Bad Veins: round 3
by NeddyWestside on 4/20/14Masquerade - AtlantaThis was my third time seeing Bad Veins purely because these guys are incredibly talented. Performing wise they have never disappointed as the stage presence by Jake Bonta (drummer) and the level of crowd-intamacy presented Benjamin Davis (frontman) is extremely consistent. Displaying troubadour-like lyricism and indie pop instrumental work in songs like "Don't Run" and "Child" bring out a reminiscence of 80s post-punk and all the best attributes of the upbeat precursors to early indie rock. With a mason jar light fixture/rose garden clad setup among the modest drum kit and vintage reel-to-reel playback recorder, Bad Veins incorporates an unreal experience for those in attendance of their shows. From headphones to the stage, this band will not disappoint!
