Battles On Ice Tickets

I gave this five stars because this was an awesome idea and I want it to happen again. Unfortunately, I don't think the event was planned out very well. Overall, the concept was wonderful and the environment was really buzzing however, there were a few negative aspects. One aspect was that the rink placement was a little awkward. It's possible they couldn't move the rink any closer to home plate because of the pitcher's mound but if they could have flattened that somehow that would have been beneficial as it seemed there was never going to be anyone sitting out in GA anyway. Even so, they could have put up bleachers in the outfield to get fans closer to the action. Not that this was any fault to the organizers but attendance was pretty poor too. Seeing so many empty seats was a little disappointing. I'm sure the weather had a big factor in that, especially since the UNO game had to be pushed back. Again, the weather also wasn't something the organizers could really control so I can't fault them for that but, they could have looked at scheduling the game on a day that Creighton basketball didn't play. Since the game was pushed back it looked like a lot of people were leaving early to go to the basketball game at 9 PM. As I said, there were a couple of negative aspects to the event however, the idea of having an outdoor hockey game in Omaha was unbelievable and a very surreal experience. I would absolutely love if they did this again and wouldn't hesitate to buy tickets.

UND Fighting Sioux Hockey took over this place. Outdoor game between top 3 WCHA schools. Weather delay to improve ice conditions. Rain during the 3rd period.

Such a cool experience to be a part of. Really hope they do this every year now.

We bought our tickets as soon as they were open to season ticket holders. We couldn't imagine an outside game in Feb. with Nebr. temperatures being the past year's warm weather. This idea was advertised that the games could be played in up to 60 degree weather. The weather was great. Massive tailgating. Terrible ice and delay problems. Action too far away from the crowd. No game calling. A huge and expensive disappointment. If only they had a back-up plan for the venue to be changed. But they instead had a basketball game in the regular stadium scheduled. Poor planning all around.

It didn't feel like a hockey game. Friday's game was more fun.

Was eagerly anticipating this for months and I have to say that I left unhappy. Our $70 seats ended up being too close. Seating chart made it seem like we had perfect seats, when we got to our center ice seats we couldn't see over the glass. We had to move into the upper deck just to see. I have been to TD Ameritrade many times for CWS games and I love the park but the layout for the hockey game was awful. Can't fault the venue for the sun melting the ice too much which left for poor play but I certainly thought I would get more for my money.

Great event. Fun to watch outdoor hockey once game started. Good thing ND travels well or crowd would have been sparse.

Battles on Ice was one of the best hockey experiences I've had! Being an avid hockey fan, the outdoor experience brings back memories from childhood. The atmosphere and fan support was exhilarating!

Had a great time! If this event is held at TD Ameritrade again...may want to consider moving the rink closer to home plate and shutting down the east bleachers.....for better viewing.

Overall, I really liked seeing hockey played outdoors. It was unique in Omaha. Of course you cant control the weather, and who wouold have guessed 50+ degrees was on Mother Natures agenda. Contrary to my thinking when purchasing the seats, sitting in the lower bowl was not the best place. You couldnt see any of the action, but a quick move to a higher level and MUCH better game enjoyment. Overall, do it again...it will probably be -20 degrees next year !!!

Bad: Being outnu,bered by North Dakota fans at a home game. Ticket prices too high for lower bowl. Setup - rink could have been closer to the lower bowl stands which might have helped bring more people in. Date - if this happens again, I sugges a Nov or Dec game, so weather isnt as much of a factor for the ice. Planning - dont plan this on the same weekend as an event at the CLINK. Good: Atmosphere, rival games. Met some nice people from North Dakota. Glad I got tix for the Upper Bowl, better view there.

UNO picked the right team for the Battle on Ice. UND travels very well. If they try this again tickets should be the same price no mater where you sit. Early buyers get better tickets. Knowing this I bought the General Admission. You could count the number of fans sitting in the outfield on two hands. So you could seat anywhere you wanted. When this was announce last summer, knowing Omaha fair weather hockey fans, either it was going to be too cold for fans and great for ice or too warm for ice and great for fans. The nearly 3 hour of delays put a real damper on the day. The delays put the game into the light rain that everyone was concerned about earlier in the week. Next time put the ice closer to the grandstands and the photographers on the outfield side allowing lower fans a better view. No one is sitting in the outfield. Looking forward to this event in 2-3 years

Amazing event! Nothing beats outdoor hockey. Lots of Sioux fans and the national anthem was the best I have ever seen!

The North Dakota fans were great, their team support was unbelievable, the season ticket Mav's fans were great, but the support from the rest of the Omaha and surrounding area was very lame. Only 13650 attendence in a stadium that could have held 25000, shame.

Went to both games of Battle on Ice. Pretty much a disaster from the get go! Ice was terrible for the 1st game, then 2.5 hr. delay to start 2nd game! My main concern is the the conduct of the N. Dakota fans. I've been to many different sporting events all over the country & these "fans" (I use the term loosely) were BY FAR the WORST fans I have ever seen!!! !The majority (not all) were drunk,rude,obnoxious, & confrontational the entire weekend! Most were drunk before they entered the arena on Friday night & the 2.5 hr. delay on Saturday only gave them more drinking time!!!! They were disrespectful & loud during the singing of the National Anthem. The majority of the used constant foul language including the "F" word even around children. When they were warned about this, it only seemed to inspire worse language! Great hockey team - terrible fans! I would NEVER even consider attending a game in their arena for fear of how much worse they would act there! I witnessed SEVERAL occasions of N. D. males in their 20's harassing & starting fights w/UNO fans in their 60's & even had to break one up! The conduct of these fans TOTALLY RUINED what should have been a fun weekend!!

The ice was so far away you couldnt see anything. They also spent more time fixing the ice than playing.

It was a fun event to attend. Lots of fans from North Dakota made for a good time. Besides the ice melting, it was a fun event and hope it comes around again.
