Bill Maher on Tour
As fearless as any stand-up to take the stage, Bill Maher has never been shy about letting audiences know what he's thinking. With the razor-sharp wit he's brandished since his start in New York's comedy scene in the late â70s, Maher's candor has made him not just a comedy icon but one who's keenly attuned to the ever-changing worlds of politics and popular culture.
In his regular live appearances, Maher flaunts the same caustic but clear-eyed humor that's made HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher a television institution since 2003. Skewering idiocies, banalities and hypocrisies from across the political spectrum, Maher doesn't flinch from controversial topics of the day, and he finds laughs in subjects that other comedians don't dare to touch.
Bill Maher Background
No subject in politics or culture is safe from Bill Maher's reliably ruthless wit. Politically incorrect and proud of it, he is a comedian and commentator who plays by no one else's rules. This quality has made him a favorite of audiences and TV viewers for over four decades.
After cutting his teeth at his hometown's legendary comedy club Catch a Rising Star in the late â70s, the native New Yorker gained a wider profile through appearances on The Tonight Show and Late Night with David Letterman. He got his chance to show off his own skills as a talk show host when Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher debuted on Comedy Central in 1993. The Emmy-winning late-night political show continued to garner laughs and controversy on ABC from 1997 to 2002.
Since 2003, Maher and his guests have enjoyed free rein on Real Time with Bill Maher, the fearless and freewheeling talk show that begins its 18th season on HBO in 2020. But as busy as he may be on his own show and as a guest commentator on CNN, MSNBC and elsewhere, Maher is always ready to demonstrate his enduring prowess as a live stand-up in venues throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Smart, assertive, charismatic and extremely funny. I highly recommend Billâs show.
It was ok. Lots of recycled jokes from his show. He should have a local opening act to compliment his show.
Once he gets in a zone he is really connecting with everyone.
I was pleasantly surprised at how often I laughed! Bill was great! I have to say I was annoyed about his stance on college to not attend. Education is NEVER a waste!! But other than that, it was fun!! Thanks so much, Bill!
Quintessential Maher! -- Interestingly, he cleverly and smoothly said things that appealed to the different (and opposing) political biases in our society . . . . in a way that the audience nevertheless felt united! Amazing!
He was very funny. We really enjoyed the venue and had great seats. Canât wait until next year to see him again.
Great act, heâs insightful, opinionated, and hilarious!
Bill Maher remains one of my favorite comedians. These days he is the last sane voice in todayâs political landscape.
Bill is always on his game and in form. Great venue, good performance- everything youâd expect.
Seats in front row were SO crowded, but Bill was great. Show was hilarious!
It was awesome, best comedy show I have ever seen.
Great show! I would see him again. The venue made the show more enjoyable. You were not all packed together. Thank you Bill Maher!!
Bill was funny as always. I was glad to see him in person after all these years
Disappointed. We are regular viewers of his Friday night television program and appreciate the informative and cleaver programming as well as the guests he interviews. The live show was disappointing due to its obvious use of teleprompters with no mention of current events.
Bill Maher brings a fresh show to stage and you will not leave without some sore ribs from laughing so hard. He pulls no punches and welcomes everyone to his show. He is engaging and funny and I'm so glad I was able to see him live on stage and away from his HBO show. I'm so glad I went and I will be going again.
The show was good, but Bill is now reading from notes. Kind of distracting.
We watch Bill Mahrâs show every Friday so we are big fans. Because we were going to be in Vegas to see U2 that weekend, we decided to see Bill Mahr Friday night and he did not disappoint. Love the fact that he calls out both sides on their BS. He has the ability to be brutally honest thatâs hard to argue with. His observations and the way he presents them are hilarious and sometimes frightening. He will make you laugh out loud but also give you something to think about and discuss with your friends. I wish more of our politicians could be as honest, frank and balanced. Go see this show.. youâll be glad you did.
We parked right next to the venue, was so convenient. Venue was great and Bill Maher was hysterical. So glad to see him live!
Although every time I have seen Bill Maher he is excellent, this was the funniest show that I have seen Bill present. Really hit home with me. His delivery is dead on and completely packed theatre crowd laughed the entire way through
