Decent, not amazing, but the kids liked it

by MissCB25 on 1/16/11Cedar Park Center - Cedar Park

This was a smaller circus with some talented performer and great animals. My boys (ages 2 and 3) really enjoyed some parts however they were bored during transition periods and the quieter acts. The one thing that absolutely made me give this 3 stars instead of 4 was the amount of overpriced merchandise pushing that went on at this event. Now, of course I expected that we'd buy some cheap plastic toys and glow sticks, maybe some popcorn and cotton candy- but the vendors were LITERALLY handing toys to my kids then demanding money from me! I was left to either let my kids start screaming and make a scene when we were sitting front row and center or pay $15 per plastic toy that broke halfway home. Now keep in mind we paid a little over $100 for front row floor seats for this event for 4 people (myself, my husband, and our 2 kids)- and spent WELL over $100 once we got inside. Everything cost extra so don't let the cheap tickets fool you. Bottom line, it was a fun event for the kids and I know the proceeds go to a good cause, I was prepared to spend some money but next time I'll be prepared to either spend more or not go!

    Good old fashioned circus

Loved it. Took my 6yo. We had great seats. The show was awesome. Even the clowns were great and I've never been a fan of clowns.

    Austin Shrine Circus

by momofgirltwins on 1/16/11Cedar Park Center - Cedar Park

The circus itself was great as well as the Cedar Park Center. The main downfall was the huge emphasis on the merchandise being sold within the area. I completely get that this is a money making operation but I was probably approached a minimum of 15 times to purchase a light sword. I felt slightly harassed because they were all different people pushing these products. I was having a hard time manaing my 3 year old twins when every couple of minutes we were being asked to buy something. We still spent plenty of money on "extras" but the frequency of these sellers was excessive.
