    Marketing of Betty White disappointing

by Anonymous on 3/21/11Gilda's Laughfest - Grand Rapids

Betty White is a wonderful performer, and I was glad a portion of my ticket price benefited Gilda's Club - a wonderful charity. I was disappointed in the marketing and advertising of this event - not Betty White herself. The marketing made it sound like Betty was going to actually perform, when this was not the case. The "interview" was nice, but not what was advertised. In addition $85 was a lot to spend, in regard to seating provided for this price range - we were not able to see her other than via video screen. $85 was a lot to pay to view a "simulcast".

Betty White is one of a kind

by fanofGilda on 3/18/11Gilda's Laughfest - Grand Rapids

The Laughfest event with Betty White was an engaging, heartwarming autobiographical journey that was humorous as well as thought provoking. The room felt intimate even though it was filled with hundreds of people. The event was extremely well organized. It could not have been better.

    What a treat!

by braem on 3/18/11Gilda's Laughfest - Grand Rapids

The look on my daughter's face when Betty White stepped onto the stage in the simulcast hall made my day! I was so hoping she would grace us with a few "live" moments but when Ms White actually walked out I was caught by surprise. Thank you!

    Betty White is a delight

by TR79 on 3/18/11Gilda's Laughfest - Grand Rapids

The simulcast was great fun. Nearly as good as being in the room with Betty White and for a fraction of the price. ;) On top of that, Betty came out to greet us in the Simulcast room before going to the Ballroom for her show! Her actual show was wonderful, she is so funny and has such great stories to share and is so grateful. Good lessons in enjoying what you have with someone while you have it, she talked about how when she found out she would lose her husband they agreed to not waste a second they had left together.

    Betty White dissapoints

by boomerjst on 3/17/11Gilda's Laughfest - Grand Rapids

Expecting a comedy routine, got a talk show. Could have got as much looking her up on Youtube. Dissapointed in the format with which this was presented. Still love Betty White just not the way she was presented at this time.

    We love Betty!

by FaithHopeGraceLove on 3/17/11Gilda's Laughfest - Grand Rapids

Who could not love Betty White? She was fantastic! The evening was nice, but for $250 per person, I thought they might serve something more substantial than a "High class HotDog!" Yes- a Hot Dog. It's going to a good cause, but my boyfriend stopped on the way home to get some real dinner.

"Better than anyone else I know" what a life and what a great opportunity to be a small part of it. Betty White was great, one of the legends. Food was fabulous, enjoyed going alone and meeting new people, well organized...but the best...Betty White. What an inspiration for this 60 something....woohooo

Not what I had expected. I thought it would be more stand-up or with skits. I didn't know it was going to be an interview with video clips from what has already been on TV. Betty White herself was great- very sweet and comical. The staff there was very friendly. We had gotten lost in the building trying to find the place and a securty guard brought a wheelchair for my 86 yr old grandmother.

    Great Show - Love Betty

by Legalisa on 3/17/11Gilda's Laughfest - Grand Rapids

I was expecting to watch a world-famous super talent on the big screen for a great show. What we got was that famous talent actually appearing live for us before the show just to say hello and thank you to us for being there. Betty White is such a gracious and entertaining gal. We loved the format of the show, an interview format, in that it gave Betty a chance to use her impromptu comedy and offered video montages of her past performances. It was fun, funny and dignified. Thank you Betty for coming to Grand Rapids to celebrate Laughfest and the cause of Gilda's Club, giving a smile back to those suffering from cancer or loss.

How could anyone not adore Betty!!

by MareSue on 3/17/11Gilda's Laughfest - Grand Rapids

Our visit with Betty White was most enjoyable. I was a bit confused about the performance upfront, not realizing she would be visiting with a moderator. However, it was well thought out and the overhead screens not only projected her beauty but also at times many photos of her life. I did not realize I was purchasing General Admission tickets but we got there early to get good seats. I wouldn't do this for many other performers but Betty is special. The volunteers/staff assisting us were very helpful which made our experience even more enjoyable.

    Betty White

by CinAn on 3/17/11Gilda's Laughfest - Grand Rapids

I was disappointed in the format. The Password clues were ridiculous. I think the MC was boring and not interesting. It was a nice to see Betty White in person, even though we were in the last row, in the furthest corner next to the doors!!

Betty White is awesome @ 90!

by BettyFan on 3/17/11Gilda's Laughfest - Grand Rapids

What an evening! Betty White is just the sweetest person you could ever meet. Her comedy is real - not forced or fake. She is very humble about where she's at in her career and says her health is due to great genes from her parents. Whatever it is, Betty inspired all of us to live each day to the fullest and "taste every moment". She is truly an icon and worth seeing if you have the opportunity.

    Betty White is amazing!!

by mortalkiss on 3/17/11Gilda's Laughfest - Grand Rapids

I was so thrilled when there were tickets released for the simulcast of Betty White. I could not afford to go to the actual show. I did not want to miss seeing her and this was a great deal. The best part of it was that she did make a surprise appearance. It was a wonderful evening at a great price.
