    What a good performance!

by chasnmgm on 11/11/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta

We enjoyed this lots more than we expected. It was well worth the trip from Montgomery - besides the colorful costumes, beautiful music, delightful singing, and energetic youthful dancing, the overall show was top notch. Since I used to own a Tour Company, I've been to many such shows and this one was exceptional! We all had a good time and learned a lot about the Philippines. Maybe I need to organize a tour there? This was a treat!

    Interesting

by foxophile on 11/11/10Fox Theater - Atlanta

An interesting performance, quite different from expectations set by Chinese, Japanese and other Asian cultural performances. The highlight was the lead female singer and her playful back-and-forth "duel" with the mandolin player. Thank you for the opportunity to see this event at no cost.

    Very Entertaining!

by AtlantaBuzzQueen on 11/11/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta

I did not know what to envision from Philippine dance. This performance was entertaining and inspiring. One could imagine that in earlier times people used the simple, common items available, like bamboo sticks or benches and "made their own fun", expressing themselves artistically. Sometimes it felt like Mexican folk dance and at other times it seemed more like formal Thai dance. There were multiple cultural influences that blended to make this unique, special experience.

    Bayanihan was amazing!

by rheakten on 11/11/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta

My husband and I attended the show at the Fox on Tuesday evening, November 9, 2010. I grew up in the Philippines, but my husband has had only second-hand exposure to the culture and beauty of the country. I greatly enjoyed all of the cultural dances, music, and vignettes, and my husband was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and presentation of the company. The music and showmanship was outstanding, and made me homesick for my adopted home country. We will definitely see the show again if it returns to Atlanta.

    Nice Evening with friends

by Smilingflbob on 11/11/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta

The evening at the Fox as always was great and the performance of what I could hear was great - We were unfortunate to have seats with families of many small children around us - Most parents were good with controling their kids however the family directly in back of us had three children all under five years old or so - The noise was unbelievable especially at the Fox - I have a daughter and grandchildren who have never acted in such a matter - During the break one of the ushers asked them to please keep their children under control - As he walked away they all laughed and stated they had every right to do as they pleased!!! I think I was more shocked at the Fox allowing such young children to be at such a performance - I would bring my six year old grandson to the Fox but never my three year granddaughter - Thanks for letting me vent -

    That's It?

by nightmist on 11/11/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta

The first half of the show was entertaining. The second half seem to be a tribute to Mexico. Didn't understand that part and got bored.

Show just did not hold my interest. Dance seemed uncoordinated. Colorful costumes were intersting.

    Different Experience

by BabyGirl70 on 11/11/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta

This was my first time seeing the Philippine Dance Company performance. I compared it to the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater production. Thought it was as good as Alvin Ailey, but some of the performance were a little to long. I thought it was very colorful and animated. I also thought the dancing was not great, but very good. It was easy to see that some of the dancers were not in step with the others, but overall it was a good and solid performance. Also I took my daughter and niece and they both enjoyed the colors. I would definitely recommend this performance to my friends and family.

    Surpising find

by Skyy78 on 11/11/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - Atlanta

We received last minute tickets to this event as a gift. Not knowing what to expect we turned out dressed for the Fabulous Fox Theater in Atlanta and were not disappointed. A little culture for the kids (9 and 14), some incredible choreography and a very colorful display of creative dancing that was enjoyed by the whole family.

Very entertaining high energy dancing. My daughter and nieces really enjoyed it and managed to learn a few things along the way. I would recommend to those who enjoy dance and learning about other cultures.
