About

Scotland's Biffy Clyro have been making anthemic arena rock together for more than 20 years. Comprising Simon Neil (guitar, lead vocals), James Johnston (bass, vocals) and Ben Johnston (drums, vocals), Biffy Clyro have entertained fans the world over with their winning combination of grunge, pop and progressive rock.

Originally formed in the late '90s in Glasgow, Biffy Clyro began as a club band, largely influenced by pop-rock forbearers Weezer. After growing a local following, the trio released their first EP, 2000's Thekidswhopoptodaywillrocktomorrow. Their first single, "27," was released not long after, and in 2002, they released their studio debut album, Blackened Sky.

In 2003, the band shared a follow-up effort, The Vertigo of Bliss, and toured aggressively to build momentum. In 2004, Biffy Clyro released their third album, Infinity Land, and three years later, they shared the single "Saturday Superhouse" and news of a fourth album: Puzzle.

In 2009, Biffy Clyro released their fifth studio album, Only Revolutions, which featured singles like "Mountains," "Bubbles" and "Many of Horror." Only Revolutions went platinum in 2010 and even earned the band a prestigious Mercury Prize nomination.

In 2012, Biffy Clyro announced their sixth studio album, Opposites, which was released in 2013 and featured the single "Black Chandelier." Opposites debuted at the top of the charts, marking their first-ever No. 1 on the Official UK Album Chart. That year, the trio embarked on their second-ever world tour.

In 2016, Biffy Clyro returned with their seventh studio album, Ellipsis, which they recorded in Los Angeles with producer Rich Costey. The album featured the singles "Wolves if Winter" and "Animal Style." To promote the album, Biffy Clyro headlined a number of major festivals, including the Reading and Leeds Festivalsl in 2016 and the Download Festival in 2017. That same year also saw the release of Biffy Clyro's unplugged live album recorded at London's Roundhouse.

In 2019, the band branched out somewhat by soundtracking Jamie Adams' film Balance, Not Symmetry. The following year, Biffy Clyro released a new full-length, A Celebration of Endings, which was also produced by Costey. They circled back one year later with a companion album, The Myth of Happily Ever After. Catch Biffy Clyro on tour when they hit a city near you.

    Awesome!

by CassandraAB on 4/4/17The Belasco Theater - Los Angeles

This is the third time I've seen Biffy Clyro live, each time at a different venue. No matter what venue, the performance is always lively and fun. The lighting was exciting and perfectly suited the music, and the sound was well-balanced.

    by Mud07 on 4/2/17Neptune Theatre - Seattle

An amazing show! Definitely unforgettable. The music was great and the venue had tremendous character. Would definitely come back for another show there, and will try to see Biffy play in the future. Been listening to them for years and it was amazing to see them live!

    Incredible

by SeattleChops on 4/2/17Neptune Theatre - Seattle

This band never ceases to amaze me. Their live show is so different than their albums. Pure energy and musical intricacy. I have seen of 500 shows, and Biffy is top 10. And Neptune is always good acoustically as long as you are not under the balcony. Great time!

Biffy were their usual energetic and raucous selves. Shame they didn't play one song from Blackened Sky though.

The lads put on such a great show and were so connected to the audience! The Fillmore is such an amazing place to see a band because you can get so close to the stage. Lots of energy, we had this "thing"! Come back to SF soon!!!!

Biffy Clyro is the best live band!!!

by vincentstar83 on 3/29/17The Belasco Theater - Los Angeles

Biffy is the best and played a great mix of all their albums. The venue doesn't allow crowd surfing or much movement of any kind and wouldn't even let the man in front of us have his little girl on his shoulders! Other than the bummer security and good night and great show.

    Must See Live!

by AdamWest11 on 2/16/14Great American Music Hall - San Francisco

I can't believe I got to see a band like this in such a small venue. They are hands down one of the best live acts I have ever seen. I was a fan before and now am an even bigger fan after seeing them live. If they are in town, see them. Impossible to be disappointed.

    Biffy Clyro Kicks Ass Live

by MissKitty09 on 10/13/13Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

Awesome show! Simon and the boys rocked the house for sure. Lots of energy and really tight performance both vocally and sound wise. I wish they came to the U.S. more often.

by josiahluke on 10/13/13A and R Music Bar - Columbus

Biffy Clyro is an amazing band. They played their hearts out, even at a relatively small venue. They're extremely talented and expert showmen. Go see them if you have the chance!

Biffy Clyro- Huge Sound, Small Venue

by JGBemes on 10/13/13A and R Music Bar - Columbus

I can't believe this band is not hugely popular in the US. They came out and played a blistering 20-song set, all the while interacting with the crowd of several hundred. This was a special treat for Biffy Clyro fans, considering the magnitude of their headlining shows in Europe. I would highly recommend anyone seeing them play, at any opportunity. The A&R Music Bar is a really cool venue to catch a show, and featured some of the best pizza I've ever eaten. I look forward to seeing more bands perform there.

Had a wonderful time. Biffy Clyro was a very entertaining band and most of the audience was going crazy. So much fun! Morning Parade was excellent as well.

    Absolutely incredible show!

by Bosey2013 on 10/11/13A and R Music Bar - Columbus

Drove 3 hours from Pittsburgh to see them for the first time and if I were 5 years younger, I would've gone to see them in Philly as well. They played this tiny club with the same passion and energy as if they were playing a huge festival crowd. Love the band and certain songs even more after seeing this show. It's all I've been thinking about since. Thanks Biffy and hope to see you again soon.

The whole show was definitely come of the greatest I've been to! I never heard of Morning Parade before, but I'll definitely be getting into them now! Biffy Clyro was even better than I could've expected! I had the greatest time and can't wait until they return to the area!

Brighton Music Hall was an incredible small place which gave you the opportunity to be as close to the band as possible. The performance of the musicians was unforgettable and we really enjoyed ourselves!

Biffy is awesome. Their live performance is unbelievably good. You might have seen them guest performing for others, but their own show has much more characters! Thanks Simon, James and Ben!

    Biffy Clyro

by asdfghjkl212345678 on 10/5/13Brighton Music Hall - Boston

Biffy Clyro played absolutely amazing. Song choices were well-varied and the performances were top-notch. I wasn't sure what to think of what I heard from Morning Parade prior to the concert, but afterwards I was very eager to hear everything they put out. If Biffy Clyro comes back to the states again, I'll drop everything I'll be doing and go see them again. I recommend you do the same.
