BERLIN IN CONCERT:

LA new wave favorites Berlin rose to international acclaim in the early '80s with a string of synth-laden hits anchored by Terri Nunn's powerful voice and charismatic persona. Three decades later, Nunn and co. sound as fresh as ever, flooring fans with razor-sharp, infinitely cool renditions of classics like "The Metro" and "No More Words." As stylish today as they were in the '80s, Berlin is sure to take fans' breath away on their upcoming tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in LA in 1978, Berlin got an initial boost when their early single "Sex (I'm A...)" was banned by several radio stations for its graphic lyrics — a move that only heightened the band's popularity with fans. Their gold-selling 1982 debut album Pleasure Victim added to their risquè reputation, establishing them as one of new wave's biggest bands with hits like "The Metro" and "Masquerade." 1984's Love Life was a similar success, boasting the dance floor-ready "No More Words," but it was the 1986 release of Count 3 & Pray that launched them to the apex of their fame. Lead single "Take My Breath Away" was featured in 1986 blockbuster Top Gun, propelling the album to the top of charts around the world and earning the band an Academy Award for Best Original Song. A consummate live act renowned for Nunn's seductive stage presence, Berlin gives fans much to look forward to as they hit the road on an upcoming tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Terri is unreal, her voice is outstanding. This venue cannot contain her voice nor can the speakers."

"So much fun and Terri still brings it, just as enthusiastic and energetic as ever. She seems to not age. Still the BOMB!"

"Terri Nunn is amazing!!! Her voice is incredible. I would see them play again and again!"

by Kevin S on 9/20/22Bally's Lake Tahoe - South Lake Tahoe

The show was fantastic. She mingled with the crowd. Went into the crowd and sang with the audience. Great audience participation! Very intimate setting. Up close and personal. Only down side was get your drinks when you walk in as they only have two bars and the line becomes very, very, very long! Great show!!! Highly recommend!

    Good but...

by G on 9/20/22Bally's Lake Tahoe - South Lake Tahoe

The show itself was good just as it has been the many times I've seen them. But it was a little on the short side. Barely over an hour. Wondering why?

    48 years later...

by T. L. on 9/20/22Bally's Lake Tahoe - South Lake Tahoe

My very 1st concert At 15 years old was Berlin and the Thompson Twins playing at Lawler Events Center in Reno, Nevada. The whole show was awesome!!! That's when I fell in love with Berlin! This time, the venue was awesome and intimate and the show was flawless... Terri Nunn doesn't age and neither does her voice! She was so humble and came into the audience, danced and sang with the audience members. The whole band was great! It was a magical and uniting night! 5 Stars easily!!!!

Can I Get to South Lake Tahoe?

    by E. E. on 8/19/22

Berlin was awesome and amazing! Terri singing 'Magic' to honor Olivia Newton-John was so sweet and heartfelt and brought me to literal tears. I was utterly hypnotized as "Dancing in Berlin" had me up and dancing feverishly, heart palpitating, and feeling the catchy beats in every cell of my being. Yay! Love!

by The Ozz Family on 6/29/22Viejas Casino & Resort - Concerts in the Park - Alpine

in general great concert relaxing music of the 80'sgreat seats the only issue is when people stand up to dance they should move over to one side or the other just don't stand up in front of other guest who can't stand for long periods of time because they are handicap they like to see the performers, also.

    Berlin concert

by JD on 6/29/22Viejas Casino & Resort - Concerts in the Park - Alpine

My x girlfriend wanted to see Berlin with me again . We had seen them in Big Bear a few years ago. While she was a big fan of Berlin , I got tickets because she wanted to go. I liked the show in Big Bear better. The concert here at Viejas casino was short and I didn’t leave feeling as satisfied with the concert as the first time. There were no encores and the crowd didn’t stay and clap to hear more.

    Always great

by Nugget on 6/29/22Viejas Casino & Resort - Concerts in the Park - Alpine

Berlin always puts on a great show. They interact with the audience and that really gets you into the performance. I just wish the concert was longer. Love the smaller venue locations. Ticketmaster makes it an easy experience (entry) with their app.

Terri Nunn and band sound the same as when they first started. Amazing group. Wife and I had a great time. Wife and Terri share the same birthday. We've been following Belin since early 80's.

    Great Show

by Scott200c on 6/29/22Viejas Casino & Resort - Concerts in the Park - Alpine

Had a great time. Berlin sounded great and the venue was a nice, outdoor place to take in a concert. the band played many of their hit songs and hearing them play AC/DC's Highway to Hell towards the end of the show was an unexpected treat. . I saw the band back in 1984 or 85. Needless to say the crowd a a but older this time around.

by Surfershig on 6/29/22Viejas Casino & Resort - Concerts in the Park - Alpine

Outside venue at Viejas casino in Alpine. Ample parking (free) free shuttle ride on golf carts to the venue. Complimentary bottle water, two bars, hot dog stand with nachos, chips and snacks- very well managed event! Terri Nunn still has an impressive voice, band still rocks it. Great acoustics, line up and music, it was awesome!

Go see Berlin! Just not at the Canyon Club.

by Tom on 8/22/21The Canyon Montclair - Montclair

I had read previous reviews of the Canyon Club Montclair and they proved to be correct. Ample free parking in a nice suburban shopping center, but the whole "gotta by a meal to get a decent seat" is a rip off, especially considering the extremely poor quality food. To borrow a line from Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack "Tell the chef this is low-grade dog food" and "The steak still has marks where the jockey whipped it!" and lastly "I've had better food at the ballpark!" All true. The steamed Veggies and potatoes were cold and flavorless, the steak was cooked-sort of. I'm not sure if it was boiled or what but it wasn't grilled, the salad was just spring greens and Vinegrette dressing, so how can you screw that one up? Maybe next time add more than a tomato wedge? and I never received my Creme Brulee but that's ok. If it was as bad as the rest of the meal it was best I skipped it. My advice to the Canyon Club management is to close their kitchen and offer Door Dash deliver Chili burgers from Tommy's. It's fresh, hot and better quality for about $40 a meal less. As for Berlin...GREAT performance. Terri had the core of Berlin intact and it's amazing how well they have all aged physically and performance wise. They played their hits, plus newer songs like "Animal" and from their latest album "Transcendence" both great songs. Add to that their cover versions of "She sells sanctuary" and "Highway to Hell" all adds up to a great live show. I would GLADLY pay to see Berlin again but not at the Canyon Club unless they drop that horrible meal plan and just simply raise the ticket price a few dollars.

    Need more servers

by Rainee on 8/12/21The Canyon Montclair - Montclair

Everything was good except the checking in for a table. It's first come first serve on the floor seats. We thought we bought a particular seat. Also, they need more servers. Took a while to get our food and clean up as well. Otherwise, this is a great venue.

    Great- the Best Performance

by Craig J on 8/10/21The Canyon Montclair - Montclair

This was the best performance I have seen Berlin perform. They have a new drummer and they had a full band- no piped in music. Goes to show a great band can still come back great- Great Job Berlin! The Venue- it sucked. Very poor service, food arrived late. Drinks are way overpriced ($15.00 for ma can of Modelo). With a few tweeks, this place could rock and still over charge people
