Carolina Hurricanes History
The Carolina Hurricanes were established in Raleigh in 1997 after relocating from Hartford, Connecticut, where the National Hockey League franchise was originally founded in 1979. Since their arrival in North Carolina, the Hurricanes have made the playoffs 11 times, captured six division championships, two Eastern Conference titles and the 2006 Stanley Cup Championship.
The team also hosted the 2004 NHL Draft and the 2011 NHL All-Star Game at Lenovo Center, where they play their home games. When the Hurricanes made the playoffs in 2001, against the defending Stanley Cup Champions New Jersey Devils, they lost the series but came back from a 3-0 deficit to force a sixth game — marking what many believed to be the start of real hockey in the Research Triangle.
The 2005-2006 season marked the best in the Hurricanes' history, as the team finished with 112 points, beating the previous franchise-best record of 94 points. They ended up beating the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final, marking the first time in NHL history that two former World Hockey Association teams faced off in the Final.

First NHL experience, whole family loved it. Would have been perfect if the Canes had got the win. Definitely going back.
Love hockey and the Carolina Hurricanes are a class act both on and off the ice. A little bummed that we lost the game but the experience and atmosphere were electric as always. Can't wait to book my tickets for the next game!
Just a great experience for my family and myself 😎👍
Best arena in the NHL. I wish i could give more stars since they didnt make anybody wear masks. HOW IT SHOULD BE. GO CANES!
Canes games are always the best, especially when we can pull off a win
We had a great time as usual at the Canes Game. The Canes always put on a show. However, PNC was different. We haven't been to a game since Dec. 31, 2019 and things have changed a LOT. I wasn't fond of how everything had to be on my phone including parking pass, covid check in and tickets. I guess I"m old school and like having a piece of paper with my ticket on it so just in case something happened to my phone I could still get into the game. Other small things like running out of BBQ at a 1:00 game kinda sucked too. We still had a great time and got a Canes Win!
Fun with son ... first time he saw game in lower level, great seats.
Great seats, exciting game, great energy and atmosphere! Drinks are definitely pricey for a cocktail in an 8 oz cup
PNC Arena should hire Chick-fil-a to teach their parking people how to set up traffic flow. Pre-game parking was a total mess. Made us late for the game.
1. entry--10 minute drive to parking lot (had to show our covid survey 4 times). Amazingly the metal detector no longer required emptying the pockets nor being held up. 2. good game--bad guys win. 3. hour to get out of parking lot and make the 10 minute drive to the hotel. Long lines for food and rest room. Did move pretty well. Good experience that could have been better (managing the crowd and facilities and clearing out the parking lots).
Incredible atmosphere, great Arena----ticket price "affordable"---I liked it !
Signs everywhere detailing about MASK mandate but yet people walking around everywhere not wearing a mask. When I brought this to attention to an event official he was as if he could care less. Went to one concession stand and they would not recognize my STM card for discount but yet next concession stand did give me discount. PNC needs to get their act together for the fans.
I love hockey but I spent over $500 for 5 people to see the game and over 600 if I include food and parking. I think the seats were too expensive for what they were and I ordered them before the season. I'd like to go to more games but the seats are too much money.
My seats in section 129 were great, parking was easy, tuckets on the phone was very easy. I loved it
Everything was amazing. Cleanest arena I’ve ever been to. I don’t see how you could make it any better !
Great experience. Loud, involved crowd! Great venue, plus Canes won !
Really enjoyed the game - except that MANY fans were not wearing masks. Made us quite uncomfortable as wearing masks was NOT enforced. Why not?
It was easy to use the app to use my tickets that I purchased. And to top it of the Hurricanes won. I use Ticketmaster for all my ticket purchases.
It was actually my first ever hockey game so it was pretty impressive. Had a great night with my husband and my two boys. However the teens behind us were so drunk and possibly under age drinking with mini bottle of liquor from ABC liquor being tossed on my lap. It was great
Parking was a bit hectic but it was due to the State Fair going on at the same time. The atmosphere inside the arena was great. ZWe we’re rooting for the opposite team and the fans were very respectful. The inside is clean and it was easy to maneuver. Will definitely be back for more games
