Banda el Recodo -- the group's full name is Banda Sinaloense el Recodo de Don Cruz Lizarraga -- celebrated their 75th anniversary in 2013, and the Mexican Banda group hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. During the landmark year, the ever-evolving band -- believed to be the first Banda act to release a commercial recording -- was awarded with the Musical Legacy Award at the Billboard Mexican Music Awards.
Banda el Recodo was founded by clarinetist Cruz Lizarraga in 1938, and he remained the bandleader until he died of cancer in 1995. The group is still in the Lizarraga family, however, and counts four of his sons among its members. Banda el Recodo still tours regularly -- often playing in the United States -- with a huge lineup of musicians playing clarinets, trombones, trumpets, tuba, and various percussion instruments, along with vocalists. Fans who buy tickets to a Banda el Recodo concert can expect a wide range of styles representing the massive swaths of musical ground -- including Latin, big band, jazz and classical -- they've covered over their hundreds of recordings.
I was not satisfied. The best band was the very first one that played. The singers were overly arrogant and I was not impressed by their constant abhorrent sexual gestures.
We had a great night dancing with some of the greatest Bandas. I don't think that Banda Recoditos should have opened. Banda Voz de Mando was great and so was the Greatest "Banda El Recodo' Gerardo Ortiz had great lights, but the sound system did not do him any justice. This was a great show, too bad the venue did not plan accordantly. This was a SOLD OUT concert (about 1,000 pp) with only about 12 bartenders. The lines were about an hour long-literally out the door (including the VIP area) It's sucked that many people had to spend half of their time on line, instead of dancing.
the show was amazing,all these great artist in one stage. the night was unforgettable. would gladly pay the $70 dollars again. good price for the artist that preformed that night
Banda el Recodo was absolutely amazing! They played two full hours and they never lost energy. I was dancing and singing along the whole time. They love their fans so much they invite some of them on stage and I was so jealous I was not one of them but I still had a wonderful time just listening and seeing them live. I also liked that the wait in between acts was about fifteen minutes. My only complaints would be of the venue. It looked like a garage and the whole front and about 50 (or maybe more) rows back were VIP. In my opinion that was not fair being that the whole venue was standing and if I recall correctly they did not show this in the map. I would recommend anyone to go see Banda El Recodo it is an amazing experience and they are wonderful live.
Overall the concert was good. Gerardo Ortiz was a bit of a disappointment because he sang new songs that the crowd did not know yet. Banda El Rocodo had everyone dancing and singing which was worth the money. The line for drinks was horrible, over an hour just to get drinks, the promoters should arrange that better next time

Overall, the concert was great. When I purchased the tickets, it looked a great deal on seats. But is was wrong. The seats were for vips only and the seating map for the event was incorrect and for the wrong venue. I did't find that out until I called the convention center office. However, there were plenty of room for dancing. In addition, the stage could have be higher for the people in the back. I felt bad for the shorter then me. And the sound for banda el recodo wasn't as good as it was for Los recoditos and voz de mando. Finally, It was great dancing to mis bandas favoritos en viiiivooooo!!!!! I can't wait for the next banda concert. But I will have to save up for it again. Gas is HIGH!!!!! ;{ viva los vaqueros
This show was unforgettable!! I had a blast I loved the concert. Los Recoditos were so good! Gerardo Ortiz was alright he need to improve in his performance but he did good. Voz De Mando was AWESOME loved there performance!! What can I say about Banda El Recodo it was AMAZING loved the performance and they should have ended the concert.
Wow so far this concert has been the best I've ever been to. I was in the very front row I will never forget this one!

Concert was amazing, will decently go again. Only thing, we were supposed to have assigned seats and they were already taken... No order to get them back by staff. Really dissatisfied in price paid for!
The show itself was awesome. I love all three bands that were there. The location is huge so there is plenty of room to dance. However, I payed for VIP and it was very disappointing. The section was small. There were no assigned seats so people were taking up chairs with their belongings saying they were taken when in reality they were not. The bar in the VIP did not give VIP service. The lines for a drink were so long and it took us 45 minutes to get one drink. If I would have known I would have just paid regular admission. For $100 more that I had to pay for VIP I really expected more.
The sitting arrangements sucked. It would work out better if there was more tables nd chairs for d people dat did not want to dance. It was hard to dance due to people standing around.
Awesome... had lots of fun. Would have been nice to know that they werent gonna be on stage until 10pm at night. That way I wouldnt have gotten there at 1pm and waited all day.
Had an amazing fun time. I can't wait for next year this was the 3rd year in a row that my husband and I attend this event!!
The baile was great! Apart from waiting 4 hours for them to come out, it was totally worth it. I hope they come again!!!
I had so much fun at this event. I got to see Los Rieleros Del Norte up close. I would recommend that there be two stages so that when one group is playing, the other is setting up on the other side.
Awesome from start to end. Lots of energy from the entertainers. We will definitely go again! Thanks to all the bands for the best concert ever!

Overall was a great concert, had fun seeing banda el recodo and banda los recoditos. Unforgettable night, enjoyed everything about it and everything was well organized.
