This Center appears to be an excellent performing arts facility, at least from my perspective as an audience member. The music performed by The Punch Brothers and Bela Fleck's ensemble was top-notch, and the performances were energetic with Chris Thile's enjoyment of performing showing clearly. I hope to return to this venue again, and, also, see these performers in future performances.
This was an outstanding performance from each and every one of the performers!!!!! The wonderful finale with The Punch Brothers and Bela Fleck was simply incredible!!!! And of course the Tanger Center couldn’t be better!!!!!
From Bela’s set, followed by the Punch Brothers it was just a continuous stream of the most potent and captivating Americana Bluegrass that I have been witness too. People are missing out on these performers as I wish their music could reach more ears.
This performance was one of the best I have ever attended. Bela Fleck & the Punch Brothers were on their game musically while taking a moment here & there to engage with the audience. I would highly recommend attending performances given by either artist, but it is a special opportunity to hear them together.
Unbelievable display of virtuosity. University of Buffalo center for the Arts is a Very nice place to see music.
Musical talent- top notch Sound quality- excellent Entertainment value- 5 out of 5 stars Bela Fleck and his band played for 1.5 hours- incredible talent, a wide variety of songs, and so much fun. Chris Thiele and the Punch Bros came on and played for 1.5 more hours! They were incredible! And then all 11 musicians were onstage for another 30 min or more. It was a magical evening and I will remember this concert as one of my absolute favorites. Thank you to all the ultra-talented, hardworking, and amazing musicians who played… you made my year!!
The performances were outstanding! Only marred by the audience. Hundreds of people filtered in late during the first 5 numbers. Once most of the crowd got seated many were constantly getting up, milling around, talking during the performance etc. Super rude and distracting!
These are a group of real musicians and their love of music and friendship comes through in everything they do. The Punch Brothers opened for them, and when they all played together … one of the best experiences ever!
What an amazing night of incredibly talented musicians. Had never seen or heard Punch Brothers before. Blew us away. My husband was very familiar with Bela Fleck. I had never had the opportunity to see him in person. Both were fantastic. What a treat. Love the Tanger Center being so close and the opportunity to see fantastic shows and music events
I’ve seen Bela twice before. Years ago with the Flecktones, at Merlefest with Abigail, last week with The Punch Brothers. Enjoyed every performance.
Interesting to see some “new grass” openers with “The Punch Brothers” … deff a new take on an old art that deserves a listen. As for Bela, we have been chasing him for a long time and his show was well worth the wait. Amazing musicians, and just an outstanding show.
Bela is a legend and is always amazing, but the talent level when everyone was onstage together was mind bending.
Bela generously brought along the new generation of bluegrass talents and shared the stage with them in such a selfless way. We have followed Bryan Sutton, Mark Schatz and Sierra Hull for several years. The addition of Justin Moses and Michael Cleveland rounded out a totally solid evening of entertainment. While we are not fans of Chris Thile and the Punch Brothers, we did appreciate their musicianship, eapecially as they joined Bela and Company for the final set.
This wasn't just a concert, this was an experience! Bluegrass music played by exquisite musicians was twisted and turned in every way imaginable and in ways I've never heard before.
From the first note played, one could realize these musicians that were here in Greensboro were the best of best; they devoted their lives to an art form that rings with emotion and joy. They have traveled many roads to arrive at this moment in their lives and bring pure joy to those of us blessed to be alive at these times. They all stood on the shoulders that came before and with hardly a drop of ego in their presentation. God Bless The Punch Brothers, Bella Fleck, Sierra Hull, Justin Moser, Michael Cleveland, Mark Schatz, and Brian Sutton
I was blown away. These musicians are so incredibly talented, I could have listened all night.
The title says it. Incredible artists who are masters in their areas.
This was an amazing show! I’ve never seen Bela Fleck live and he doesn’t disappoint. Bela and his band along with the opening act (Punch Brothers) are some of the most talented musicians I’ve seen in a very long time!
Béla Fleck was even more amazing than I anticipated. He had several guest artists from his double album and PBS concert, My Bluegrass Heart, comprising a six-piece band. It's atypical for musicians to have the guest artists on tour stops, especially ones who perform concerts of their own. The five-piece Punch Brothers opened with a full set. They were fantastic! They joined to the other musicians for the encore, which made for an 11-piece ensemble, the biggest and best bluegrass lineup I've ever seen. Each musician who played was at the top of their game individually. Collectively, they are incomparable.
