About

For over two decades, Atmosphere has maintained a course of rigorous output, releasing over two dozen studio albums, EP's and collaborative side projects in as many years. In that time, the venerated duo have built a legacy out of bringing honesty, humility and vulnerability to the forefront of their music, continually challenging themselves to evolve without straying too far from their roots. Slug has proven masterful at storytelling and writing compelling narratives, leaving a trail of his own influence while paying homage to the rappers and songwriters that helped shape him. Ant has skillfully molded the soundtracks with inspiration from soul, funk, rock, reggae, and the wizardry of hip-hop's pioneering DJ's and producers, creating his own trademark sounds while providing the pulse for songs about life, love, stress and setbacks. At its essence, Atmosphere has been a musical shepherd, and with each new album comes a new journey as they guide generations of listeners through this thing called life.

  • Atmosphere put on a great show

by nickname113334 on 2/27/12Mayo Civic Center Auditorium - RochesterRating: 3 out of 5

Atmosphere put on an awesome show, but the opening artists were awful. they were pretty boring to listen to and they were having a hard time getting the crowd involved.

Atmosphere is one of the best shows I have ever been to, and having them come to Rochester is so nice! Gone to this show 2 yrs in a row and I hope it continues next year too.

  • Atmosphere is at their best, great openers too.

Atmosphere fosters so much young talent. It was great to see the 3 opening groups. Then the Atmosphere set was long and strong. Very impressed.

Slug was brilliant! Atmosphere did a good mix of their older and newer songs. Everybody was singing along and having a great time :)

ATMOSPHERE ROCKED MY SOCKS! The other bands weren't as good, but still interesting.

I went to both the Mankato show and the Bemidji one. They were amazing at both shows, would love to go to more shows if I could. Atmosphere is sick, and Mally and Kill the vultures did an amazing job too. Big quarters was..meh

  • First winter Red Rocks show was historic!

by AAcker on 2/12/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

I attended "Icelantic", the first EVER winter concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre (1/27/12) with my boyfriend and friend. I was very worried about being cold out there standing for so long, that I basically dressed as if I were going skiing/riding. Being the audience was so packed together, I was pretty happy with my temperature:) It even snowed a bit. We arrived late and missed Greives and a small part of Common's set, but what we saw was excellent. Great songs! It was about a half hour or so before Atmosphere came out. A DJ played music while folks utilized the intermission. It would've been nice if the venue had (more?) outside heaters. Security was pretty chill. My b/f and I ended up being skwooshed into a roped off area directly in front of the stage (row 8) and by the end of the show, that area was just a rope around more people who had also decided to trespass. Show ended around 11pm, and it was fairly easy to get out of the venue and to our warm(er) cars.

  • Common & Atmosphere @ Winter on the Rocks was EPIC

by CBBoarderJeff on 2/6/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

It was awsome, getting some fresh powder turns in at Steamboat in the morning and making it to Red Rocks to catch the show while still in my snowboarding clothes!!! Do more winter shows!!!

  • by HeadyHippy on 2/5/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

Show was fire. Common's set was nice, Atmosphere killed it as expected.

  • WINTER ON THE ROCKS

by AlanaAnne on 2/2/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

This show was absolutely INCREDIBLE. So many of my friends and I went together, we took up a whole row! We all loved every second of it and wish we could re-live it every weekend. <3 <3 <3 Atmosphere was so original and just astonishing to watch. Needless to say WE LOVED IT.

While it was almost unbearable cold, it was totally worth it. Common killed it with his set, and Atmosphere is so good, it's ridiculous. Amazing. I would buy a ticket every single year.

  • by Anonymous on 2/1/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 4 out of 5

Pros: Good length set, all artists good quality, unique event, sold out, a variety of older and newer songs from atmosphere Cons: Had a "corporate" feel to it with all of the matching clothing, no freestyle from Slug this time, seemed too rehearsed (ex. everything Slug said would lead into the next song, instead of making it up on the spot)

  • SO DOPE!!

  • Died and Reborn

by AKYall on 1/31/12Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

Grives-Rocked it. Common-killed it. Atmosphere-slaughtered it. This was by far the best show one could have gone to. Red Rocks winter shows will be the new Haven for all concert goers.
