About

Setting a new standard in the comedy realm, Benji Brown was a part of Martin Lawrence's 2018 LIT AF tour in major arenas around the country, and now host of Martin Lawrence's "Yall Know What It Is Tour" taking place July of 2024 and well into the Fall of 2025. If that's not enough, Benji delivered the funny on his very own "Act Crazy If You Want To" tour as a stand alone headliner in 2019. Indeed, this is no small feat as Benji becomes the ONLY Urban Comedian with the exception of Kevin Hart to have the clout and selling power to pull off a national tour of this magnitude. All this recent success has rubbed off on Benji's socials. In fact, his most recent post of his character KiKi replicating what it's like for an inner city Black girl to portray a meteorologist has garnered over 3 million views and went viral. Building up to being the next major Urban comedic household name, Benji became well known throughout the college circuit of comedy and national comedy clubs. In addition to working with an A-list of headliners including Chris Rock, Steve Harvey, Rickey Smiley, and Monique, his feature films included Benji Brown The Breakthrough directed by Melvin James which complemented his top selling comedy film In Touch With Reality. Adding to his impressive list of shows and appearances is Nick Cannon's Wild N' Out, A Miami Tail by Lions Gate, a series of Bud Light Super Bowl commercials, the Rickey Smiley TV show, Jamie Foxx's Laffapalooza, STARZ's 1st Amendment Comedy Show, BET's College Hill, and ESPN's Cold Pizza/ 360 Degrees - Game Night.

  • Disappointed

I am a HUGE fan of Benji Brown but I was highly disappointed by this show. The play had no real story line and seemed to jump around with no clarity. It started off very funny, but then it just didn't jump off after that. Benji, your stand up show is awesome! I think you should really grow that and leave the plays to someone else.

  • I was so disappointed

    by Just2bless on 9/7/11James L Knight Center - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

I was so disappointed with the show. Keke is so funny on the radio but failed to hit the funny spot during the show. The supporting actors over played the "ghetto" role. The microphones sounded horrible. Overall I did not like the show. I purchased my tickets in anticipation of laughing until I cried. The show fell short. I love Benji Brown and will continue to support him in the future. This show did not meet my expectations but Benji Brown is so talented he will shine on his next endeavor.

  • Kiki was straight

I love Benji Brown and Kiki...that show was good but some of the things became repetitive and alittle draggy. Maybe need to have more substance, with other characters having some solo and feature other topics to add diversity. In all it was a great show, very funny, and relative.

  • Worst show ever!

by Anonymous on 9/6/11James L Knight Center - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

Don't waste your money or time. This bootleg production was horrible. The show started 45 minutes late. It took forever between skits....Benji is a great stand up comedian but this show just sucked. One of those events that you make you wish you could demand your money back!!!

  • This was the worst thing I've ever seen

    by wonder4lymade on 9/6/11James L Knight Center - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

This play or whatever you want to call it was very boring. I knew I wasn't going to like it when the girls walked or should I say gyrated onto the stage 45 minutes late. As if black women weren't protrayed negatively in the media as is, this show just added salt to the wound. Black women don't behave that way. KIKI was the only person that managed to get an occassional smile out of me. The part that made me want to vomit was the King of Diamonds scene. Stripping midgits and women spreading eagle on poles was NOT my idea of celebrating my holiday weekend. Even though its inappropriate to walk out of a show early...I had to run out due to being thoroughly disgusted. This was the worst money I have ever spent!

The show was great but the sound system could have been better.

  • horrible

    by Bambi85 on 9/6/11James L Knight Center - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

This event was not well put together, it was very Ghetto, you could hear them saying dim the lights, fade to black, turn up the mic. the props were ghetto... the actors were ghetto nothing about this event was tasteful. The KOD scene made nosense. it was just a horrible experince all together I wish I could get a refund. People were getting up leaving during the show. I am hoping that this will not be put on DVD or taken on tour beacuse it was horrible, a true waste of an outfit and my time on a holiday weekend. Last if your not fimaliar with Miami, the hair stores, or clubs or hoods the jokes make no sense.
