Belleville Senators Live
The NHL's Ottawa Senators and owner Eugene Melnyk wanted to bring the team's New York-based AHL affiliate closer to the franchise in Ontario. So ahead of the 2017 AHL season, they did exactly that â and the Belleville Senators found their home.Â
"We wanted a good community...I wanted to be in Canada, that's for sure. And at the end of the day, you gotta look the mayor in the eyes and trust them," Melnyk told YourTv Belleville of the move.Â
The city of Belleville, Ontario, poured $20 million in renovations into CAA Arena (including a sleek, four-panel jumbotron with a 360-degree screen) and it has quickly become an exciting 4,400-person arena in which to view a hockey game. Now past their rookie season in Belleville, the Senators even have a number of "party boxes" for six to eight fans that can be purchased at reasonable prices.Â
While the Senators missed the playoffs in their first season in Belleville, they've been playing competitive hockey ever since, behind young wingers Jack Rodewald, Rudolfs Balcers, Adam Tambellini, and star center from the Czech Republic, Filip Chlapik. Coach Troy Mann's Belleville team has seen their share of players get called up to the NHL and former NHLers come back down to the AHL and play high-level hockey.
Belleville Senators Background
Two and a half hours away from Ottawa, the Belleville Senators are the breeding ground for future NHL players of the Ottawa Senators. The Belleville Senators began their history as the New Haven Nighthawks in 1972 before becoming the New Haven Senators in 1992, when Ottawa was given an expansion team in the NHL. They moved to Prince Edward Island in 1993, Binghamton in 2002, and have called Belleville home since 2017.
Always a fun night watching the Senators. Great support from the crowd. Well a bit too much from the opposing team đ. Love the Senators and the fans.
Was a nice arena but they should have more room in the seats
Ticket Master was easy to use to order tickets for a local AHL hockey game. Seat selection was exactly what I ordered. Very reasonable service charge for my purchase.
Great rink. Great game. Just select seat about 10th row if behind benchâs or penalty area. View blocked by glass. More enjoyable up higher.
This was a gift from my daughter and it was a great family experience. :)
Family attended a junior Sens and Marlies game and it was packed house. The seats were good (two rows off the glass) if the action was in one end of the rink but a little hard to see the other end. Would buy seats higher up next time. Would highly recommend going to an AHL game. Many of the players are up and coming players on their way to the NHL. Fast paced, action packed and hard hitting game for a fraction of the price for NHL games.
It Was Fun Watching The Belleville Senators Play With Me and My brother.
The seats where amazing the price was perfect didn't feel squished I recommend for sure
I took my boyfriend to his first ever Belleville Sens game and we both really enjoyed ourselves!!
Just an OK game but somewhat uninspired. It is early in the season and a lot of games left before the panic sets in to play for a playoff spot. There were a lot of silly plays and misplays that would be acceptable at a peewee level but not forgivable for these "pros". It can only get better.
Had a great time in Belleville for the Home opener of the Belleville Senators. Great game and win for them.
I thought that the alumni would be around the arena for people to see them but they werenât.
Definitely overpriced...maybe Canadian dollars for Canadian events?
First time in this arena in over 20 years, and amazed at the transformation it has gone through!! Our seats were amazing, the game was excellent, sound system was understandable even. I do not recall being SO cold in this or any other non-house-league level arena though. So, bring a blanket or multiple layers, especially if you are at ice level. Lack of attendance was sad to this former Bulls fan, I guess the city has still not forgiven that move !
The CAA Arena staff and the Belleville Senators organization made the evening a lot of fun. The Senators played well as did the Laval Rockets. Definitely will come again.
Good service to get my tickets for the game that was quick.
Intense game! Belleville Arena is nice. Amerks win was a bonus!
I am a leafs fan lifetime lol. Yet Belleville is now my team lol. The Belleville team had just signed a jersey for my grandson. Gotta love em. Yet Toronto is in my blood. Lol. GO BOTH TEAMS GO. Glad Belleville won sorry Marlies lost lol
I had an absolutely great time. I live in Belleville so am a loyal Belleville fan lol but I am a Toronto Leafs fan my whole life lol Was hard to choose who to yell for so I yelled for both lol Great clean hockey. Both teams were strong and fast and goalies sure got a work out. No fights which I loved and great sportsmanship. Was like watching Olympic Hockey where no one wanted to be benched for a temper tantrum lol OMG ALL I CAN SAY WAS WOW WHAT A GAME !!!!!!!!!!
Great seats, fantastic venue, free parking, and an entertaining quality game. As good as any nhl game and 30 minutes from home. Should go more often.
