    British Invasion STILL Invading !

by HIWATT123 on 9/15/14The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

The British Invasion concert at the Welmont Theatre was so much better than I anticipated. Each artist was the consumate performer. I have no favorites , they're all my favorites. The line up was Terry Sylvester ( The Hollies, The Swingin' Blue Jeans) Mike Pender ( The Searchers) Chad and Jeremy, Billy J. Kramer ( The Dakotas, The Walker Bros.) Denny Laine ( The Moody Blues, WIngs). Every performer was engaging and in great voice. I have to say, they're aging well. Terry Sylvester said. " I started out in the 60's , now I'm in my 60's " ! Terry did a number of Hollies hits and closed out with The Swingin' Blues Jeans, "Hippy Hippy Shakes". MIke Pender is such a fine guitar player. He played his black Rickenbacker 12 string and of course did " Needles and Pins". Chad and Jeremy were exceptional on every level and really funny. Billy J. Kramer looked great and sounded outstanding. He put out so much love and the audience gave it back. My fave. was "The Sun Ain't Gonna' Shine". He had the audience in his hands. Denny Laine,, woa! : "Go Now" and ended with everyone doing Wings , "Jet" ! What a night ! The back up band was sensational. All Gretch guitars and Vox smps. Looking mod too with black suits with stove pipe pants and Beatle boots. I was so happy to be there. As the saying goes , "You coud feel the love" . If the Brits come to town.. don't retreat.. join them and enjoy !

Great Evening Of British Invasion Fun!

by Frev on 9/15/14The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

Had a wonder time at the British Invasion show at the Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ. Great performances by Chad & Jeremy, Billy J. Kramer, Denny Laine and others on the bill. A great evening of nostalgic fun.

    Older...But Wiser!

by Herman66 on 9/15/14The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

A lot of fun....You can't help thinking'..Jeez we ALL ain't as young as we used to be...But a lot of these older acts are better than ever after 50 years of honing their stage and musical skills. Biggest surprise for me?..how great Terry Sylvester and the band performed Hollies and Swingin'Blue jeans classics! A fun night!

    More Chad and Jeremy

by AgnesB on 9/15/14The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

Overall the concert was enjoyable. I thought that Chad and Jeremy were the best performers of the evening and I would have enjoyed hearing more songs from them and less from Billy J. Kramer. I have seen Mr. Kramer before at different events. He seems to think that he is a big star. In actuality, it is difficult to watch and listen to him. The other performers were fine.

    British Invasion didn't invade

by junkyddg67 on 9/14/14Sands Bethlehem Event Center - Bethlehem

The performers who showed up were good and made for an entertaining show. However, several were not there and were greatly missed. It made for an abbreviated show.

    Where were the brits?

by Spud101 on 9/13/14Sands Bethlehem Event Center - Bethlehem

Three of the acts/singers were not there. Gerry and the Pacemakers were not there, Peter Asher was not there, Jeremy from Chad and Jeremy was not there. We got there 12 minutes late due to traffic. When we got there someone who said he was with the Hollies was singing (not on the bill). If an announcement was made saying who wouldn't be there was made in the beginning, we missed it. I read afterwards that Gerry was sick and would not be there and the Hollies person was substituted. I understand this, but too many were missing. Overall it was ok, but I didn't know many of the songs, so I can't say it was a great show for me. The band was very good, sound was good, and it looked like they all tried to be entertaining.

Gerry of Gerry and the Pacemakers was a no show. no announcememtn was made prior to the show and no offer to refund or give a rain check. The rest of the performers were excellent, but when one of the main performers is a no show, some type of refund should have been offered

    British Invasion was entertaining!

by Meekasmom on 9/13/14Sands Bethlehem Event Center - Bethlehem

While it wasn't the best show I've ever senn it was a lot of fun and very entertaining! There were a couple of minor snags but the music was good. These artists still have great voices and sang their hearts out. The band was great. I wish I would have known more of the songs especially by Billy J Kramer but oh well!

We only got half a show

by Shamol on 9/13/14Sands Bethlehem Event Center - Bethlehem

We have been to many concerts in our lives and this was on the top of the worst ever. Two of the acts we went to see were not there. Jerry and the Pacemakers did not show up at all and the announcer did not even bother to acknowledge that they were not there. Only Chad of Chad and Jeremy showed up. Jeremy appeared on Skype in his PJ's to explain that he was sick. Then they left him up on the big screen while Chad tried to do their set by himself. We felt sorry for the poor guy from the back up band that tried to fill in, although he did a pretty good job. Chad was lost and had no idea what he was doing, not even remembering his own songs. The other acts were so so at best.

    Stars are past their prime

by Tealtopaz on 9/13/14Sands Bethlehem Event Center - Bethlehem

Jerry Mazsden from Jerry & the Pacemakers was supposed to play. The Emcee did not mention to the audience that he was ill and would not perform at the Sands on 9/10. So one of the acts that I really wanted to see was not there. Also Jeremy from Chad & Jeremy was not there to perform either. They had him on video talking from England but it just wasn't the same. Chad was simply lost without Jeremy. He was the sadest act of the evening. Billy J Kramer performed the most songs of the night but he is way past his prime, time to retire Billy. Maybe 50 years of playing the same songs are enough. Too bad they couldn't get some of the other top acts of the 60's to fill in that still sound good. ie. Eric Burton, LuLu, Peter Noon, etc.

    British Invasion Tour 2014

by CrazyEddie54 on 9/13/14Sands Bethlehem Event Center - Bethlehem

Terry Sylvester came out first. His voice still holds up well after 40 years. Sang all the Hollies hits, except Long Cool Woman, which I thought would be an encore song by the entire ensemble. Mike Pender was next, but his voice was somehow buried a bit in the mix, and not as discernible as Sylverster’s. Sang all his hits, including of course, Love Potion Number Nine which closed his set, and Needles and Pins, which I have always thought to be a very strong message . Chad from Chad and Jeremy came out next, after being introduced via Skype by Jeremy (I’m not really sure why Jeremy wasn’t there), and did 3 songs. He got what I felt was the most warm-hearted ovation of the night. He seemed somewhat frail, but his voice was strong enough to get through his 3 song set. After the intermission, Billy J. Kramer came out, and let me tell you, his voice is as strong as ever. He did the longest set of the night, paying homage to Lennon and McCartney for the songs they wrote for him, and also to George Martin, even singing a song dedicated to the fact that Martin is now in the Music Hall of Fame. Denny Lane came out last, played a couple of songs that I didn’t recognize, and finished up with Go Now. The entire cast encored with Band on the Run, but Long Cool Woman was not an encore song which I thought it would be. A great night, to be sure, but just that one song that everybody wanted to hear that we didn’t get.

    British Invasion Tour

by PJRE on 9/13/14Sands Bethlehem Event Center - Bethlehem

Firstly, if someone had told me that Gerry Marsden of Gerry and The Pacemakers and Jeremy Clyde of Chad and Jeremy were no t going to be there I would have asked for a refund. I bought the tickets based upon all the performers advertised showing up. Yes the substitute was good, but not what I came to see! The first 2 acts were good, but then we sat there waiting for the next act. Even the background musicians we getting bored, talking back and forth with each other. I have never seen a more unprofessional show in my life. I taught kids vocal music for 39 years, and I have got to tell you they would have done a more professional job. Finally Chad of Chad and Jeremy wandered out on the stage. He looked like he was out of it while they played a video Skype of Jeremy telling us why he wasn't there. Or course you could not understand a word he said except that he would be flying in the next night. Didn't help us! After 3 songs he was gone. Now we had a 15 minute intermission. Intermission from what, I do not know. The rest of the show was alright with Billy J. Kraemer singing his hits. He seemed to out of breath during most of his performance, since he has gained a lot of weight. Finally Dennie Laine comes on and does 3 songs. He then comes back for an encore of McCartney's "Band On the Run". If you have tickets for any of the remaining shows, get a refund or sell your tickets. This show is a not worth your time!

the performance was just ok. I did miss Elton John but I did see the rest. Paul McCartney was the best part of the show. I was not a fan of Joe Crockren? I new a couple of his songs but not a big fan.

    What a great gift

by JoeyJohnson on 1/14/14Belterra Casino Resort and Spa - Florence

My wife and I bought these tickets as Christmas presents for both our parents. They loved the concert and in fact, my father said it was the best concert he has ever seen at Belterra. I cannot speak for the concert but can tell you I had 4 very satisfied people.
