Carlos Vives Concert Schedule

Born in Santa Marta, Colombia, Carlos Vives rose to fame in the 1990s for his unique fusion of pop and traditional Colombian vallenato music as well as his inclusion of cumbia and porro sounds. Most known for his Grammy Award win in 2002 for the album Dejame Entrar, Vives has received numerous Latin Grammy nominations throughout his career and was hailed by the Los Angeles Times as "one of Latin America's most acclaimed [musical] artists [who] embodies the very soul of Latin America."Carlos Vives live and in concert has been hailed as a beautiful mixture of cultural and musical tones. Vives, like other well-known vallenato artists, uses keyboards, full drum sets and other wind instruments. Vives's first tour was in 1997 throughout various cities in Europe and the Americas before moving to Miami to promote his music to the American audiences. Other previous tours such as the Mas Corazon Profundo and La Fiesta de Todos have seen Vives perform in countries such as France, Argentina, Mexico, Peru and many others.

Carlos Vives Background

Vives has always been a performer, often singing at family parties and church events in his hometown of Santa Marta as a child. However, his big break came in 1982 when he was performing in a nightclub and a TV producer asked him to audition for an up and coming show called Tiempo Sin Huella. Vives won the part and became a telenovela star in an acting career that spanned over 15 years. It was during this time that Vives met his first wife, Margarita Rosa de Francisco. Musically, Vives's big break came in 1991 when he earned the opportunity to sing vallenato for a part in the telenovela Escalona. Sony Discos liked the performer's rendition so much that they offered him a record deal. Vives went on to form his own record company, Gaira, and released his first album, Clasicos de la Provincia, in 1993. The album sold over a million copies and was followed up by La Tierra de Olvido in 1995, which went platinum in Latin America and Europe. His most recent Latin Grammy win came in 2016 for Record of the Year and Song of the Year with Shakira, "La Bicicleta." Throughout his 25-year career, Vives has sold over 20 million albums and won 11 Latin Grammy Awards.

  • Wish there was merch?

by Diana on 12/23/24Hard Rock Live - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

As usual Carlos Vives was a great time! I only wish there was merch to buy. I would have happily purchased a t-shirt, a keychain, even a sticker or two. I don’t understand why he doesn’t sell merch at his shows!!!

  • I love you Carlitos! 😍🥰

by Nataaaaa on 11/7/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

I had a wonderful time. He went all out with the clásicos de la provincia. I LOVED that Shakira came in and crashed his party. I could tell he was genuinely surprised. The only thing that was challenging was that it really wasn’t as loud as I expected it to be. Other than that, AMAZING ENERGY!

  • Good Show, Bad Sound

by edjimg on 11/6/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

Concert was very good. Sound at Kaseya Center could have been much better.

  • terrible sound

by Lau on 11/5/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

Unfortunately the sound was horrible, I couldn't hear it well, it became annoying and I left in the middle of the concert. Then when I found out that Shakira came into me I regretted it 🥴😁. I also love Carlos Vives but it wasn't worth it, those things shouldn't happen, his work team had to test the sound, it was very frustrating.

  • Electrifying performance

by Jordi on 11/3/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

Vintage Carlos Vives. I have been to several Carlos Vives concerts over the years. I was there when he celebrated 20 years of his career and now 10 years later, I was also there. He did not disappoint at all. The highlight of the night had to be when, unexpectedly and shockingly unbeknownst to even Carlos Vives, Shakira joined him on stage to sing La Bicicleta. The arena erupted in unison. It was an electrifying performance, indeed.

  • PA system

by Chechi on 11/3/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

While Carlos Vives and his music is amazing in its own genre, the arena or people that handles the sound could’ve done a better job at making sure the sound was 100% clear. Unfortunately it wasn’t, more like at 80-85%. It was difficult to hear the words or feel the music. But overall a great night!

  • Simply amazing!!!!

  • AMAZING!!!

by Nat on 11/3/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

I loved everything about the Carlos Vives concert in Miami. The opening act was great and ON TIME. Of course Carlos was unbelievable. Add to that Shakira surprising us on stage. WOW! The only negative was that there was no opportunity to purchase concert merchandise. Did I mention, AMAZING?

  • Not good enough

by JL on 11/2/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

  • 30 Year Celebration Uncelebrated

by RLM on 11/2/23Amway Center - OrlandoRating: 2 out of 5

I love Carlos Vives. He is a stupendous humanitarian and individual. His music is contagious and so happy it can make a dead man dance! LOL. That said, my husband, the other couple we were with and myself had a problem with the sound. The sound for the opening act (Gusi) was really bad and SUPER loud!!! When Carlos Vives came on, the sound was really good, but then a few songs later, the sound was bad again. You could hardly understand what was being sung. Like I said, I LOVE Carlos Vives, but the concert wasn't worth what I paid for my tickets.

  • Amway needs to check their sound system

by Luz on 11/2/23Amway Center - OrlandoRating: 4 out of 5

He sang good but the sound of his voice on the microphone and loud speaker was not functionally great or too low-because the music and backup singers would drown his voice. The sound team also has to consider the fans singing too.

  • absolutely spectacular

by just a fan on 11/2/23Kaseya Center - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

since being married into the latino culture and becoming a fan of latino music. i have seen Carlos a few times. He is my favorite, and this show was no different. Absolutely an enjoyable evening. Carlos and the band were electrifying in their performance. There is an appreciation or love of his fan base and it also showed in the performance. on a side note, i really enjoyed the opening act Gusi and look forward to the day he commands his own concert tour in miami.
