Carolina Hurricanes History
The Carolina Hurricanes were established in Raleigh in 1997 after relocating from Hartford, Connecticut, where the National Hockey League franchise was originally founded in 1979. Since their arrival in North Carolina, the Hurricanes have made the playoffs 11 times, captured six division championships, two Eastern Conference titles and the 2006 Stanley Cup Championship.
The team also hosted the 2004 NHL Draft and the 2011 NHL All-Star Game at Lenovo Center, where they play their home games. When the Hurricanes made the playoffs in 2001, against the defending Stanley Cup Champions New Jersey Devils, they lost the series but came back from a 3-0 deficit to force a sixth game — marking what many believed to be the start of real hockey in the Research Triangle.
The 2005-2006 season marked the best in the Hurricanes' history, as the team finished with 112 points, beating the previous franchise-best record of 94 points. They ended up beating the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final, marking the first time in NHL history that two former World Hockey Association teams faced off in the Final.

AMAZING! I hate to say this but worth every penny. What a Game! What a show!
Tried to get tix for game 3 but there was a glitch in the system and it was not showing up for sale. Not happy I had that day off from work free and clear by the time it was on sale only resale available. Could not afford two game tix at resale value,
Too bad Hurricane fans don’t support their team in the same manner during regular season games.
I am hooked! This was my first hockey game and I am officially a Caniac!!!! The whole experience was awesome. The arena was great. And I had seats in the upper section but I loved it because I could see everything, including the whole crowd and their reactions. Unbelievable!
PNC Arena is the best. Parking is convenient, ticketmaster does a great job with seat selection and recommendations.
The nice thing about buying tickets on Ticketmaster is they are guaranteed, no guesswork.
Great venue and crowd for Game 3 of Stanley Cup playoffs vs Islanders. Canes rocked and the fans rocked the house! Seats were great at Club level in the corner; gave us a great view of the goal that the Canes shot at twice.
Great experience. Ushers were good. View and sound was great. Improvements: 1. Need more bathroom capacity. Had to wait 15 minutes to use bathroom. Almost missed the next period waiting in line. Big need. 2. Faster line to buy a beer. Lines would take 10-15 minutes. Some facilities have beer stands near bathroom that just sell one or two types of beer. Quick and easy. Would be a big improvement.
I wanted to take my older daughter to see the playoff madness with the Canes. We were part of the largest NHL Canes attendance record setting night. Champions Club offers good food and friendly service. Sat there for the 3rd time so far in the playoff and enjoyed every time.
The team was amazing and the fans, woohoo, we are the loudest house in NHL.
We really enjoyed the game. Greats sears and fair price. Will be back.
Victory, sweet victory. Great game to go to, great fan experience, and of course Ticketmaster is great and easy to use.
Really fun total blast want tickets for round 2 as soon as possible!!!!!!
Great experience got game 6 of 1st round of Stanley cup playoffs crowd was electric!!! Prices at concessions is high but all in all great time at pnc
SO MUCH FUN! Loudest house in the NHL! Let’s go Canes!
This was the best Hurricanes game that my wife and I have ever been to.
Staff was amazingly polite and courteous. The areana was clean and the event was exceptionally organized. It was our first game at the PNC and we will definitely be back.
Great 4th Stanley Cup playoff game! Fans were rowdy and loud, team play was superb. Seats were incredible.
Excellent game with a fired up crowd that kept you on your feet the entire game! Great venue with very helpful staff!
Great crowd, great game and great deal at beer concession! Only complaint would be parking. I have not been to PNC too many times and the parking could have used more signage or some sort of explanation on parking pass on phone.
