Carlos Vives Concert Schedule

Born in Santa Marta, Colombia, Carlos Vives rose to fame in the 1990s for his unique fusion of pop and traditional Colombian vallenato music as well as his inclusion of cumbia and porro sounds. Most known for his Grammy Award win in 2002 for the album Dejame Entrar, Vives has received numerous Latin Grammy nominations throughout his career and was hailed by the Los Angeles Times as "one of Latin America's most acclaimed [musical] artists [who] embodies the very soul of Latin America."Carlos Vives live and in concert has been hailed as a beautiful mixture of cultural and musical tones. Vives, like other well-known vallenato artists, uses keyboards, full drum sets and other wind instruments. Vives's first tour was in 1997 throughout various cities in Europe and the Americas before moving to Miami to promote his music to the American audiences. Other previous tours such as the Mas Corazon Profundo and La Fiesta de Todos have seen Vives perform in countries such as France, Argentina, Mexico, Peru and many others.

Carlos Vives Background

Vives has always been a performer, often singing at family parties and church events in his hometown of Santa Marta as a child. However, his big break came in 1982 when he was performing in a nightclub and a TV producer asked him to audition for an up and coming show called Tiempo Sin Huella. Vives won the part and became a telenovela star in an acting career that spanned over 15 years. It was during this time that Vives met his first wife, Margarita Rosa de Francisco. Musically, Vives's big break came in 1991 when he earned the opportunity to sing vallenato for a part in the telenovela Escalona. Sony Discos liked the performer's rendition so much that they offered him a record deal. Vives went on to form his own record company, Gaira, and released his first album, Clasicos de la Provincia, in 1993. The album sold over a million copies and was followed up by La Tierra de Olvido in 1995, which went platinum in Latin America and Europe. His most recent Latin Grammy win came in 2016 for Record of the Year and Song of the Year with Shakira, "La Bicicleta." Throughout his 25-year career, Vives has sold over 20 million albums and won 11 Latin Grammy Awards.

    AMAZING!!!

by Nat on 11/3/23Kaseya Center - Miami

I loved everything about the Carlos Vives concert in Miami. The opening act was great and ON TIME. Of course Carlos was unbelievable. Add to that Shakira surprising us on stage. WOW! The only negative was that there was no opportunity to purchase concert merchandise. Did I mention, AMAZING?

    30 Year Celebration Uncelebrated

by RLM on 11/2/23Amway Center - Orlando

I love Carlos Vives. He is a stupendous humanitarian and individual. His music is contagious and so happy it can make a dead man dance! LOL. That said, my husband, the other couple we were with and myself had a problem with the sound. The sound for the opening act (Gusi) was really bad and SUPER loud!!! When Carlos Vives came on, the sound was really good, but then a few songs later, the sound was bad again. You could hardly understand what was being sung. Like I said, I LOVE Carlos Vives, but the concert wasn't worth what I paid for my tickets.

Amway needs to check their sound system

by Luz on 11/2/23Amway Center - Orlando

He sang good but the sound of his voice on the microphone and loud speaker was not functionally great or too low-because the music and backup singers would drown his voice. The sound team also has to consider the fans singing too.

    absolutely spectacular

by just a fan on 11/2/23Kaseya Center - Miami

since being married into the latino culture and becoming a fan of latino music. i have seen Carlos a few times. He is my favorite, and this show was no different. Absolutely an enjoyable evening. Carlos and the band were electrifying in their performance. There is an appreciation or love of his fan base and it also showed in the performance. on a side note, i really enjoyed the opening act Gusi and look forward to the day he commands his own concert tour in miami.

    Carlos vives is the best.

by JB on 11/1/23Amway Center - Orlando

Amway parking offers easy access to the event and convenience to get to the event. The entrance was a bit disorganized, but we got in easy. Concert was great! 3rd event at Amway and will continue coming back.

    Bad sound

    by d. c. on 11/1/23

Two things always happen there: the concerts do not last more than 3 hours. You must always leave the stadium at 11:30 at the latest and the sound this time was horrible, not bad, horrible.... it's a shame because Carlos Vives' performance was great

    I expected a better concert

by Marce on 11/1/23Amway Center - Orlando

Carlos Vives should leave at least a day between concerts. The day before he had a concert in Miami, so he looked so tired that his voice wasn’t the best in our concert in Orlando. He let the public and his chorus sing a lot of his songs . The concert started an hour later and last ONLY for 2 hours, way too short. I definitely won’t go back to his concerts.

    Awesome artist poor sound system

by Virgi on 11/1/23EagleBank Arena - Fairfax

I can’t tell you how hyped I was to see Carlos Vives live! We got seats at Section 115, V area, specially 9 & 10, so off to the side and up from the stage. Great view of the stage BUT we couldn’t hear CV when he spoke to the audience. It was mind blowing to see tons of speakers and not being able to HEAR what he was sharing with the audience. People around us left. We know the lyrics so singing and dancing were ok yet for the price it is REALLY frustrating to have such poor audio and sound design to cater to all seats in the house not just the ones directly in front of the stage. So all in all Carlos Vives 5 stars audio in the house (Eagle Bank Arena) 2-3 stars.
