BTP was nothing like the ones in the past :(

by Bkduff on 8/17/09USF Theatre 1 - Tampa

The show was scaled down tremendously from the previous shows. The all black stage, along with the black costumes, became boring real quick.

    Whole show was great!

by corba on 8/4/09USF Theatre 1 - Tampa

The show was very entertaining! There was a variety of actors, dancers and singers. The show was one hour but went by in a flash. It is amazing to see this type of performance after a program of only three weeks. Alot of very talented people!

    Creative dance and song extraordinaire!

    by Yogibear64 on 8/3/09USF Theatre 1 - Tampa

It was a genuine pleasure to see students and faculty at USF meld into an hour of optimal talent and outside-the-box creativity in both song and dance. This was no carbon copy/cookie cutter presentation. Kudos to all who made this a memorable hour of impeccable entertainment.

    Broadway Theatre Project remarkable!

by ridgecounter on 8/2/09USF Theatre 1 - Tampa

Saturday night's performance by the Broadway Theatre Project was a surprising delight. The forum that this organization provides for these talented kids is without compare and Tampa should be very proud to call this process home. In an age when we are most concerned about our national future, watching these boys and girls exhibit their extraordinary talent was cause for hope.

    Broadway Theater Project in Tampa

by oldparts on 8/2/09USF Theatre 1 - Tampa

The Broadway Theater Project has made it's debut. The talent in this years Project has been phenomenal. Every student came prepared to excel in their field of endeavor, and the instructors were not disappointed. The evening shows were sold out in advance. Hats off to all involved in making the BTP a huge success.

    BTP Saturday night

    by EEK47 on 8/2/09USF Theatre 1 - Tampa

This was a good show, worth the price of admission and drive from Dunedin. The Michael Jackson number was excellent... A good number without looking like parody. The band was good, really liked the drummer.

    Students were grand!

by bardi on 8/2/09USF Theatre 1 - Tampa

The level of skill was way more than expected. These people are pros right now. Lighting and sets perfect for display of performers . . . Sound excellent . . Quality of musical selections pleasing to the ear . . Encouraging to see such enthusiasm and sparkle on the stage . . Better than some professional work that we have seen of late. Thanks for the entertainment!!

    BTP performance was AMAZING!

by BTPfan on 8/2/09USF Theatre 1 - Tampa

What a great night filled with talented students. Although some of the routines were a little too sexy for the age of the performers, all in all it was a very entertaining night.

    BTP 2009 ROCKS!

by TheatreBaby on 8/2/09USF Theatre 1 - Tampa

While I found most pieces to be energetic and stage worthy -some, I didn't get nor did I feel were captivating. The venue was extremely warm which may have added to a degree of distraction for pieces that were not very entertaining, mostly the acting pieces but BTP touches all the facets of entertainment, not just vocal and dance so of course those pieces would appeal to actors. Cell Block Tango started off the night - and the heat in the theater rose about 3 degrees! I thought many of the younger performers were a bit too scantily dressed and some routines bordered on adult dancing for their age, but that is theatre. For a wild finale, Time Warp could have been a lot more provocative with the outfits and routines - it is quite a crazy show anyway and the other numbers touched on the seductive side earlier on so it seemed a bit tame compared to that. Loved the Michael Jackson tribute!!! All in all, the audience was mostly family and friends of the performers so we are terribly biased in our reviews because we love what our kids do!
