All the featured films were so, so good - just wish the event staff had provided more detail around event logistics in the description. I showed up at the time the ticket said, but turns out I had a full hour of waiting until the festival actually started! (Could just be me, but I swear I looked for a more detailed schedule, and didn't find anything.)
I was on a business trip from Germany in Boston and got the recommendation to attend this festival. It was totally worth it. I would like to see this festival also in Germany!
First I wanna say that the seats at Somerville Theatre need a SERIOUS upgrade! The seats are hard and packed in like sardines. So uncomfortable!!! I thought some of the films this year were good but many should never have made the cut. Hope next year is better and they pick a more comfortable venue or rehab those seats at Somerville theatre!! Seriously, it’s 2020 not 1920. You can keep the charm but make seats for real humans with comfort.
The films were great but it was more commercial than I remember. Lots of ads and sponsors and talking that I could have done without that really detracted from the experience.
Banff film fest is always a fabulous collection of short and medium length adventure films. This year did not disappoint. Fun and engaging evening.
