Loved the arena itself, comfortable seats, excellent food vendors, friendly, helpful ushers, huge video screen. Need better parking arrangements, perhaps some deals with local close--by garages. Best we could do was almost 1/2 mile away, tough on a cold night on bad knees. Can be a deal-breaker unless absolutely dying to see an event.
So, I went to the Barclay's Center for the College Basketball Tournament. For the most part, it was a decent experience. The court was pretty easy to see from high up, and the atmosphere, for the most part, was a family friendly one. Security kept the place pretty safe as well. Prices are pretty crazy, though. They only offered certain types of snacks, and charged an arm and a leg. I paid $14 for a small, non-refillable soda, popcorn and a pretzel. Water was another $4 as well. As for the games, I really only enjoyed the Michigan-West Virginia game. The previous games, were either "snoozers" or blow-outs. There were a few "glitches" though. As WVU was being introduced, the arena played "Hail to the Victors", Michigan's fight song. Then, as Michigan was introduced, nothing was played. Only WVU's band was in attendance, giving a sort of unfair advantage in the "spirit battles". Overall, I would go again and recommend it to a friend, but somethings should be fixed.
Attended the winter hoops festival and had a wonderful time (even though my team was thoroughly beaten!) . Good games for any basketball fan. The facilities and staff were first class. Seats were great. I was surprised how the arena looks so large from the outside, but smaller once inside. I' d love to attend a concert here as even the highest seats would be a good view. The food and drink prices are high, but they are no more than any other venue I've been to. Tons of variety in food and drink vendors. Another plus is the easy access from the subway.
Great seats and easy access to the floor. Concession stand ran out of food for last game. Bar closed with people on line. Food was great!!! large selection of food places to eat at.
the event was fun but wvu lost and was disappointed that they didn't sing the Star Spangled Banner, what gives?
Great venue, terrific food and would highly recommend you come to Barclays!
Wonderful experience at a fabulous place!! Coach Belien was the previous coach for the Mountaineers and it was quite an experience to watch him and his Wolverines play against Coach Huggins and the Moutaineers!! Always a Mountaineer at heart, but sure do love and miss Coach Belien!! Cheer for him always when his team is playing......just not against those wonderful Mountaineers!!
Great arena to watch the game. Let's Go Mountaineers!
We came to see the UM game. The arena is very nice - the motion graphics in particular.
The venue was amazing, our seats were great, my only complaint is that the Mountaineers lost!
