BERLIN IN CONCERT:

LA new wave favorites Berlin rose to international acclaim in the early '80s with a string of synth-laden hits anchored by Terri Nunn's powerful voice and charismatic persona. Three decades later, Nunn and co. sound as fresh as ever, flooring fans with razor-sharp, infinitely cool renditions of classics like "The Metro" and "No More Words." As stylish today as they were in the '80s, Berlin is sure to take fans' breath away on their upcoming tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in LA in 1978, Berlin got an initial boost when their early single "Sex (I'm A...)" was banned by several radio stations for its graphic lyrics — a move that only heightened the band's popularity with fans. Their gold-selling 1982 debut album Pleasure Victim added to their risquè reputation, establishing them as one of new wave's biggest bands with hits like "The Metro" and "Masquerade." 1984's Love Life was a similar success, boasting the dance floor-ready "No More Words," but it was the 1986 release of Count 3 & Pray that launched them to the apex of their fame. Lead single "Take My Breath Away" was featured in 1986 blockbuster Top Gun, propelling the album to the top of charts around the world and earning the band an Academy Award for Best Original Song. A consummate live act renowned for Nunn's seductive stage presence, Berlin gives fans much to look forward to as they hit the road on an upcoming tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Terri is unreal, her voice is outstanding. This venue cannot contain her voice nor can the speakers."

"So much fun and Terri still brings it, just as enthusiastic and energetic as ever. She seems to not age. Still the BOMB!"

"Terri Nunn is amazing!!! Her voice is incredible. I would see them play again and again!"

    Great Show

    by fraamus on 4/24/12Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

I saw Berlin about 6 years ago and their show was great but I went to see Scandal. Patti Smyth worked the audience like a pro and sounded great. Wish she was the headliner so we could hear more songs.

    she still has it

by Strummer031 on 4/19/12Thunder Valley Casino Resort - Lincoln

Teri did a great job bringing us back to the 80's with her current version of Berlin. Her vocals were spot on and she did not disappoint. The crowd was into the show as well and drew Teri out into a great performance. Her new material was heartfelt and reflective to some past moments in her life while still maintaining the "Berlin feel". I would go see them again. Special note: drummer threw sticks into the crowd midway through show and Teri signed the one I caught after the show. Awesome.

    Berlin was amazing

by Sandman5577 on 4/16/12The Canyon - Agoura Hills

Berlin was flawless and put on an amazing show as always. The food was great and I would have to say the Canyon Club is my new favorite spot to see a band on an intimate level.

    Berlin still rocks

by Boltage on 4/16/12Thunder Valley Casino Resort - Lincoln

Bought tickets last minute to surprise my wife who loves Berlin. Wasn't sure what to expect. These guys rocked for 90 minutes without a break and sounded as good or better than they did 25 years ago. Terri Nunn sounded and looked amazing while giving a very entertaining performance. She also did a meet-and-greet with anyone who wanted to after the show. My wife actually got a chance to meet and speak with one of her idols. Great job Terri, Berlin, and Thunder Valley!

    Berlin was great!

by GGSF on 4/16/12Thunder Valley Casino Resort - Lincoln

Once you get past the smoke in the casino, the venue is great. Small and intimate. Great crowd, some believing it is still the 80's! Terri Nunn looked and sounded great! The band played all the classics and threw in some good new songs. Great night with a fun crowd and great music!

    Berlin Rocks!

by Randyman1 on 4/15/12Thunder Valley Casino Resort - Lincoln

Terri Nunn looks and sounds amazing. The band was tight and the stage presence was every bit as good as the 2 times I saw them in the early 80's in Santa Cruz. Love the new tunes and hope you continue for many moons.

Amazing show, Terri and the band were wonderful. She really knows how to work a crowd and she's never sounded better. The sound was really good, not too loud. Loved every minute of it.

    Berlin at Thunder Valley

by charliedontsurf on 4/15/12Thunder Valley Casino Resort - Lincoln

Terri Nunn was great, although to say this was Berlin is a stretch. I doubt the bandmembers were born when Berlin was at its peak. She sang and played to the crowd well, and came across as a lead singer that wanted you to have fun and put on a good show.

    Terri still in great form

by Egnaro on 4/15/12Thunder Valley Casino Resort - Lincoln

It was a fun show, better than most of the 80's band concerts I've seen lately. People who got there early got wristbands and got to dance on stage with the band during one of the songs ("Touch"). Terri also got off the stage and walked down one of the aisles. She has already taken her heels off so she stood up on one of the chairs in the aisles. Terri looked and sounded great. The sound for the guitar and keyboards was a little too low and the drums too loud, but other than that a great show that I wish went on a little longer.

Berlin was most excellent, I honestly couldn't have expected any better! Terri was very engaging and interacted with the audience a lot, by the end of the show she had everyone up and dancing. Terri even danced on the tables and walked through the crowd-- at one point she personally sang to me! It was incredible. They're fun to watch and had a great mix of old hits and some unheard new songs. I would definitely see them again!

    Berlin still ROCKS!!

by PhebeK on 9/29/104th and B - San Diego

Terri Nunn was amazing...she looked great and sounded phenomenal! She was great about interacting with the audience....loved that she came out into the audience and made contact. The music took me back to my younger days and I really enjoyed seeing Berlin live. I saw them live in a small venue in the early 1980's in Indianapolis and I think this performance was just about as great as then. We are all just a little more mellow now. Terri---keep it up, we love you!

    Berlin (San Juan Capistrano, CA)

by Nuumann on 8/29/10Coach House - Capistrano - San Juan Capistrano

Excellent! Terri Nunn still has the pipes, her vocals were crisp, dynamic and just spot on . The band provided plenty of bite as the hometown crowd fed off of their high energy playing. Strange though, there was no bass player. The set consisted of a good selection of both old and new songs. Maybe the best concert I have seen this summer! Nothing beats seeing one of your favorite 80's bands in a small venue.

    BERLIN ALWAYS BRINGS IT!!!

by geminisk8s on 5/29/10House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! Terri Nunn's responsiveness to her audience is unbelievable, her stage presence is ginormous, and the way she and her band work together to create a show is the way it should be done. they don't need props, but unlike so many other bands out there, you're never left feeling like it was great music....but that's all it was. The band plays together...and PLAYS together - flirting on appropriate songs making the lyrics that much more powerful and unforgettable. Terri rocks, she shares personal stories to make the audience feel included in her life, they share photos of the band going back to childhood, and Terri both goes out among the audience singing and invites the audience onstage to sing with her, so that when she sings more personal lyrics, you are right there in the emotion with her. This is music and showmanship at its finest!
