BANKS IN CONCERT:

R&B newcomer Banks is generating major buzz in 2014, turning heads with her dark beats and synth-heavy music. Drawing influence from artists like Fiona Apple and Lauryn Hill, Banks’ songs possess a mysterious beauty, and when paired with her frail, sultry vocals, the result is stunning. During her live shows, she mesmerizes with hits like "Waiting Game" and "This Is What It Feels Like," seducing fans with her commanding stage presence and alluring voice. Banks will grace the stage once again on an upcoming world tour, delighting fans with her critically acclaimed tracks.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Los Angeles-based Jillian Banks began writing music at the age of 15, teaching herself piano to better cope with her parents' divorce. The sexy songstress released her first EP London in 2013 — a breakout year for the newcomer — landing an opening spot on tour with The Weeknd. Billboard Magazine named Banks a "magnetic writer with songs to obsess over," and she's attracted attention from some of pop's biggest stars, including Ellie Goulding. Hot on the heels of her 2014 Coachella appearance, Banks returns to the stage to share material from her debut Goddess on a string of highly anticipated worldwide tour dates.

    BEST BANKS CONCERT EVER

by Kalentinee on 4/16/17Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

It was honestly the best banks performance ever. We were pretty close once it began and we started out somewhere towards the middle. Her performance was SO great and the staff was so helpful and nice! The place where the concert was held was also so pretty and amazing. It was an open space so it was all pit. You can sit on the sides but I don't know how the view is, but overall I would recommend getting there an hour or two before to get to the front. Although the concert was supposed to start at 7:30 but she didn't perform until 9, but it lasted a good hour and a half. But overall, GREAT concert and I would recommend anyone to go if they have a chance. Pros: Great performance Great location Helpful Staff Good food and price Cons: Took a while to begin Her opening act wasn't that great, he didn't really hype the crowd much and was quite boring

    Banks is flawless

by hauntedvibes on 4/16/17Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

Im convinced she is not a real person. She hit every note perfectly. The crowd was just small enough to where you felt really connected with her. She knows how to work a distortion mic abd use the normal mic too. Best $40 ive ever spent. I really want her to come back. Also I only waited 1 hour before the gates opened and got first row.

    She stole my heart!!

by Tinaroo on 4/16/17Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

I have never seen Banks live before. I thought she would be good, but damn she was AMAZING!!!. Vocals, choreography, musicality..everything just came to together perfectly. Better than I expected. Her dancers were entertaining as well. The only dull moment was her opener, he wasn't into his own music, not sure who he was. The venue was cool it was by the marina. It does get a little chilly as the night goes on, but by the time the act goes on you forget about it probably cos of the body heat of everyone standing together. Overall loved the outside vibe.

    Banks was regrettable

by Anonymous on 11/13/15Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

My girlfriend introduced me to Banks' music months ago. Upon hearing about her solo concert in the area, I thought would get tickets as a nice surprise. After driving through 2 hours of stop and go traffic, struggling to find parking, and hurriedly chowing down on disappointing cheesesteaks, we were ready for Banks to brighten up our evening. Imagine our shock as her set started and we noticed that Banks, the reason we endured the ride to Philly, was lip synching. Lip synching! The man in cutoff jean shorts and boots grinding on unsuspecting was bad enough. But to witness an artist, whose music we enjoy, playing out a farce on stage was the last straw.

    Amazing voice!!

by anggabmer on 9/10/15Saint Andrew's Hall - Detroit

One of the best concerts I have ever been to! If you like her music, you should see her live. She appreciates her fans so much and even touched my hand. I will always buy a ticket to her concert if she comes to my city.

    Incredible voice, but kinda awkward.

by Condoggy on 12/23/14The Rave - Milwaukee

So I went to the Big Snow Show 9 to see Fall Out Boy and with the ticket you could go to the Banks concert 2 days later. So it was free and I was excited because Banks album Goddess is one of my favorites of the year. I wouldn't have bought a ticket but i'm glade I got to go. She sounded amazing and looked stunning, and yes the music is the most important part of the show and it was spot on, but she did not have the best stage presence and was a little awkward. If you love the songs I recommend going and if you don't care that not much is going on on the stage. Her set-list was great and when she went on the piano it was beautiful. She sang most of her good songs and played for an hour, but I was a little bummed that she didn't sing Someone New and You Should Know Where I'm Coming From. Her voice shinned through and that is what really matters.

    Banks

by dlynnb on 12/6/14The National - Richmond

Love Banks…..my only problem was the sound system….it sounded so distorted and I felt bad for her because I know that she sounds so much better than that. I can't wait to see her again…Loved every song of hers!!!

BANKS was on fire and the crowd was totally into it.. It was if every super fan of BANKS was there at St. Andrews.During one of BANKS slower songs she was getting visibly emotional because of the intense positive vibes that were sent her way. Met her afterward, very sweet and nice.

    Banks and Movement

    by Image215 on 10/6/14Terminal 5 - New York

Movement was awesome great voice nice music i really enjoyed that. Banks took way to long to come out the place was small and no seats once you get out of your spot there is no way of getting back. The performance was cool i enjoyed it but she left so fast I'd go again but not to terminal 5

I'd been looking forward to this show since I bought the tickets back in June, and Jillian Banks didn't disappoint in the least bit. The levels for her backing band could've been turned down, but otherwise she sounded great and her dancing was fun to watch.

    Banks is a studio artist!

by JamLove on 10/3/14Terminal 5 - New York

Love her music and she looked amazing but sadly her voice did not live up to her music that introduced me to her.

by Nalita on 10/3/14Terminal 5 - New York

She put on an amazing performance and sang a lot of the songs that were on her album. The band that opened for her the MOVEMENT was great as well and even made me a fan.

    A Goddess

by Anonymous on 9/23/14Grand Central - Miami

I have never written a review for anything, but I loved it so much that I had to share my happiness. The opening act was a band called the movement from Australia, I personally thought they were really good, they set the right tone and fit in with Banks's style of music. As for Banks, she was amazing, her sultry voice and sound pulls you in and mesmerizes you. I did not want the concert to end, she did a perfect combination of singing her most popular songs and the new stuff, she even threw in a cover of a hip-hop song. Also, a well balanced performer, very energize, she sang a good amount of songs, while involving and speaking to the crowd, making you feel like and see how down to earth she is. If you are into a dusky and sultry voice within R&B like beats, go to her concert you will not regret it.
