    Buttholes were unforgettable!

by SkipKing on 8/30/11Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

Straight & gay porn. Stupid gory blood & guts films. Slam dancing. All during very psychedelic music. Great fun! Like being at the Masque circa 1977! EXCEPT: (A) the Masque was never this nice (the Pearl is a beautiful room, perhaps the most beautiful in Vegas? I haven't been to enough yet to make that declaration, just moved here last Dec) (B) you didn't have to pay so much damned money for a drink!

Admittedly, I am not the most knowledge filled fan of these guys, but they absolutely blew me away. Non-stop hour plus of what seemed like an improvised jam session with some moments of songs thrown in for reference. Lived up to everything I could have hoped for from them.

BHS played many old classics that were great to hear again. Lumerians were really great as well. Bringing it with Space-psych. Great audio/visual experience.

One of the best displays of modern, twisted, psychedelia I've ever seen. Loud and fun!!

    Nothing much...

by salmon967 on 1/2/11Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

Old , all over the place... I have seen them 15 years ago in london , and it was a different gig. Oppening act was better than B. Surfers. Sad.

    Surfers still got it!

by Blueskyoverice on 1/2/11Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

First time I saw the Surfers live. Unlike their music they are not a very physical band on stage which creates an interesting tension between sound and seeing. The video effects are mildly disturbing which adds to the tension. Musically, they are very much together. A great show!

My favorite show. (Over 100 shows) Gibby is a gentleman.

    Surfing With The Buttholes!

by CosmicCharlie on 11/9/09McMenamins Crystal Ballroom - Portland

From the opening strains of The Price Is Right theme, ("Come on down!") to the toenail-smoking fun of The Shah Sleeps In Lee Harvey's Grave, the Butthole Surfers gave it to the crowd in loud, colorful quantities. Songs focused on their early career; I only recognized one song from their last three albums. The band wasn't as rambunctious as reputed, but the crowd was. Lots of happy dancing!

    respectible buttholes performance...

by jmac69 on 10/19/09CLUB NOKIA - Los Angeles

There were no flames or over-weight go-go dancers or shotguns or broken glass...but the Buttholes (and the MASSIVE Melvins) put on a solid performance.

    Butthole Surfers show was Awesome!!!

    by Lizard12345 on 10/18/09Canes - San Diego

Amazing. Electric. Mystifying. It had it all, and then some. This was the first time my hubby and I had ever seen them and it was all that and a bag of chips. They were great, we had a fantastic time. I think we might have been put into a trance at the end there, which was perfect!!!! The Melvins were awesome too. LOVED THIS CONCERT. I feel great today, this was just what I needed.

by toofarforme3 on 10/18/09The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

If they would only play some faster, more hard driving stuff, from Independent Worm Saloon and Electriclarryland.

    The Melvins were phenonemal

by jimtao on 10/18/09The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

I've seen the BS before and this time they seemed a bit tired to me. The Melvins, however, were sharp as ever and dominated the night. Psychic Ills have the potential to be special but there were enough Spinal Tap moments to hold them back from being anything other than a novelty. They were good for a few belly laughs.

good venue to see a show. It's too bad the Melvins didn't play for a bit longer. The crowd was good, got to the front of the theater with no problems. the Butthole Surfers were awesome. Worth almost $40 to walk in the front door? Kinda pricey but we had a good time overall.
