The dancing was superb with gorgeous costumes to accentuate the beauty of the event. Missed having live music but a high quality sound system kept the disappointment to a minimum. Seats could not have been better!
I had never seen Don Q before, and it was a delightful program! There was a lot of fantastic dancing, plenty of laughs, and the story line was well put together. It is definitely a romantic comedy of many levels. Well done Ballet Met!
I took my son to the ballet for his Spanish class. I'm not too familiar with the story, but the skill and athleticism of the dancers was amazing.
Absolutely wonderful and enchanting! Stunning dancers!
An incredible performance! The skill of the dancers is jaw dropping! The lighthearted story was nothing like I expected from Don Quioxte (in fact it's not even really about him) but it was beatifully done and fun, with amazing sets and costumes and, of course, absolutely wonderful dance!
Wonderful dancing, from beginning to end. Costumes, staging, music we’re all one could wish. Such a delight.
BalletMet dancers danced their hearts out for this final performance of Don Quixote. Phenomenal show.
It was visually beautiful! The costumes were amazing and the dancers were great story tellers! I’m so glad I went. I love having a matinee performance to attend. They should provide that fir every performance. Good job Ballet Met!
Loved BalletMet's "Don Quixote," which we saw Friday evening. The ballet version focuses on the romantic complications for a handsome young peasant and the village innkeeper's daughter, whose father has promised her to a fop-ish wealthy nobleman. Don Q and his valet Sancho Panza's comic presence established context, with the windmill-tilting episode representing the comprehensive body of their mis-adventures. The solo and pairs dancing was superb, across the board. The ensemble dancing was also beautiful. Choreography by the legendary Petipa is always faultless. Costumes were colorful, contrasting, and unmistakably Spanish. Sets were evocative and framed the action perfectly. This ballet is a wonderful contrast to the others in this season!
