Bad Management
by Vicky on 11/7/23Hollywood Palladium - HollywoodRating: 2 out of 5I arrived at about 5:45 with the intention of visiting the immersive exhibition but was told I was too late and they were already tearing it down. There was still time since on promotions the Exhibit was to be kept up until 6.
This was after confusion on which of 2 lines to make. Was told to make line where I originally had been despite my friend who had been around was waiting for me inside venue, she and many others had been allowed to stay inside the venue after the Exhibition.
There was no clear explanation between lines or updates. I found out from my friend texting me a screenshot of Ashnikko's Instagram stating the show was pushed back an hour, now starts at 8.
We were not even let in until 7:45.
EXTREMELY quickly it became obvious that there was over crowding. I looked behind me (I was about 10 rows from front of stage) and I saw the crowd was packed shoulder to shoulder all the ground floor and reaching the bar/steps area. That is already a mess to consider needing to quickly push way through if need to find rest/exit to use restrooms etc. I fully and truly think there was far too many tickets sold that might not be within limits.
The ONLY good thing I can say is there was 2 gentlemen working that from front of stage would help distribute waters best they could into the crowd. I personally helped flag their attention to my section and became a middleman to help distribute water to the rows behind me. Like a conga line, the gentleman would pass it to people in front of me, I would then pass it to those behind me that were flagging for water. This was EXTREMELY important and I am grateful for the thoughtfulness.
But all around this was a confusing experience. Especially since my friend and I had same ticket and add-ons, yet I was not allowed to see the Exhibit that still had almost 20 minutes left of run-time, nor allowed to go in with same ticket my friend had.
