I thought the show was amazing I have been listening to avatar for quite a while now and didn't think I'd ever get to see them because they're from overseas I'm glad I finally got to catch them and it was even better being at Pierre's that was the first show I've been to at Pierre's where you could get right up to the stage there was no guardrail or security guards you could get right up to the stage and get so close.
It's been a year since I was introduced to Avatar as they opened up for Sevendust on their 2013 tour. I am an avid concert goer, and the majority of the shows I frequent fall within the hard rock/heavy metal genre. This, however, is the first review of a show I have ever written since starting my concert adventures over a decade ago. Why review now, you ask? Well, frankly, AVATAR impressed me SO MUCH as an emerging band, that I felt a duty to spread the word of their awesomeness. After purchasing their newest album, "Hail The Apocalypse!" I was reminded of how talented they truly are and hope their music catches on like wildfire. In reference to their live show, I saw them on Valentine's Day with my husband, who in fact HATES metal with a passion, but accompanied me as a gesture of love and kindness on the holiday. By the end of the show, he was cheering for them just as loudly as I was! I wasn't sure what to expect once they took the stage. Johannes (vocalist) came out with clown make-up and a gas can, and I remember thinking, "oh, here's just another band trying up keep up with the popularity of shocking their audience." But i immediately recognized I had absolutely misjudged. Their carnival-like image captures the real essence of the music. Their image combined with lyrical content and presentation is a true piece of art. From their circular headbanging to the costumes and make-up, Avatar delivers an entertaining performance. My favorite song they played live was "Let It Burn." This band is off to do great things. And if you have the chance to see them, take full advantage of this mind-blowing experience called AVATAR.
I absolutely love this band, I studied up on them before they came to town, but was absolutely blown away when they performed. They brought incredible energy and got everyone moving. Their songs are perfect for moshing/headbanging and this band just does not disappoint! GO SEE THEM IN CONCERT!
