    Batsheva Dance Company

by Anonymous on 11/4/14Royce Hall - UCLA - Los Angeles

This dance company is extraordinary. If you want thoughtful, provocative choreography with stunning and beautiful dancers - who express themselves differently from any other company, then you must not miss this group next time they're in town. The pieces are made up of profoundly gorgeous movement, set to mind blowing music, performed with a sharp but playful sense of humor. Very compelling, charming, and a feast for the senses. A must see.

Batsheva Dance Company features incredible dancers and cleverly beautiful choreography. Sadeh21 made me laugh, cry, and sit mesmerized for long after the 75-minute performance.

    Deeply moving

by theatrecriticuk on 11/20/12Sadlers Wells - London

I can only assume that the negative reviews are actually political statements. Batsheva ensemble were incredible. The event was memorable and deeply moving. The expression was beautiful and the young dancers displayed professionalism and maturity and thoroughly impressed the crowd, who responded with a standing ovation.

    Not enjoyable

by SaritD on 3/20/12Auditorium Theatre - Chicago

I have seen Bat Sheva before, and I was really looking forward to see them again. This time was annoying. The movements were about the same and the music was owful. It wasn't even music. It sounded more like chew noise, all kind off different weird sounds. Some of the time it was quiet, so you could hear the audience noise. I felt so bad for dragging my husband. Since all the reviews looked great, I had to put some truth here.

    Batsheva - disappointing

by FreudIan on 3/20/12Auditorium Theatre - Chicago

We saw Hubbard street the night before we saw Batsheva. Batsheva was a big disappointment - the choreography was a bit dull and seemed almost lazy. Too much of it was not connected. Dancers were reasonably well trained, but overall, the show lacked professionalism, excitement, and complexity.

    Chicago/ Batsheva

by Skoosh on 3/20/12Auditorium Theatre - Chicago

This was the first time I attended a modern dance performance and was absolutely captivated by Batsheva! I was seated in the from row and at first thought I would be unhappy I was so close but as my neighbor pointed out, 'the dancers looked as if they are floating' because my vision was at the line of the stage floor. What beauty and grace of the bodies in front of me. I couldn't take my eyes of off Bobbi Smith or Shamel Pitts. I'd love to know the score, aside from Ravel's Bolero... Thank you so much for coming to Chicago.

    Batsheva was awesome!!!

by Tocino on 3/19/12Auditorium Theatre - Chicago

The dancers of the Batsheva Dance Co. exhibited an amazing combination of grace, strength, power, and beauty. I've never seen contemporary pieces like those performed. One thing that really struck me as awesome was how the female dancers performed with such fierce presence encased in femininity. Their male counterparts were slightly overshadowed...in a good way. I've never seen female dancers move like that before. It was beautiful. I hope they return to Chicago soon.

    Batsheva 2012!

by lmhj on 3/19/12Auditorium Theatre - Chicago

Batsheva Dance was beautiful! I highly recommend seeing this company as they are different from a lot of the dance companies in the states. Movement is lovely and unique. I wish they came to Chicago a bit more often.
