Carlos Vives Concert Schedule

Born in Santa Marta, Colombia, Carlos Vives rose to fame in the 1990s for his unique fusion of pop and traditional Colombian vallenato music as well as his inclusion of cumbia and porro sounds. Most known for his Grammy Award win in 2002 for the album Dejame Entrar, Vives has received numerous Latin Grammy nominations throughout his career and was hailed by the Los Angeles Times as "one of Latin America's most acclaimed [musical] artists [who] embodies the very soul of Latin America."Carlos Vives live and in concert has been hailed as a beautiful mixture of cultural and musical tones. Vives, like other well-known vallenato artists, uses keyboards, full drum sets and other wind instruments. Vives's first tour was in 1997 throughout various cities in Europe and the Americas before moving to Miami to promote his music to the American audiences. Other previous tours such as the Mas Corazon Profundo and La Fiesta de Todos have seen Vives perform in countries such as France, Argentina, Mexico, Peru and many others.

Carlos Vives Background

Vives has always been a performer, often singing at family parties and church events in his hometown of Santa Marta as a child. However, his big break came in 1982 when he was performing in a nightclub and a TV producer asked him to audition for an up and coming show called Tiempo Sin Huella. Vives won the part and became a telenovela star in an acting career that spanned over 15 years. It was during this time that Vives met his first wife, Margarita Rosa de Francisco. Musically, Vives's big break came in 1991 when he earned the opportunity to sing vallenato for a part in the telenovela Escalona. Sony Discos liked the performer's rendition so much that they offered him a record deal. Vives went on to form his own record company, Gaira, and released his first album, Clasicos de la Provincia, in 1993. The album sold over a million copies and was followed up by La Tierra de Olvido in 1995, which went platinum in Latin America and Europe. His most recent Latin Grammy win came in 2016 for Record of the Year and Song of the Year with Shakira, "La Bicicleta." Throughout his 25-year career, Vives has sold over 20 million albums and won 11 Latin Grammy Awards.

  • Terrible show experience

by Maria on 11/1/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

The sound of this concert was poor, it's the 1st time that I had had a bad experience at the Kaseya Center. The sound was terrible. I think it wasn't the best night of Carlos Vives's show. He asked once to the crowd can you hear me? And everybody answered: No!

  • Very disappointed

    by Dc87 on 11/1/23Rating: 1 out of 5

I was very dissatisfied with the concert. His songs are amazing and I will like them always but I feel robbed. The sound was horrible, you couldn’t even understand what Carlos was saying. The part that I don’t understand is that you could hear well the rest of the singers but not him. Adding to that the volumen for the instruments was extremely loud. Everyone was screaming “sonido sonido sonido”.

  • Sound was dissapointing

by MIke on 11/1/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

Carlos Vices is a wonderful artist and a great entertainer with 30 years of great and unique music. Shakira surprising him was a great moment., It's a shame that the sound quality was so bad, to the point of not being able to understand what he was singing and even the crown shouting "sonido, sonido"several times throughout the show. I have no idea how a production as big as this doesn't catch audio problems during sound check or is unable to fix during the show.

  • High energy and solid musicianship.

This was an amazing concert I enjoyed Carlos Vives’s energy and Shakira as a surprise guest was great. Loved introducing my teen daughter to this music.

  • Great Show but awful sound

    by Luis G. on 10/31/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

It may sound a little bit contradictory but the performance by Carlos Vives was really good but the sound was terrible. It is not his fault as in a previous concert (Fonseca), the sound was really awful too. Worth mentioning that during Hombres G or Mana, the sound was really good, so probably there were different companies providing the sound service. You can hear the instruments really fine but the singer voice is almost impossible to understand, at this concert, I think it was a sell out, the public saved the day, as they were all singing the song that they already know by heart, and that hide a little the issue, but at some point it was so bad that Vives had to stop the concert for a few minutes for a quick tune-up but even though it improved a little the sound was still bad.

  • Not the night we were expecting: Audio Woes

by Capino on 10/31/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

Concert left much to be desired. It's rare for me to be so disappointed in a live performance but unfortunately, there were several issues that made the evening far from enjoyable. Audio quality was shockingly poor and Carlos was not sharply at all. Disrespecfully for the fans!!

  • No good

by Danyela on 10/31/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

The sound did not sound good, I had higher expectations, I thought it would have a better presentation.

  • Happy music (mic problems)

by Angela on 10/31/23Rating: 4 out of 5

This was such a happy and fun concert. I danced the entire night ONLY because the music sounded AMAZING. Unfortunately the artists has mic issues and you could not understand what he was singing. Since everyone knew the words and the music sound was PURE PERFECTION, we enjoyed the concert immensely. Carlos’s songs would have been better if we would have been able to actually hear/understand his singing. The sound was terrible.

  • Great !

  • Very bad sound

by Jane on 10/31/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

The show itself was very good, the sound was terrible and it is the second time this has happened, the singer is not understood, so those in charge of the sound should check carefully and also during the concert did they not hear how bad the singer sounded?

  • Great time

  • Fabulous!

by CC on 10/31/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

It was so good, and so much fun! Carlos performed for more than 2 hours. Unfortunately the sound quality was not that good. When he spoke into the microphone, none of the people around me understood one word! Not what happened. People tried to alert them, but to no avail. The energy in the arena was great and it was FILLED TO CAPACITY!

  • Love Carlos Vives!

by Liz on 10/31/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

Was a good concert, but The sound was not too clear, at times could not understand what he was saying. And was very loud, they should have adjusted the sound. You heard more music than Carlos singing. And at times also did not sound like him singing. When he spoke, some of the words sounded like they faded out. The sound quality could have been better. The lights on top of the screens were too bright sometimes that it prevented you from looking at the screen directly and also wished they would have showed him more often on the bigger center screen. Went to a Mana concert at Kesaya center previously and they always showed the group on the center screen and the sound quality was great!. Was expecting the same at the Carlos Vives concert. Thank you for reviewing my comments .

  • Poor Sound

by Lili on 10/31/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

Carlos Vives is an excellent artist. Every year I go to his show to enjoy his music. However, this concert was fraught with technical problems. In general, concerts at the Kaseya Center have bad audio. The acoustics are fatal compared to others that I have attended, such as at Hardo Rock Café Seminole. Carlos Vives 10 Sound 0

by Caroi on 10/31/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

The sound really awful. The band was good and so was Shakira but Carlos Vives mic was muffled.

  • Awful sound system

by JVC on 10/31/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

He’s great and having Shakira there was beyond expectations. But to be honest, the sound system was deplorable. Carlos’ microphone needed to be changed BIg Time.
