AS TALL AS LIONS IN CONCERT:
New York indie darlings As Tall As Lions thrilled fans in 2015 with the announcement of a handful of LA and NYC winter reunion shows – their first live performances since disbanding in 2010 . The band spent the better part of the ‘00s at the forefront of NYC’s indie music scene, and news of their return has ticket buyers on both coasts dying for a chance to see them in action again. In concert As Tall As Lions bring their soaring songs to life with passionate performances, conjuring up a truly massive tapestry of guitars that totally immerses ticket buyers. Frontman Daniel Nigro’s soulful voice has been compared to the likes of Chris Martin and Jeff Buckley, and like those impassioned crooners he’s a powerhouse performer known for his emotional delivery and vocal control. The band’s members have all remained active with various side projects during ATAS’s hiatus, so they’ll be ready to rock when they take the stage at their highly anticipated reunion shows.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
As Tall As Lions formed in Long Island in 2001 and rose to critical acclaim the following year with their debut EP Blood and Aphorisms. Their epic live shows quickly made them a staple of New York’s burgeoning indie scene, and in 2003 they signed a major label development deal. Their debut album Lafcadio arrived in 2004, garnering more critical acclaim and drawing them out for extensive touring. They followed up in 2006 with a self-titled sophomore album that was an even bigger success, leading to their television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! In 2009 critical favor gave way to chart success when their third album You Can’t Take It With You appeared on the Billboard 200. Despite the record’s popularity the band amicably split in 2010, but all was not lost – the band announced in 2015 that they’d be reuniting for several celebratory reunion shows

This show was by far one of the most amazing shows I've been to. The venue let people in early to eat/drink/buy merch or just chill out before they open the main doors. The opening DJ was so dope, he played nothing but old school music and I loved it!! I've never been able to dance before a show and it was so cool how the rest of the crowd was getting into it as well. Once As tall as Lions came on, it was nothing but a good time and an emotional rollercoaster. I have to give props to sound guy and lights, on point!!! They made the experience even better. The show was bitter sweet but I don't regret it at all. The band even chilled with the fans and took the time to talk to us after the show!! The whole band is super down to earth <3 I got my poster with every signature :) I'm still in awe of what happened that Monday night.
Simply amazing. They were just amazimg. I am so glad they came back and just played so well. I hope they stay together and ramp up the touring.
Great way to end their career together. The musicianship was amazing. So sad that it is all ending.
DRUM SOLO AMAZING!! INCREDIBLE MUSICIANS. I'M A FAN FOREVER!!!
Favorite band, yet another amazing performance. Nice venue, good vibes all around. Atal are just a group of some seriously talented musicians creating some fantastic awe inspiring music. Seeing everything come together live is an experience.
As Tall As Lions has brilliant vocals and amazing, talented musicians. They are a must see in any city without a doubt. Phenomenal.
they played a bunch of songs from their 1st cd like love love love, stab city, song for luna.... and played a bunch from their most recent cd.... overall they were awesome- and played barefoot! if you have the chance to see them definitley do it! i was right against the bar that separates the crowd from the stage so i was as close as possible and they were just amazing to watch-esp the bass player he got really into it, him and the lead singer played barefoot!
what a great great band to see live! very engaging with the crowd...love that!
First of all bear hands, the opening band killed it. They were very impressive. As tall as lions were perfect in every way. They played a lot of newer stuff but also mixed in enough older stuff, to keep everyone satisfied. Oh and both bass players, seeeeeexy!
