About

BLACKPINK in Concert

Since first bursting onto the scene in 2016, BLACKPINK have redefined the possibilities of K-pop, transcending all categorization and ascending to global stardom. With their unstoppably catchy single "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du," the South Korean quartet shattered the record for highest-charting Billboard Hot 100 debut by an all-female K-pop act, while its head-turning video surpassed 10 million views in just six hours and amassed 36.2 million views in one day. As they continue to shake up the pop landscape, BLACKPINK are now set to deliver their first-ever U.S. performance: a much-buzzed-about appearance as one of the top-billed acts at this year's Coachella, making them the first K-pop girl group ever to grace the stage at the country's premier music festival.

Discovered by YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK is comprised of Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé—four immensely charismatic vocalists, dancers, and fashion icons. Though the group boasts a boundary-crossing appeal, they've had a particularly powerful impact on millennial and Gen Z women and girls around the world, building a passionate following who go by the fandom nickname of "Blinks." With their eclectic backgrounds—Rosé was born in New Zealand and raised in Australia, Jennie was raised in New Zealand and Korea, Lisa grew up in Thailand, and Jisoo is a Seoul native—BLACKPINK proves to be a uniquely multicultural and multilingual force within the K-pop world.

BLACKPINK on Tour

Arriving in August 2016, BLACKPINK's debut release Square One quickly proved their crossover power, with Rolling Stone praising the two-song offering as "a perfect marriage of K-pop and A-town trap." The group's tightly curated catalog also includes their debut EP Square Up, a June 2018 release that shot to #40 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Billboard World Albums chart. Several months after Square Up hit the charts, YG Entertainment and Interscope Records announced a global partnership for BLACKPINK, paving the way for the group's international breakthrough. That same month, BLACKPINK appeared as a featured artist on Dua Lipa's "Kiss and Make Up"—an October 2018 release that's garnered over 164 million streams on Spotify.

To feed the fan frenzy for their high-energy pop and irresistibly bold visuals, all four members have begun working on solo material that runs parallel to BLACKPINK's output but spotlights their distinct personalities (including Jennie's recent single "Solo," a #1 hit on the World Digital Song Sales chart). With their fast-growing following now including 19 million YouTube subscribers, 15 million Instagram followers, and 14 million monthly listeners on Spotify, BLACKPINK are currently traveling the globe on the In Your Area tour: an arena-sized run bringing their larger-than-life performance to audiences throughout North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia.

    MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCE EVER ^^

by Kim Shin on 4/20/19The Forum - Inglewood

There's so many things to say about this concert! Where do i start? Hmm.. So the day they released the tickets, i was very lucky enough to score a VIP pass. After many refresh, i was just waiting for that one moment to say 1 VIP is available. And of course, got VIP pass! I paid around $460 but my total expenses for this show was way more coz im flying to LA from SF, the same week as Coachella so all airfare have been jacked up TT. So yeah, to YG/Powerhouse, even if you price $600-$800 for a meet & greet/photo op, i would still no doubt pay for it. I only wanted the best for Blackpink and as a Blink myself. The days leading to the concert was nerve wracking! I bought 2 sets of complete outfit coz i cant decide with one and i was trying to feel the vibes of other concert goers. I joined several group on individuals going to the concert to exchange info and how were gonna survive on the day of the show. Some of my friends camped out the night before the show. I left my house at 5am and got to the Forum at 7am. I was in several line from 7am-4pm for the soundcheck. I had 2 bites of Starbucks sandwich that day and i barely drink water coz i dont want to keep on peeing and lose my spot! It was very hot and humid that day! But it was the perfect weather for a show! Soundcheck experience was AMAZING! They sang 4-5 songs if i remember correctly. I couldnt contain myself that idk what to feel. I've been following the group even before they released a song. And I have big trust and faith with their label YGE. Thats why my ultimate goal was to see them! Concert time came, i was by the barricade next to the stage. Very lucky enough to score this spot ^^. Their performance was BEYOND OUR EXPECTATIONS! All songs were sang live! Not a single dull and meh moment! Their fan service was great and you can tell that they were doing their best to interact with Blinks.

Honestly it was such a great experience and I wished it could’ve lasted longer. Time really flew by and I wanted to experience it all over again. The music was great and the seats were great. The girls were so energetic and the energy was something else. GO BLINKS.

Got to meet my favorite artists!

by Primm on 4/20/19The Forum - Inglewood

Although the event was unorganized, the concert itself was very fun and everyone there was having a great time! I met some really amazing people there too! The performance was amazing, and it was an experience of a lifetime to see Blackpink in concert. They performed all their songs plus solo songs as well. It was amazing.

    Blackpink was great but

by Maku on 4/20/19The Forum - Inglewood

The line organization was poor. After getting our numbers, instead of the staff organizing the line cleanly, you were told to just ask the others what number they were until you found your spot. In doing so, the line began to bunch up. Maybe there should have been some tents to help concert goers cool down. It was still pretty hot outside. Enough for me to get a sunburn. Some staff were nice and helpful, others were very rude and unprofessional. I will say, I like the security who were quick to run off scalpers. As for BLACKPINK? Absolutely fantastic. Even with the problems with the venue, I would GLADLY go back to see them there. I made friends there.i made great memories and that is the most important.

    blackpink concert

    by L. F. on 4/20/19The Forum - Inglewood

it was so amazing 😍 although i was in the second floor beside them and i couldn’t rly c their faces closely on the monitor screen, i still enjoyed a lot bc i got to c them in real life. omg i went w my friends and we were holding our boards that we made to cheer them, and when they were singing “stay”, rosé looked and waved at us. omg i was so happy she noticed us. all of their outfits were new and i loved them all. i literally sang all songs w them and i’m so glad that i bought the light stick. i was actually hesitating to buy it bc i was scared if i’m going to get in trouble by mom but it’s my money after all so i decided to buy it and it was rly worth it. after two hours passed, i was sad that it was already over 😢 i wanted to stay longer and it was already 10 so i had no choice but to leave. but i was shocked that on the next day when i realized that i couldn’t seen them even more closely after the concert ended, bc i watched a video on youtube abt sending them off 😭 so i hope i get another chance to c them again. but it was my first time of going to the blackpink concert and it was rly worth and a great experience for me so i rly rly enjoyed it. it was the best day of my life and i hope blackpink comes to america and have a concert again :)

    Amazing

by Maddy Myer on 4/20/19The Forum - Inglewood

Blackpink put on a show like no other. It was on another level. From the singing to the dancing choreography to the rapping. Plus their interactions with fans before, during and after the show were amazing. They were extremely happy and humble, thanking the staff and fans multiple times.
