    Amazing venue!

by Mike on 3/2/20Hershey Theatre - Hershey

First time at this thetare and this venue is simply awesome! Hershey Theatre is one of the nicest theatres on the Broadway tour circuit in this area. Its architecture is gorgeous. Was so nice to have free parking available directly accross from the theatre. Very knowledagle and friendly Frobt of House staff and tons of nice places to eat within walking distance of the venue. The performance was first rate as well. Amazing choreography! The sound was also some of the best I have heard from a touring company. 100% would recommend both Bandstand as a show and Hershey Theatre as a venue!

Post War struggle to make good

by Dude46 on 2/23/20Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts - Moran Theater - Jacksonville

Great story line. The singer/actors really protrayed life of returning servicemen and their struggle with flash backs and finding peace and mind in a world that uses them. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the vocals were too loud and hard to understand in the back seats.

    Big Disappointment

by R. F. on 1/8/20Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

We left at intermission. It was the worst WWII era music I've ever heard and the storyline wasn't interesting.

    Not what I was expecting.

by Advocate on 1/8/20Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

I was thinking a American Bandstand type experience. This took too long to develop the plot. I actually went to sleep several times during the first 45 minutes.

    Whatever happened to big finales?

by M. C. on 1/7/20Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

I'm not sure I've ever seen a musical so decidedly end with a whimper instead of a bang. When I saw the touring show in Huntsville, AL, and the performers started coming out on stage to take a bow, I think others in the audience, like me, thought we were still watching the show-within-a-show. The band at the center of the story has blitzed to success, although they tell us this, they don't show us. And, since when don't musicals have big musical finales? The audience sort of wonders/wanders out, looking for the bathroom (of course), talking about the touring season's promising next show ("Waitress") and complaining that the show talks about "The Great American Songbook" that came out of WWII, but doesn't offer us a single classic number. There was definite disappointment, including from some veterans I eeavesdropped on.. Or maybe I was expecting too much?

    Disappointing

by L. on 1/7/20Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

Such a cute plot and storyline, excellent performers, but the language was atrocious. I would’ve never gone had I known there would be so many times of taking the Lords name in vain. So very unnecessary and did not add to the plot at all.

    Awesome show!

by jtm910 on 1/7/20Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

Great show at a good venue. Biggest issue is parking due to all the construction, but this should only be temporary.

    Average Story Great Dancing

by JNITS on 12/20/19Adler Theatre - Davenport

The sound was an issue in the balcony and the production was missing a song you would sign on the way home but he dancing and choreography was fantastic! Patriotism was true blue but the falling in love seemed to downplay the real tragedy of the message that music can transcend bad experience to great memories.

    Bandstand

by JudyL on 12/19/19Adler Theatre - Davenport

Don't go to this play thinking you will hear songs you recognize. Myself and my three friends were expecting a totally different experience. The female lead had a great voice and the dancers were good but we all had trouble staying awake with the story line and so left at intermission. Needless to say we were really disappointed.

    Disappointed

    by L. R. on 11/27/19Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

I thought the performers were wonderful, but I was disappointed in the music. Since it took place after WWII, I mistakenly thought the music would be the music from that era.

    MEH, Nothing Special

    by C. H. on 11/27/19Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

Songs were ok, story drawn out. Not enough going on to make it 2 1/2 hour production. difficult to understand lyrics at times.

    The Bandstand

by m. on 11/26/19Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

The headphones did not work, and I was sitting in the mezzanine, so I missed most of the dialogue. I complained during intermission, but they said it wasn't the headphones it was the sound system. As far as the singing and dancing it was okay. Wouldn't recommend it.
