GREAT SHOW!!!! GREAT VENUE!!!! The venue is a wonderful place to see acts up close and personal. Not a bad seat in the house. The bar area is nice, the outside bar area is even better. The staff is so pleasant, they were all so friendly and helpful. The bathrooms are great. No waiting and super clean. My husband and I really enjoyed the show. Great experience :) :) :) :) Billy Bob and the band were super friendly and it was a pleasure getting to meet them.

His songs are his personality!!! Loved it. His one song says. I want to see you. I just don’t want to hear you! That is classic!!!!

It exceeded my expectations and was an amazing show. Audience interaction and felt like we were part of the show. Funny, great music, and overall amazing night.

I saw this group at HD 105th anniversary in Milwaukee in 2008. Been waiting ever since to catch them again! The music and lyrics are awesome!

The Boxmasters put on an awesome show. Very entertaining. Definitely would see them again

This was the second time I have seen Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters and I can’t wait to see them again! The performance is much more than music, it's a window into Thornton's personal life. It has lyrics that everyone can relate to, from a teenage crush on a friend's girlfriend to pride for his less-than-exciting home town of Glendale. The Boxmasters is a tight group of outstanding musicians that will get you up on your feet. In all, great music that is just plain FUN!

I had seen this group the last time they were in Portland, ME and was so excited to see them again that I dragged friends and family with me. I was very disappointed and a little embarrassed because it was not the show I was bragging about. I’m not sure if it was the low audience turnout, the day after a busy holiday or something else behind the scenes but the concert definitely didn’t have the same vibe. The songs all seemed to be basically the same with different lyrics and Billy Bob seemed to just go through the motions, maybe even a little angry and didn’t seem to even want to be there. I’m still loving the band because I remember how fun the concert was the first time but I’m not sure if I’d go again.

Having been a fan of Billy Bob Thornton for years, I should have been ashamed not to have known of his band. When it was advertised The Boxmasters were coming to o Portland, Maine, I bought their CDs, as well as a ticket to the concert, and have been in love with their sound ever since. I’ve heard their music described as many styles and I can’t put labels on their style. All I know is that I enjoy listening and watching their concerts (and “Bud’s storytelling) so much that this 81-year-old stood for much of their recent concert here. If they play your town, don’t miss the opportunity to attend. You’ll be glad you did.

A great show, performance and venue. Billy Bob can act, sing and tell great stories. Funny and modest and super-talented. The Boxmasters were also great. The Sony Hall venue is beautiful, with its vintage Art Deco motif and we felt very comfortable.

Sony Hall is a great space. Very intimate, but Table service sucked. We never got our food! Billy Bob and the Boxmasters were very loud. Thank God for earplugs. Guy next us had his fingers in his ears the whole show. No ballads, no blues or country just straight ahead rock. Billy Bob has a good voice and the harmonies were excellent. Very tight band. They stretched out once near the end which was a nice change of pace. With maybe one other exception the songs are all very similar, same beat same arrangement. The last thing you need at a rock show is boredom. Change it up and I’ll be back

I've known who Billy Bob Thornton was for many years, but was only vaguely knew that he was involved with a band. When I knew they were coming to Portland, I obtained all of their CDs and what a treat it was to discover new music. The concert was everything I expected. What great musicians and fun music. Unfortunately, Portland didn't give them the sell-out crowd they deserved, but that did not stop them from putting on a top notch show. Billy Bob is such a great story teller, even if he's told the story a hundred times before. If you get a chance to see THE BOXMASTERS, don't hesitate. A great night of entertainment.

The music was very similar for every song and the lyrics were very plain. We only stayed for about 4 songs. First concert that I paid for that I left early. I probably should have headed other reviews. Many of them were spot on. Billy Bob star power is the only draw.

It's not country, it's not rock, its not jazz, but it's a great fusion of music. As long as your not expecting sling blade impressions, and you Like live music, you should enjoy.

Billy Bob’s musical talents shine in his performance with his band The Boxmasters. Their unique style, sound, and creative lyrics (they write all their own songs) captivate you. You want to hear more songs and the colorful stories that accompany them recounted by Billy Bob. These guys are serious about their music and after hearing them you will be too. If you have an opportunity to attend one of their concert, don’t miss it!

Stick to acting. Terrible music. Everything sounded the same—- ai 110 decibels

This show had kind of a Beatles vibe, perhaps partly due to the retro-looking suits the band members were wearing, and partly due to George Martin producing some of their music. The music was good, albeit a little hard to put into a genre box. Certainly not country or alt-country, which is what I was hoping for. Certainly not a good pairing for Trace Adkins, which is forthcoming. More like 60s British invasion/surf pop, I'd guess. I liked it, but I may have been in the minority. I got the distinct impression that if a famous actor wasn't fronting this band, it wouldn't have much of an audience. Still, some of the songs were pretty groovy. I especially liked "I Got Glendale" and "Summertime In L.A. Again", but again, I may have been in the minority.

Billy Bob Thornton and his band were amazing! All of their material was original, and Billy Bob was humorous during breaks in between songs. My husband and I totally enjoyed our experience.

2ND TIME SEEING THEM...1ST TIME DIDN'T WANT TO GO AS THOT HE MUST BE SOME KIND OF WEIRDO....STRANGE CHARACTERS IN FILMS! NO <<< AWESOME ! SCREENWRITER, DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, ACTER, SONGWRITER, MUSICIAN, SINGER. THIS SHOW WAS NO DISAPPOINTMENT, THE BOXMASTER'S WERE GREAT AND WITH THE SMALL VENUE AT THE RED ROCK?
