About

Avenged Sevenfold is a heavy metal quintet from Huntington Beach, California that has spent over two decades as one of the genre’s biggest mainstream crossover acts. They’ve earned six certified platinum albums, four Billboard Hot 100-charting singles and nearly three billion YouTube streams. Formed in 1999, the band adopted their stage names M. Shadows, Zacky Vengeance, The Rev and Synyster Gates ahead of their 2001 debut album, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. It wasn’t until the band added bassist Johnny Christ and transitioned to a more progressive metal sound for their 2003 follow-up Waking the Fallen that they began to resemble the uninhibited, creative force that fans recognize today. A7X’s 2005 major label debut City of Evil propelled the band to a wider audience behind the breakout single “Bat Country,” and their 2007 self-titled album built on those gains with a No. 4 debut on the Billboard 200. Following the death of drummer The Rev in 2009, Avenged Sevenfold regrouped for 2010’s Nightmare, which topped the Billboard 200 and hosted their highest Hot 100 hit “Nightmare” as well as the touching tribute “So Far Away,” which became their first No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. 2013’s Hail to the King also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and was followed by 2016’s The Stage, which garnered the band’s first Grammy nomination in the Best Rock Song category for its title track. In 2023, Avenged Sevenfold came roaring back after five years off the road with Life Is but a Dream…

Black Pacific was pretty good. Big D sounded nice, however, I believe their type of music ( rock/rap) didn't fit the musical style of the overall event. AX7 sounded great and put on a great show. When the band has fun, it makes their performance more lively.

Favorite Band + First concert= AMAZING

by Lobita on 11/30/10PNC Bank Arts Center - North Jersey

I was lucky enough to have my first concert be my favoite band. I went to Uproar in NJ, but the only ones I were able to see were A7X. (Not complaining!) I missed Halestorm and Stone Sour because I was waiting in line to get stuff signed by HellYeah for my boyfriend. When I finally got to my seat at the main stage, Stone sour was just ending, and the Wait for A7X was driving me crazy. finally they came on, Opening with Nightmare. They lowered a guy on a noose from the ceiling, who twitched throughout the song and was later lowered onto a gurney and rolled away. The entire show was amazing. They had so much passion, because you could tell they were doing for the Rev. So Far Away was dedicated to him, and they had his picture projected behind them.

A7X Rocked the Uproar in Madison

    by rockrulz08 on 10/5/10Alliant Energy Center\ - Madison

The show was great from the beginning to the end, and I lost my voice in the 2nd song, the pyro was great, and the tribute to the Rev was unforgettable, he will be missed. The show started with a bang when some guy hung himself in the rafters. But the show just got better and harder as it went on. I will see these guys again, Madison is the best place for live concerts, we have the craziest fans in the state. I'm one of em.

A7X put on an all time fave performance for me. I lost my voice by the 5th song and kept on yellin'!!! I'd say God Hates Us, Nightmare and So Far Away (Love you Jimmy Rev...:'( were show favorites!!! I'd see them again if they come in a 500 mile radius and I'd quit my day job to do so!!!

    Avenged Sevenfold Blew it away!

by MWfoREVer on 8/24/10Prairie Capital Convention Center - Springfield

Even with a huge loss of a friend and band mate they out did themselves. Mike did an amazing job helping them out with Jimmy's part. And it was a heartfelt moment when they put on the recordings for The Revs parts in the songs.

    Long Day but worth it

by Toddgy on 8/19/10Prairie Capital Convention Center - Springfield

Avenged 7 Fold was great, but didn't go on til 11. After 7 hours of the other 8 bands I found myself itching for StoneSour to finish so I could finally see the band I came for. All the bands were good, it was just a really long day and a lot of my energy was sapped by the time A7X took the stage. Their set was awesome, nightmare was the perfect way to start the show, and I don't want to be a spoiler so I'll just say the start of the show about snapped my neck !! Venue was great... sound was great.... Will look to see them again at a smaller show... maybe 3 or 4 bands tops.

    Good Show, Bad Crowd

by MFWM on 8/18/10Prairie Capital Convention Center - Springfield

Loved the music. I wish Halestorm could have played longer. I am not a fan of Hell Yeah, but they sounded great. I don't like their lead singer. I am not a mosher so I would not like to be told that is where I should be. Loved the Avenged set. Pleasantly surprised with Sick Puppies. All around, I would go to it again!

A7X was outstanding Halestorm Blew me away.

by swacker on 8/17/10Prairie Capital Convention Center - Springfield

Concert was completely amazing. Halestorm came out after the show to sign autographs and take pictures and then stood next to the gate the entire show. Avenged put on one hell of a concert, which was really nice because when I saw them back in 2008 I was really disappointed. This time 10 times better.

    Avenged Sevenfold was AMAZING!

by zackygirlcc on 8/16/10Prairie Capital Convention Center - Springfield

The concert was a little too long because there was 9 bands. And the fact we didnt know there was that many bands until we were in line for hours. Halestorm was great, loved them. But Avenged Sevenfold was unforgetable! It was the first time seeing them live and it was all worth it. The crowd was crazy, and everyone in there was just pumped! Their new production was awesome with the pyro! LOVE the PYRO! The stage setup was a perfect fit! I think the surprise at the beginning was a perfect fit for the new album! I would go see them over and over again! Just wish there wasnt so many bands and they would have played longer than an hour.

    Avenged Sevenfold rocks!!!

by love12stones on 8/15/10Prairie Capital Convention Center - Springfield

My Darkest Days, Janus, New Medicine, Hail the Villian, Sick Puppies, Halestorm, HellYeah, Stone Sour, and Avenged Sevenfold played in Springfield IL. The ENTIRE show was awesome!!! Got to jam out to old favorites and discover new ones. Every band played their hearts out. One of the best shows I have been to. A7X had a great stage (altough the hour it took them to set up was a bit much, crowd started getting impatient) and are into the theatrics of a show. I would deffiently suggest every one of these bands to anyone who has yet to see them, and those who already have.

    Capital City Rockfest

by festus88 on 8/15/10Prairie Capital Convention Center - Springfield

I thought the bands up and down the list were excellent. Some of the early on bands are not exactly my type of music, but they performed well and sounded great. My only disappointment of the night was the crowd. Not only was it really small for a national tourning show, but was also really flat most of the night. Everyone complains we dont get great concerts but no one supports the shows.

A7X was AMAZING. The sound/stage set up was great. Avenged knows how to put on a show! I would give it 4.5 stars because Sick Puppies got cut short. They rocked hard, and I was really pumped to see them, but that happens i guess. Other than that, the show was awesome. Hopefully this venue hosts more rock shows.

Great concert at a great place.

by knewblewkorvette on 8/14/10Prairie Capital Convention Center - Springfield

My daughter and I traveled from Dubuque IA to Springfield ILL to see this concert. When we got there at 4:15 the concert was already rocking, weird since the tickets said 5:00 on them. Anyhow, we went straight to the stage and snuck up to about the 9th row. We never shoved one bit or cut anyone off but we ended up in the 2nd row front and center within a couple of bands. This is good since my daughter is only 5' while I don't care since I'm 6'4" and can see good at any row. I just wanted to give a little background on the veiw and sound from where we were. The bands...all were great; even all the opening bands. We had seen allot of the bands before like at Lazerfest but it was our first time seeing A7X. It took them forever to set-up the stage for them but the show they gave made up for it. They had lots of fire and fireworks which perfect for the show they put on. The sound was great too. I highly recomend this show.

    Awesome show...

by Maggot415 on 8/14/10Prairie Capital Convention Center - Springfield

Awesome show... Went to see Stone Sour but also saw 3 other bands [Halestorm, Sick Puppies and Hell Yeah]. Halestorm definitely stood out and everyone else preformed well. On a very notable side note.. Vinnie Paul drummed for Hell Yeah. That was awesome. The show.. Hands down.. Belonged to Stone Sour... But Halestorm for sure stood out to me a lot. Great band and I will look forward to buying their self-titled debut album and of course.. Stone Sour's new album.. "Audio Secrecy.." which comes out September 7th!!! In Secrecy we trust... Much love, Greg <3

Lotta of music for a little money

by musicfan on 8/14/10Prairie Capital Convention Center - Springfield

Hellyeah,StoneSour,andAV7.were worth the money by themselves. The opening acts were just real good filler .People in Springfield are either butt naked broke or just terrible rockers! That show should've sold out the Convention center, but there were maybe 4k.people there at most.Sad! Bloomington or Peoria would bring way more fans out.
