Absolutely loved going to the fair and being able to watch Chase Matthew , Dylan Marlowe and Landon Parker perform! My family and I had a great time!!
My family which consisted of my daughter, granddaughter and me visited the fair on Sunday! It was my granddaughter’s first time and she is almost 3 in a month; so we purchased the kiddie land unlimited rides for her and then the 40 tickets for us to use- we hoped to all ride the Ferris wheel before we left. Unfortunately she was too short to ride many of rides by herself and needed a companion to ride with her- which my daughter tried to do , however they were to small for her to ride comfortably. This lead to temper tantrum galore as you can imagine. Our entry was smooth due to us having got tickets on Ticketmaster but waiting in line for ride tickets and then not being able to ride was very disappointing! More booths should have been opened so the 40-45 min wait for ride tickets could have been shorter!
We rode rides... slid down every slide available...went through the crazy maze with the funny mirrors. We looked at all the artwork exhibits. We went to the petting zoo. Caught some of the rodeo...and ate all the junk food we could handle!
We got there early to beat the crowds. My daughters first time she is 5! There was SEVERAL rides she was 2in short to ride BUT some less safer and was able to ride, didn’t make since! Then system went down waited 30min for that to work b4 we was able to ride anything. Overall was okay, great time couldn’t make some improvements for sure.
The high flying K9 show was top notch! Way to go!! We even went back to watch it a 2nd time. The kids had a great time but the rides were in bad shape. The canopies on the kiddie rides were dirty and mildewed. Bumper cars didn't work right. There were several rides that it appeared the inspection tags were expired. Kiddie bumper cars showed inspection expiration of May 2021 & we went in Oct 2021. Another one of the rides I spotted the inspection tag showing April 2021 expiration. Very clean restrooms were a nice surprise. So it is clear that it is not the fair grounds but instead the company that owns the rides that need to improve. I would suggest the fair see if a different company would be available to bring the rides next year! Big investment of our $ for a few hours of fun & I would expect better quality for the price.
I HAVE BEEEN TO THE FAIRGROUNDS BEFORE my mom takes us to gastonia before
The fair was fun, the whole day would have been wonderful, except in the evening what seemed to be all the local high school and younger adults, came to the fair. that is expected for the fair to get crowded, but these young adults\Kids were cutting the lines in large groups, for all the rides. It became disheartening of the ignorance the younger generation has, I did use it as an example to my young teens and their friends, not to have that type of rude, ignorant behavior. The lines are long, but wait your turn and do not be disrespectful. When you bump into someone, knowing the place is crowded, say excuse me and keep going, to many people were starting to get "upset" that someone bumped into them-Hello it is a crowded event, stop taking it personal. How are these young people being raised? Where are common manners? So the fair is fun until the young adult locals bombard the place.
I was happily surprised at how quickly I received tickets to get my wristband voucher.
the entrance tickets were easy to access via the text link I was provided. no problem finding them or getting in.
There is great food and great entertainment! Overall an amazing fair and very clean!
Rides, food, experience was good. 2pm, not too crowded
The Dixie Classic Fair was as great as ever! My family enjoyed the attractions and we always enjoy the food. Unfortunately, Winston-Salem is more worried about political correctness than tradition. Winston-Salem has taken a liberal approach, and voted to change the name of the fair. Its okay to stand up for what you believe in, but the citizens of Winston-Salem do not want the name change. I stand with tradition and I stand with these citizens. This was my last trip to the fair if the name change stands.
Lots of rides for the kids. Wasn’t crowded when we went. Prices still outrageous of course. Kids had lots of fun so that’s all that matters.
Now don't get me wrong, I know the fair had always been and will always be expensive. But I've been going for my entire life, and the food, games, etc have gotten astronomical. We had a wonderful time, but we will only be able to go once this year (normally we go two to three times)
The Dixie Classic Fair is everything a fair should be. Games, rides, livestock and dog shows, veggie and plant award browsing, magic, pig and duck races, and all sorts of other fun and interesting things to do. My only criticism is of course the intra-fair costs. A ticket Togo to the fair is reasonable, even the ride tickets are not too unreasonable, but the food prices for the portions given were ridiculous. The cost to win even a small toy has gotten more exorbitant every year. For a family of four to go spend an afternoon at the fair, the expense may well mean minimal food and games to not break the bank.
Dixie Classic is a great way to welcome fall. It is always entertaining and fun. We have been going for 15 years and look forward to it every year. The rides are enjoyable without being too wild. With it being a traveling carnival - you know the rides are put up and taken down - so you would not want too fast or high as you would go to a year round . The food vendors offer a full variety of anything you could want and it is always delicious. I purchased tickets on-line BEFORE the fair and got a GREAT deal on all-day rides. We went on Saturday and rode 10 rides, enjoyed the music, walked thru the farming barns and ate lots of different foods. Wonderful memories made for the 2019 Fair!
Super easy and convenient, made the experience that more incredible
I truly like going to the Dixie Classic Fair. I like doing other things besides rides. The petting zoo, aynax and of course all the amazing food. But it's very pricey and the lines tend to get long depending on when you go. But overall a pleasant experience.
Very nice day to enjoy the fair and then to use the wristband for the rides was ideal.
