I loved the performance to the point where I was a bit emotional. If you watch the performance keep in mind it will take you on a journey for Mexican dance from Aztec times to present times. A must see. We were blessed in this town to see be the launch of their 2 year tour.
The dancing was amazing. Presenting the best of Mexican folklorico with a large ensemble, it was beautifully performed. I loved that a whole range of body types are in the ensemble as well, and all of them are amazing dancers.
Last time we saw Ballet Folklorico De Mexico De Amalia Hernandez was 30 years ago in Guadalajara, Mexico and it was nice to renew old friendships. The dancers' exuberance was evident throughout the program and the audience responded in kind. The program moved at a brisk pace. Wonderful performance!
The Ballet Folklorico de Amalia Hernandez was a great experience. I am glad to have attended and see it finally in person. Being a dancer for more than twelve years really gives you another perspective and makes me appreciate the culture more than ever. The importance of the different traditions allows you to expand and view how it has trespassed generations throughout the years an the value it can portrayed
What a beautiful show! The whole family was riveted by the music, costumes and dancing.
It was an interesting show, but I think it's oriented more for people who was born & raised in South America & therefore greatly appreciates the culture. You see, I wouldn't call it a ''ballet'', but rather ''show'' or ''dances''. If I was to rate it as a ''show'' - I would give it 4 or 5 stars. They have fantastic live music through all the performance, they dance great, they full of energy... but for me a ballet is something different. Something more exalted, and less vulgar.
I was thrilled to see the dances from my country performed in such a professional, artistic and impecable way. I enjoyed every dance and every rhythm, but I missed el Bambuco very much.
This was a very entertaining show, we enjoyed it very much. Super talented group.
Wanted to surprise my wife with tickets to this performance since she is Colombian and thought would be nice, but it was beyond a nice performance, the choreography, music, custom design , everything was excellent and she was delighted. I would recommend it to anyone!
This show has to be one of the best shows I have attended in a long time. It is hard to point out what was the best part of the show since they kept raising the bar with each performance.The group Tierradentro was excellent specially Cristina that kept the audience involved. There is no word to discribe the hi quality and high energy of the dancers...Simply you just have to say WAO!!!! They were exellent in the choreographies,profesional dancers. One word describe this show....GREAT!!!!! Hope to see it again and again.
Its regrettable that the Ballet Folklorico's presentation was borderline "cheesy" with skimpy costumes and dancing that resembled whirling Latin dervishes; a giant departure from the traditional. Even when the audience was asked to stand up and participate in the dancing, the music was borderline hip hop and one was left thinking "how do I dance to this?" Many in the United States will not gain a real appreciation of typical Colombian music and dance after seeing this presentation. I do acknowledge the technical proficiency of the dancers but the interpretation in both music and dance, was a huge letdown. Looking around the audience I could sense their bewilderment and disappointment at not hearing the true traditional music and viewing our historic dances. Shame on you for catering to Los Vegas glitz and not giving us what we came to see and hear.
One of the best folkloric groups I have seen. The coreography was excellent and the harmonic and coordinated movements were impressive. The customes were beautiful!
Excellent! I hope they come back soon as I would definitely like to go back and see them! My family loved it and some friends wished they would have made it! It was great to see part of the beauty of Colombia!
Having my 7yr old see and feel the rhythm of her father's heritage was amazing. Their movements, enthusiasm and performance was excellent. Wish we can see it again in the state of NJ.

the costumes they wear are just so colorful that they can light up your day. i really what these people do for a living. i am so going to be there :D
