All of the performers did a great job and put on an entertaining show but the Navy Blue Angels were without a doubt, the reason people came to this show. They put on a really exciting show and were well worth the hot sweaty wait. I would highly recommend anyone who gets a chance, go see the Navy Blue Angels, you will not be disappointed.
Air Show was great. Loved being right there where the planes performed their stunts. Chalets were nice to get out of the sun between flights. An okay lunch. Only complaints were that we could not bring in an ice chest. After the provided lunch, there was no ice avaliable after about 2 o'clock. Temps had to be close to high 90's there on the runway. A little ice sure would have been nice. Also, there was only water and sweet tea for drinks. As stated, we could not bring in an ice cheast. I am diabetic. The diet coke or sugar free Mountain Dew that I had to leave in the car could have helped the way I felt late in the day. Looking forward to going again next year!
The airshow was outstanding. It was extremely hot but I suppose no one was expecting it to be that warm in March/April. All of the planes were great, we really enjoyed the show.
The Tuscaloosa Air Show was indeed quite a show. The flying was very impressive as were the planes themselves. All the displays and flying birds were in beautiful condition. The weather for this years show was incredible.....clear skies and cool breezes. HOWEVER there were MANY sunburnt spectators before the day was over...including myself. Once famous man said..."you cant fix stupid" The only negatives I would say were first that parking is NOT easily accessible and second...there is NO reason for vendors to charge $4.00 FOR A BOTTLE OF WATER, OR A CORNDOG ON A STICK, OR A GLASS OF LEMONADE. This made the good price of the tickets and the free admission to the show that many enjoyed be ANYTHING but free.
The airshow didn't seem as good this time as it did the last time Tuscaloosa had it. The traffic and parking are manageable. The layout of the static line and the viewing areas for the show could be revised. I purchased tickets for reserved seating and maybe it was just me, but I don't remember it saying anywhere that I still had to bring chairs...I thought it was a bleacher style setup like last time, so we watched the show sitting on the wet grass. Good news, we were right along the fence so at least nobody blocked the view. The show did not seem as action-packed as last time either. It was alright, but kind of a let-down from the previous time.
The show was great but we were mislead regarding our accommodations; i.e., I purchased six 'seats' (numbered 1-6) but when we arrived we were surprised to discover we were expected to bring our own chairs! Nowhere in anything I saw was there any indication we needed to provided our own furniture.
GREAT!!!!! Tuscaloosa did a great job with the traffic and the show was GREAT!!!!!
Great show, especially the Blue Angels! I would go again next year.
This show just gets worse every year. Busing was allot better. Food venders near the seats was just terrible. Thousands of fans and a small hand full of food venders. No venders in the reserved area. static aircraft was at least a mile from the seating area. I have attended this show every year and drive 3 hours to do so. I will think long and hard next time. I love airshows and attend many every year. I see the worse and some of the best. Tuscaloosa has really tried to improve this show but has missed the mark in allot of areas.
I believe all of the people that was there,who came prepared to wait all day with their family really enjoyed themselves.It was also very kind of the city to furnish buses to the airshow from the parking area.All in all I would go back again and be equipped with what I need to have a fun day in the sun with family.
The chalet tickets were well worth the money spent. The facilities were great, the catered meal was superb, and the airshow was fantastic.
The weather was nice, and it made everything better.
This year was the best ever. The traffic was smoother getting in and out. The chalet set up was great. I did go to one of the corporate chalets, therefore, I cannot comment on the general admission chalets. This was a great family event. To experience the skill and training of all pilots gives me hope that the future will prevail and become better than ever. God Bless the USA and its freedoms.
There was plenty to do to keep you entertained between shows.
