    Great show!

by jpik on 1/20/13Paradise Rock Club - Boston

The stripped down show was incredible. The songs were really clear and each was a fantastic version of the original, along with quite a few new songs that were also fantastic. The lead singer was a bit emotional...he had been going through alot, and they lost their record deal apparently. He let his emotions drive him to make an unbelievable performance.

    Fantastic Concert

by Anonymous on 1/20/13Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Well, Augustana showed up late, but boy, was it ever worth waiting! These guys have great music to begin with, but wow, they sure perform it well too! With a touch of improv throughout. The band and the audience were very responsive to each other. If you want a nice night of acoustic, live music with lovely melodies and meaningful lyrics, see Augustana.

The Best Concert I Have Ever Seen

by bcstudent on 1/20/13Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Augustana albums do not do Dan Layus's voice justice. He is absolutely incredible, and every song sounded better live! They played songs off of all their albums as well as a bunch of new sounds that also were amazing. The bottom line: You would be sorry to miss seeing Augustana on tour, they are an incredible band (even if it is two people now) and terribly underrated.

    Completely Exceeded Expectations!!

by CLB424 on 1/20/13Paradise Rock Club - Boston

This show was amazing! I had seen augustana about 5 years ago when their stars and boulevards album was out (entire album was great!) and they were really good live. I've continued to be a fan and listen to their more recent hits like "sweet and low" and "steal your heart". When I saw they were coming to Boston again my girlfriends and I figured it would be a fun night out so we bought tickets. The show far exceeded our expectations! The acoustic vibe at the paradise was so intimate. I gained a much stronger appreciation for Dan's vocals and songwriting talent and the guy with him (sorry, don't know his name) was a beautiful musician. I knew quite a bit of songs but ended up falling in love with the new songs I had never heard. That, to me, is a true indication of how good a band is - if you can be blown away by music you've never heard before. I fell in love with every single new song they played - "youth is wasted on the young", "need a little sunshine", "love is in the air", "alive", and more! Turns out these song are not even on an album or available to purchase on itunes yet, but I will certainly be looking out for them. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Overall a wonderful night out and left feeling so glad I was able to be there.

    Amazing and Inspiring

by gryfn3 on 6/11/12El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

Augustana - incredibly talented, raw honest open emotion, sheer powerful love songs and a voice that truly inspires many. Augustan made a great choice in selecting Greylag as a touring partner for this tour. The musical styles complemented each other perfectly. I highly recommend seeing both of these bands any chance that you get.

    Augustana Rocked!

by JackoTobias on 4/25/12The Paramount - Huntington

Augustana was so much fun. Not many people were in attendance which surprised me because of the popularity is seems that they have. I loved it none-the-less, it was an intimate performance which made it ultra special. They must have done at least 25-30 songs straight without taking a break. It was such an amazing night!!!

    My very own private concert!!

by jmakaw on 4/25/12The Paramount - Huntington

Opening band was really good. Augustana was great!! They rocked out! Got to try out their new material since there were only 125 people TOTAL in the entire venue, noone complained. I don't know if was because the show was on a Monday night or if it's the Paramount's fault for not promoting the show, but it was only a benefit to me as I could walk up to the stage and back to the bar as often as I wanted.

    amazing as always

    by lsanassi13 on 4/25/12The Paramount - Huntington

Even better than last time in February. Dan is a machine...he sang straight thru and only stopped once to breath. Truly unique and amazing.

    Augustana never disappoints!

by emmsl on 2/9/12Center Stage - Atlanta

I went to see them in Atlanta the other night and they were absolutely phenomenal. I say with this with no exaggeration but when you see and hear Dan sing it is almost a religious experience! I sincerely hope their fan base will keep them going because I would not be happy if that was the last time I got to see them perform. Hopefully I'll get to see Dan again in Atlanta but until then I'll just have to listen to their songs on repeat.

Daniel Layus is a lyrical genius

by Anonymous on 2/7/12Paradise Rock Club - Boston

After hearing the awful news that Augustana had broken up, it was amazing to hear that Daniel was still determined to perform and write new music. Although the lineup has changed since the original formation of Augustana, the new members did not disappoint. Daniel was INCREDIBLE! The set was over two hours long, full of old classics, and a few new songs! Daniel was so happy to be on stage, it was so refreshing to see. I can only hope that they continue touring and creating music! It truly was an unforgettable night and one of the greatest performances I've had the pleasure of seeing.
