Something good out of something bad
by AllNicknamesRTaken on 6/4/13TD Garden - BostonMy first concert was in 1978. Boston at the old Boston Garden. It was like I was 16 y.o. all over again. Remembered every word to every song. Same with J. Geils. Same with Aerosmith. Seeing them live brought back those days. They sounded just as strong, if not stronger (and sober!!) Never really was a NKOTB fan, as I was almost in my 30's when they started. However, I'm now a fan! Great job. True Parrotthead here, so I was a bit disappointed Jimmy Buffett only did 3 songs. However, it wasn't HIS show, so it made sense. James Taylor and Carole King were ok. I think they should have gone on earlier in the night. The crowd was pumped up, and they dropped the mood a bit. Love country, so Jason Aldean rocked it also. I could have done without Lenny Clarke, Steve Sweeney, and of course Dane Cooke. Each were tasteless in their own sense - there's no way Law Enforcement should have been the brunt of any jokes on this night. THEY were the reason we were kept as safe as we could have been. They were not necessary to make the event successful. There was something for everyone at the show. Although the reason for the show should never have happened, it was fantastic that something like this could be done. It should have been televised. It would have raised so much money for the OneFund. Poor decision on that end.
