In 2013, Moroccan-born French Montana turned nearly a decade’s-worth of street mixtapes in to a full-fledged rap career with the release of his debut solo album Excuse My French. Propelled by the success of singles like “Pop That (feat. Drake, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne)” and “Freaks (feat. Nicki Minaj),” the album landed at No. 1 on both the R&B and Rap Album charts, firmly establishing Montana as one of hip hop’s brightest up-and-comers. Born and raised in Morocco, Montana cites soccer and rapping as his childhood hobbies. At age 13 he moved to the Bronx with his family, immersing himself New York’s hip-hop culture and showcasing his talent as a rapper through a series of mixtapes. Between 2002-2010 he would release a whopping 14 mixtapes, attracting the attention of legendary producers Rick Ross and Diddy, who co-released his 2013 debut on their respective labels. On tour in 2013, French Montana has been treating ticket buyers to extended live concerts of his most popular tracks, often accompanied by labelmate and collaborator Chinx.
He’s such a good performer. I loved it! Worth every penny!
He was supposed to be on stage at 9:30 didn’t get on till about 10:30 -11:00 performance could’ve been better he performed in the dark the whole show had the lights on the crowd instead of him
This event was a total waste of time. The event open at 10am and he did not come until 1pm. I love French and go to all his concerts but this was a big disappointment. Paid $35.00 for tickets and $500.00 for VIP for what. NOT GOOD!!!!
I loved the concert I was in the front and enjoyed the excitement and entertainment
He didn't do verses, he only did a few, but did the hooks to some of his best songs, sounded like he drank too much purple drank, was slurring words, I"m a hip hop head and I was mad to see how bad he was, don't waste your time or money
Jeremih was supposed to open the show but was unable to make it. The show still went on and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. French put on the whole show himself, performed for a little over 2 hours!! It was awesome! He's a great entertainer live! Definitely recommend seeing his performances!
First of all, Echostage is the worst venue possible to hold an event. The show started at 9pm, they had people wait outside in lines until 10 and then allowed people in. The drinks are more expensive then any other club I've been to and were not nearly as strong at they should be, even when I asked for them to be stronger. Then we proceeded to stand through 7 of the worst opening acts ever to be seen, a bunch of 17 years olds with microphones, shouting, one right after the other. Then 4 1/2 hours later French Montana finally decided to join the party, drunk, confused and no longer able to even remember his own lyrics. To top it all off he stayed on stage for no more then 45mins and mearly walked off when he was done. This was the most horribly organized and most poorly set up show I've ever been too.
This was one of my favorite artist. He didn't come on until 1:40am and left the stage right at 2:30. His performance was great cause I love him but he didn't seem to be all the way into it. It was not that packed so maybe that's why he was mad but still.
My problem is i don't kno what the issue was but it was my brothers bday... He's the French Montana fan.... This kid French didnt come on till almost 3am...! That's terrible when the show started @ 9 I was thinking he cud have showed @ least by 1
Being a big French Montana Fan and loving his music and dedication I was quickly disappointed in his lack of consideration of his Fans. It turned 2:30AM and French was still not on stage. People were leaving as it got later and later and once it finally hit 2:30AM we also left. I was simply disappointed and felt let down, as if we weren't important enough for his time, or the money we strung together to see him. I questioned how he made it this far. How someone who is so anxious to become a big rapper forgot that the only way he makes it, IS by his fans... Correct me if I'm wrong but you're supposed to actually perform on stage right? French Montana you disappointed me and many others. Do yourself a favor, take care of your Fans because you lost the ones in DC. Thanks for nothing but simply showing your true colors.
