Canadian singer Avril Lavigne has a gift for zippy pop-rock and teen-punk anthems, one she bestowed on grateful fans again with her fifth consecutive top 10 album released in November 2013. The self-titled album debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and had some critics calling it her best work in years. It's a nostalgic endeavor that weaves the familiar, flamboyant sound from the artist's brat-rock roots with catchy brand-new hooks. The lead single "Here's to Never Growing Up" is the kind of assertive and infectious pop track she's famous for, while the album's ballads include the more mature single "Let Me Go" co-written with husband and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger. Lavigne first shot up the charts in 2002 with the hit "Complicated" from her debut album Let Go when she was still a teenager. In the decade since she's sold 30 million albums and hundreds of thousands of concert tickets on high-energy international tours. Late 2013 saw Lavigne playing several US concert dates with plans to take her tour to Asia the following year.

However, the show did not start until 730p, there were 5 acts crammed into the schedule, and the show wrapped up by 950p. It seemed like a concert on steroids... The mixture of acts was a bit too extreme. I really went to see Avril Lavigne. However, her voice seemed to get lost behind the backup vocalists and other instruments. I was really disappointed that neither Jason Derulo or Avril Lavigne bothered to play an encore...

They should have not put on so many bands 5 bands 1 night none of which played long enough. Overall I would have rather seen the headline act for the traditional hour and thirty five minutes and not see the up comers.

I didn't tell her what we were doing till we entered the parking lot. This was her first concert, and at the age of 7 it will be a night she will never forget.

I liked Evan Taubenfeld (the opening act) so much I bought his CD on iTunes on the way home. The other two bands were alright (the Cab was pretty good, but I was not too pleased with the New Cities). Avril lavigne blew me away...she has an outstanding voice and great energy; but she is also amazing put slowing the pace down ad keeping it real. She did so many things to connect with the audience and leave s wanting more when it was finally Time to call it a night.
