Carolina Hurricanes History
The Carolina Hurricanes were established in Raleigh in 1997 after relocating from Hartford, Connecticut, where the National Hockey League franchise was originally founded in 1979. Since their arrival in North Carolina, the Hurricanes have made the playoffs 11 times, captured six division championships, two Eastern Conference titles and the 2006 Stanley Cup Championship.
The team also hosted the 2004 NHL Draft and the 2011 NHL All-Star Game at Lenovo Center, where they play their home games. When the Hurricanes made the playoffs in 2001, against the defending Stanley Cup Champions New Jersey Devils, they lost the series but came back from a 3-0 deficit to force a sixth game — marking what many believed to be the start of real hockey in the Research Triangle.
The 2005-2006 season marked the best in the Hurricanes' history, as the team finished with 112 points, beating the previous franchise-best record of 94 points. They ended up beating the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final, marking the first time in NHL history that two former World Hockey Association teams faced off in the Final.

Very fun, exciting event. Great seats, close to action, good for seeing how fast and how huge these guys are!
I bought this ticket on the Canes Black Friday sale. It was a fantastic seat for a $50 price tag. The game was everything I could hope to see - lots of scoring and a Canes win in OT! Next time I will sit on the other side, though, so I can watch the bench.
The game experience at PNC Arena is an absolutely great one, even as a fan rooting for the visiting team. It was my first NHL game ever, and I was not disappointed. Food is a bit expensive, but that wasn't surprising. Seat views are good, even in the 300s. Highly recommend going to a game here!
Use of the mobile tickets was easy and safe. Easily scanned and clear to read.
The game was everything I expected even though the Canes lost it was a great event.
I was not a hockey fan until last year when my brother in law invited my family to come to a game. It was awesome!!! We went to several more games last season and have been to two this season so far. The atmosphere at PNC is great!! We absolutely love it.
Man!!! What a game! Had great seats right behind the bench, couldn’t ask for a better time! It was 5$ beer night also!!!
Although the Canes lost, my fiancé and I had a great time!
The Carolina Hurricanes provide a world class experience for the fans. We are fortunate to have such a talented group of young men playing for our city!
Andy Benson who works for the Canes was great to us. Great experience. Clean well kept arena. Thanks for everything Andy!
First time at PNC Arena to see NHL game. It was a great experience with my adult kids and 5 year old grandson. Seats were great, plenty of action, good staff, clean and orderly. Only negative was the parking situation.
We always have a great time at the Canes games! The staff at PNC Arena are professional, organized, efficient, helpful, and make us feel welcome every time we are on site. We look forward to our next event!
Great experience from getting tickets to our seats!! It was Star Wars night and Darth Vader was right behind us. Then there was the game!! Canes won 6-2! The “Force” was definitely with us.
Great game and atmosphere. All that you need for hockey! Getting out parking is really bad thought.
Awesome game! Great seats!! Hurricanes won! Let’s Go Canes!!
PNC is easy to get in and out of. traffic moves nicely. Good choice of food and drink. Too bad the Hurricanes didn't come to play. Had my son here from Seoul, South Korea and after spending $220 on tickets and parking - game was a bust. won't stop us from coming again.
Great action on the ice. Accessing a parking space one-hour before game took over 20 minutes once we hit loop road. On site auto circulation needs radical improvements. This is almost expected after the game; before the game not so. Concession staff were great at all levels: friendly and customer focused. Sorry to say my daughter and I had the worst hamburger of our life. Bun was cold, cheese was cold and patty was lukewarm. Yuk. Best parts were a Canes victory and a night out with my daughter.
The game was very entertaining, first time sitting up high and I really enjoyed the view. My only problem was drunk men around me they would steal my seat when I went to buy something and stood up in front of me the last 5 minutes of the game ...other than that it was great. Parking could be better for 20 bucks.
This was my 80 yr old mothers first ever hockey game and she loved it! The Canes got off to a slow start but kicked it up in the third to make it a very exciting win. Mom can't stop talking about how much fun the entire experience was!
I wish I knew the seats had limited view when I purchased them.
