About

Best Coast – comprised of Bethany Cosentino (vocals, guitar) and Bobb Bruno (guitar) – has released three critically and culturally acclaimed albums over the last decade while touring the globe, selling out headline shows, and opening for the likes of Green Day, Paramore, Pixies, Death Cab For Cutie, and more. Now they've returned with an incredible new song, entitled "For The First Time." Says Cosentino about the track, "It's about feeling comfortable in your own skin and looking at the skin you had to shed to get there and being OK with it all." It is the initial taste of the forthcoming Best Coast album, Always Tomorrow, which is due for release in 2020.

The concert was very good for anyone who loves Best Coast. The Fox Theater was a very nice venue and much larger than expected. Parking was just a couple blocks away and there looked to be some good restaurants close to the venue.

The show was very bland, one song after the other and very little interaction with the audience. I enjoyed the music but after 3 or 4 songs it was a bit boring.

Best Coast was AWESOME live!! I highly recommend seeing them even if you aren't the biggest fan. I went because my girlfriend loves Best Coast and they are definitely my new favorite :)

    Loved It

by IreneLovesWavves on 3/1/11The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

The show itself was amazing. The artists played killer music, they were interactive and real with the audience, and the atmosphere was really great. I love the Regency Ballroom because the stage is so close to the audience that you feel at one with the show. Its also nice that there is an upstairs area where there is actual seating if wanted. The only fault is that there was a lot of craziness in within the crowd, but if you're gonna go se Wavves and Best Coast it should be expected. Loved the show!

    lackluster.

by jonyee on 3/1/11The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

i am a huge fan of both of these bands but i must say i was quite underwhelmed by their show at the regency ballroom. wavves definitely brought the energy and had a pretty good set, but best coast was honestly a mess. no stage presence at all, at one point she failed to play one of her utterly simple guitar parts and apologized simply with "i smoked too much marijuana today." the crowd gave a cheer, but i have to wonder if anyone else felt a little ripped off... the beauty of best coast is the simple effortlessness, this was a bit painful. by the end of the encoreless set i was ready to sleep.

    Summer Lasted forever

by RhodaDRamone on 2/28/11The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

Really long show with 4 bands. Wavves and Best Coast were amazing and a lot of fun. Hunx and his Punx are a great band and was really happy to see them.

    Suitably Loud

by rookiephenom on 2/28/11The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

Waaves was less distinctive than I expected...many songs sounded the same. Seemed like the band was not getting along that well. Best Coast was stoned...as expected. Screwed up set list and had a couple of false starts, but eventually got into the groove. Regency is a terrific venue...well run and friendly staff. They even tidy up the bathrooms during the show. Drinks were very pricy, though.

    Favorite show of 2011

by Mattxr1 on 2/28/11The Music Box - Hollywood

This was one show I'll never forget. The energy was electric... Wavves and Best Coast seemed excited to be playing at home in LA and the vibes reverberated into the crowd. The sound was great... no muffled vocals, although there was some weird radio feedback coming from Bethany's amp or mike. I loved how each band didn't need an elaborate set to play a high energy, exciting show. It was as raw as it comes, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. I'm looking forward to seeing Best Coast again at Coachella.

Best Coast makes me wanna have a crush!!!

by JizBob on 2/28/11The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

Best Coast was a lot of fun to watch!! She's young, cute, and her songs speak to a girl in like/love. That might be the reason the place was filled with high school kids.

The music was good but the sound was muddy, distorted and terrible. The place was packed but the crowd just didn't seem to get into the show. Could it be because of the sound maybe? I would have rather seen them at a smaller venue. But I still love the music!

worst opener EVER! ...completely painful to listen to and obnoxious to watch. The sound of all the bands was muffled and the vocals inaudible.

    Ehh

by ddogdoomsdaymillionaire on 2/26/11The Music Box - Hollywood

I mostly went for WAVVES but also wanted to check out Best Coast. WAVVES was fun, as expected, but frankly, in the future, I will probably not pay venue fees to go see them. They really seem like a band that should only play at backyard gigs and smelly holes in the wall places, which is not an insult because those can be very fun times. What I'm saying is, WAVVES really can't justify charging a lot of money for shows; but I guess it was Best Coast that made the price. WAVVES really is fun but I probably won't pay to go see them again. Also, I am not a huge fan of Best Coast. All their songs sounded the same to me and honestly, their performance quite bored me. The singer is a good singer and I give them props for being a hardworking band from LA and working their way up, but I will not go see them again.

Best Coast and Wavves were so much fun and really good live. It would be worth your time in money to go, just make sure you get floor tickets and not balcony.

    Wavves!

by mindbomb on 2/26/11The Music Box - Hollywood

Wavves rocked the house. Their set was tight and relentless. Best Coast sounded muddy and out of tune. Either they did no sound check, their sound guy had taken fourteen bottles of antihistamine, or they just aren't good live. You couldn't tell anything apart. It all sounded like mush. Hunx was like the offspring of the Cramps and the Sex Pistols playing Doo Wop in the background of A John Waters movie. If it was 1975 they would have been revolutionary.

by Yeneyev on 2/26/11The Music Box - Hollywood

Best Coast is amazing. Amazing. I just love their sound, the feel of the music...they are awesome. This is the third time I've seen them in LA and it won't be the last.
