mobile ticket barcode.
We had a lot of fun. Some of the staff at PNC may have been new or having an off day, as they sent us in all different directions, but overall a fine experience. We can't wait to go back and catch another game.
Went to see the hockey game against the Penguins. The arena was great and all seats would have had a great view. But we were close and it was so exciting. I also paid to have my husbands name displayed for his 50th birthday and he loved it. The cinnamon rolls smelled so good I had to get one and they tasted just as good. The refreshments were a bit pricey but they are many places. Great night!!!
Excellent seats --and a fun way to celebrate New Years!
Our seats were good and everyone around us were great. The game was very exciting and I enjoyed it. I can't wait to see another game here.
We had an amazing time. It was so good to see the Whaler green and hear the Brass Bonanza after a goal. It was like old times back in Hartford.
