    Good Basketball

by Anonymous on 3/7/11Richmond Coliseum - Richmond

The basketball was as good as always watching the CAA. I was VERY disappointed when I bought row C tickets thinking we were 3 rows up and it was the first row behind 2 sets of bars that you could not see the court. We had to move from center court to a corner section to see the game.

Our family always looks forward to the CAA Chamionships at the Richmond Coliseum. It is well-organized, in a convenient location, we love the activities all around the games. The CAA has exciting tournament games, to say the least. It's a great event, all around!

    Amazing tournament!!

    by Buzzy31 on 3/9/10Richmond Coliseum - Richmond

The CAA tournament in Richmond, VA is a one of a kind event. It posts the best of the mid-majors against eachother in an elemination tourny. Exciting every year, all the games are close (minus a few first round ones). The Richmond Coliseum, while aging, is still a great venue for the game (some repairs are needed)... Plenty of concessions and extras!!!!

Caa Tournament lives up to expectations

by CAAFan on 3/9/10Richmond Coliseum - Richmond

The CAA tournament enables you to experience the varying sytles of each of the twelve teams. The tournament enables you to interact with fans from all over the east coast. The inclusion of the pep bands, dance squads, cheerleaders and student sections provides additional home court atmosphere for the games. The tournament provided many close games which game down to the final moments of the game.

    ODU vs Wlilliam & Mary

    by Cindy7 on 3/9/10Richmond Coliseum - Richmond

The tournament was awesome, great game with amazing crowd for both teams. Ticketmaster was so easy, ordered on line, walked up to will call, showed I.D. received tickets in less than 2 minutes. We had a blast. Will go again, Cindy

CAA Championship great! Venue, not so much.

by Anonymous on 3/9/10Richmond Coliseum - Richmond

I really enjoyed watching Old Dominion face the College of William and Mary on Monday, March 8. However, I did not care too much for the venue. There was plenty of open seating in the collesium, but the event staff would not let you change your seats. If you wanted to change your seat you had to be sneaky about it. When purchasing our tickets, the collesium gave us the highest level of seating in the venue for our ticket price. They could have given us closer seats by far, but chose not too. The concession stand staff were not too friendly to their customers. The end result was that the game was fun to watch, but the venue was not the best host.

ODU MONARCHS HAD LAMB FOR DINNER

    by Brewski3 on 3/8/10Richmond Coliseum - Richmond

Unbelievable game! ODU is in hostile territory at the sold out Richmond Coliseum, 70% of spectators are for VCU, the refs are all for the local team (don't we always think that?), and the ODU Monarchs are down by 12 with 12 minutes to play. VCU can smell the blood, the fans are going wild! (It sucks). The Monarchs have been in this situation before, so they gather themselves and start the climb back into the game. Gut check time! Then 'BAM!', Marsharee Neeley nails a three from the top of the key, Carter nails another, Lee hooks one in for two, and all of a sudden we're tied! Oops, did you feel that? Yep, momentum shifted! Next thing you know, overtime is done and ODU wins by 4, 73 to 69! Time for a chilly cool!

The games I saw, VCU/George Mason and VCU/Old Dominion were well played and intensed . The VCU Jazz band, dancers and cheerleaders were all spectacular. It was well worth it and Ed Nixon should not feel bad about the last shot. The CAA is a strong league and should have several teams advance to the NCAA. Old Dominion, VCU and William and Mary have wins outside the CAA in the top 25 to include Georgetown, Maryland, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, University of Richmond, ect. These teams are as strong as the ACC and yet the ACC continues to dominate over the CAA in teams represented to go to the NCAA. The City of Richmond needs to be prepared and have toilet paper and soap in the bathrooms of which there was none on Friday night. I also missed 30 minutes of the game because of problems with will call.

    Great Tournament

I love the CAA tournament. We go every year and although the team I was cheering for lost, it was still a lot of fun!

    Best Conference Tournament Deal

    by MarMad1 on 3/7/10Richmond Coliseum - Richmond

The CAA is possibly the best mens' basketball for the lowest price anywhere in this country. Repeatedly during the regular season, commentators and reporters comment that the CAA mens' basketball programs have developed into major teams, not to be ignored. Not only are tickets to the post-season championship tournament available (as compared to the ACC tournament), but they are affordable. Our experience in attending this tournament over the past four years has been that there are excellent teams playing exciting and quality basketball games. This year was no exception. In Session 3, the VCU vs. George Mason game was outstanding.

The tournament was great but the venue is awful. It is outdated the seats are uncomfortable.
