I remember Junior High School, Peter Pan, and obsidian pants

by Kip on 9/11/19City Center - New York

Lena Hall is our undoubted queen of rock Broadway and stuns with unrivaled vocalese. The nostalgic jukebox of Meatloaf operatic late 1970s rebellion metal seems almost quaint by modern coarse standards but delights with rich arrangements, frenetic dance breaks, and soaring vocals. A convoluted plot weaves post-apocalyptic Lost Boys anachronisms with teenage angst and rebellion, perhaps overwrought and familiar. Applying the interpretative theory of the Smiths, if literal then it’s trite pablum but if ironic then it’s unmitigated genius. For the mostly middle aged audience, the most poignant lyrics were clearly “it’s all coming back to me now” and “objects in the rear view mirror may be closer than they appear!”

    Great show

by R. on 9/6/19City Center - New York

The venue was very comfortable. All Meatloafs songs were done and the actors made the songs there own. The story was very good. The music was a little to loud but we loved the show

    Classic Meatloaf

Nice story-line of sexual awareness with the classic Meatloaf songs including all the big hits.

Bat Out of Hell feels like a rock concert!

by Cherrie on 9/2/19City Center - New York

The book of Bat Out of Hell is a bit strange but it has moments of heart and humor. The voices of the cast are incredible. The mic volume during each Meatloaf song is loud enough that audience members can sing along without interrupting the amazing voices of the actors. Great cast! Especially loved the acting, energy and voice of Tyrick Wiltez Jones who plays the character, Jag.

    A blast from the past

by Pam on 8/23/19City Center - New York

I got these tickets for my boyfriend as he was always a big meatloaf fan. I really didn’t know what to expect because it was off Broadway. I was pleasantly surprised to see this show had all the bells and whistle‘s of Broadway. The whole cast was extremely talented, the story was a story of trying to hold onto your youth, The generation gap, acceptance and growing as an individual. It had an edgy dark undertone which was perfectly aligned to all of the music. What a treat to see Meatloaf come on stage for a surprise song!!!!! A good time was had by all!!
